In the pilot a dragon was seen flying away from the curse. We don’t know if it was Maleficant but maybe she was trying to escape the curse in that form and got stuck.

I think it has to have something to do with the curse. Rumplestiltskin created it before Emma and probably Snow were born, but he said Emma could break it. I think he must have done something with the hairs which would be her DNA or at least her DNA source to key the curse to her. If not I can’t see how he would know an unborn child would break the curse. Just a theory.

One of the creators said that Graham was originally supposed to be Robin Hood but due to lisencing issues they couldn’t use Robin Hood so they made him the Huntsman so I don’t think Snow White’s supposed to be him. Also she doesn’t give to the poor she keeps it herself.
