Participant– Favorite Episode of the Season
Going Home, this is the episode where the story really ended, I liked that it was bitter sweet. I really liked the resolution each character got, I liked how it mirrored early season 1:
Emma and Henry leaving Storybrooke together just like how they came.
Regina giving up her happy ending in order to save everyone, it’s a contrast to the pilot where she cursed everyone to suffer.
Rumple being brave and making the right choice by sacrificing himself in order to save everyone.
Snow and Charming giving up their daughter again, but this time, knowing she has a happy life and everything will be OK.
The stories returned to being just stories.
The only thing that bothered me about this episode was the redundant cliffhanger just for the sake of cliffhanger. It didn’t reveal anything new and it wasn’t shocking at all. “You’re family needs you” NO KIDDING. I just think that when you decide to end it and have a beautiful closure, you don’t need to insert anything new. Just end it and start something new after, people would have still continued to watch it even if it hadn’t been for that final scene.
– Favorite Character Introduced
I really liked Peter Pan. He was a great villain, Robbie is a wonderful actor. I liked the mind games he played with the characters.
– Favorite Moment of the Season
I liked the scene with Emma and Snow in 302. It was a small quiet moment that we rarely see now.
– Do you think the show spent too much time in Neverland, or too little?
I think they didn’t utilize Neverland properly, I think that they didn’t have enough backstories for the Peter Pan’s characters.
– What were your thoughts on the show’s decision to make Peter Pan a villain?
I thought it was great and very original and creative. How many adaptation of Peter Pan were dark? It was interesting, it was something that we’ve never seen before.
– What did you think of the reveal that Peter Pan was Rumple’s father? Has your opinion of this reveal changed since?
I thought it was weird at first, but it made so much sense. All the flaws of Rumple comes from his father, which is very appropriate for a show that depicts family dynamic.
_ What were your thoughts on Rumple’s sacrifice against Peter Pan?
I thought it was great and very emotional.
– Regarding this Season, has your opinion changed at all looking back?
Not so much. I think it was a strong season and very underrated (for some reason fans seem toblike it less than other seasons and I don’t understand why, but I think it has to do with the fact that characters actually talked about what they felt instead of having ships and Disney distraction, have you seen the “100 episodes” promo? All distractions). There were moments that I didn’t like and still do and those are Hook and Emma’s kiss and Hook and Neal fighting over Emma. By the way, after 5A, I can say that 302 was a much better adaptation of the Arthurian Legends. 5A just used the names of the characters when they removed all the essence of these characters while 302 used the essence with different names (Arthur = Snow, Morgana = Regina, Merlin = Charming).
SEASON 3B DOES NOT EXIST TO ME (just kidding, doing it in a different post, but let me just say that I did not like that season AT ALL).

ParticipantWhile I don’t think that OUAT will be cancelled, I won’t be surprised if they move the show to a different night. While the ratings are relatively good, 1.3-1.5 is not a good lead in for a night and it won’t give a chance to new shows that will air after OUAT, just as we saw this year with Blood and Oil and Quantico.

ParticipantI’ve always wondered what the repercussions of not complying with the network would mean? I mean, would they cancel the show or would they fire A&E and replace them or….? I mean if there are no serious consequences, I dont see why A&E would stand u and tell the story they want to tell.
Networks have fired creators/showrunners and replaced them with someone who will give the network what it wants. Usually this is better ratings or a more coherent story. Look at “Revenge” on ABC. The show runner was dismissed after 2 because of a really mind boggling storyline and a low ratings. A new person was brought in to “fix” the show. It lasted two more years but the damage was done and it was cancelled. The show runner for Sleepy Hollow “stepped down” (kind way of saying fired) at the end of S2 and the show was given to a new guy who was tasked with giving the show a new direction. So the answer to your question is that, yes, show runners can be fired from their own project by a network if the network think it has a better shot at more money (better key eyeballs = better ratings = more ad money) with someone else who will follow the network’s vision.
Another good example is Gilmore Girls, but that is going to be fixed in 2016.

ParticipantI think Jane talks mostly about Joss. It was known that Joss had to fight with network executives to get what he wanted, I remember specifically Willow and Tara’s relationship. On the other hand, A&E work for a much powerful company, abc/Disney, compared to the company Joss worked for, theWB/20th Century Fox.

ParticipantWell, the Frankenstein revelation happened in 205. I didn’t like the Frankenstein addition to the show, it felt out of place and it was poor worldbuilding because it was the start of every character who doesn’t fit with the Enchanted Forest gets their own world. However, there were nice moments in 212 that I really liked.

ParticipantIf filler episodes are handled well with a lot of character development then they can be great. I think the fillers are needed to allow characters to breath, react to what’s happening and be fleshed out. I don’t think that every episode needs to have the OMG moments.

ParticipantYou can’t say that Jane can’t take credit on her good episodes and blame her on the bad ones. Every writer gets outlines from the showrunner for the episode and they need to follow those outlines. While the twists in Skin Deep might not have been Jane’s idea, the dialogues are hers, this episode could have failed with a different writer. Another example I can give is 504 and 507, both showed a rushed relationships of two new characters, but 507 handled the relationship better than 504.

Congrats. You might be the only person in the entire fandom who doesn’t rank SB and T down towards the very bottom of the entire series. Though, looking back it wasn’t as bad some other episodes. It was once my #1 least favorite episode; now it’s like…5 o r 6?
It wasn’t that bad, it wasn’t even the worst episode in the season, Tiny and The Evil Queen were worse. SB&T at least had characters dealing with mistakes they made. Unlike now when everything is swept under the rug.

ParticipantThose rumors started because his agency posted that he finishes filming OUAT in March, which he does because they finish filming the season. Doesn’t mean he won’t be back for next season, it just means that his agency wants to find him something to do in the 3-4 months in between.

ParticipantIn my opinion season 2 had the best characater development out of all the seasons, including season 1. The characters finally realized the truth about who they are and the curse, it allowed them to grow as characters and their actions made sense. In later seasons, it just felt like they turned into templates that do 360 every 11 episodes. In the end, what matter is the characters, that’s why I think season 2 was better then 3B-5A.
I think that Cora should have stayed till the end, mainly because it felt like the season didn’t have any climax, whereas season 1 had an amazing build up toward breaking the curse. Season 2 just felt like they suddenly ended Cora’s storyline and started something new. It easier for me to consider season 2 as just 1-16, and 17-22 are part of 3A, but that just me.
Favorite episode: definitely Manhattan. It had a lot of build up since season 1, this is the episode everyone was waiting for.
Favorite moments:
203 – Snow imagines the life she could have had with her daughter (we rarely see emotional scenes like this, it seems like the writers forgot how devastating the Dark Curse was, now it’s just a means for transportation).
216 – Cora dies and we see a side of Regina that all she ever wanted was for her mother to accept her.
221 – Emma and Neal portal scene. The potential. Sigh.
