WOW. 😮 😮 😮 A darker Belle? Ok, this has the potential to be pretty freaking awesome! I can’t wait to see how her character develops in season 2. CAN’T WAIT!!!

beauty the beastParticipantPersonally, I saw the scene where Belle was talking to Grumpy in “Dreamy” as her confessing her love for Rumpel. She didn’t seem afraid of him or even that angry at him in that scene. And her final scene with him in “Skin Deep” was Belle trying to get Rumpel to open eyes and realize what was doing. She was being forceful. And like I said before, she obviously didn’t seem that angry at him in “Dreamy” or “A Land Without Magic.”
And as Price of Magic already said, she’s been away from Rumpel for 28 years. After 28 years of being locked in a tiny little room by a stranger, and kept away from her one true love, something tells me an argument they had 28 years ago isn’t going to anger her that much anymore.

^I hope those theories come true too. It would definitely up the stakes and add an extra element of danger to the situtation. Because right now, the two main villains are Rumpel and Regina. And we already know what their main objectives are. Rumpel wants to find Bae and Regina wants to get revenge on Snow. These are both selfish motives as opposed to Apocalyptic, end of the world motives. If the whole story is soley about those two motivations, then the story will lose an element of danger. We’ve already grown too emotionally attached to Regina and Rumpel. We know their backstories and their motivations, and they’ve become more sympathetic in our eyes. So, it’ll be difficult to view them as real, terrifying villains. I can’t fear someone who I already love. So, the theory of the other worlds bleeding into Storybrooke would give the story a real villain.
It would also bring the Mad Hatter and his magical hat back into the game. The writers introduced the concept of other worlds and dimensions for a reason. I think they’ll play a major part in the final battle.
That also puts Jefferson in a very interesting position. Jefferson is now the most sought after ally in Storybrooke. He has a genuinely powerful weapon: His hat. He has a way to escape. He has a way to abandon this whole mess. And I think Mr. Gold got lucky when Regina betrayed Jefferson in the finale. Now, Mr. Gold has a decent chance at gaining Jefferson as an ally.

It will be interesting to see how the writers have Belle handle Mr. Gold’s plans. She’ll probably be terribly conflicted. After learning about the curse and Baelfire, she’ll probably have a natural inclination to help him. But the manner in which he goes about carrying out his plans will definiely disturb and frighten her. Hopefully, Belle will act as Mr. Gold’s conscience and will help pull him back from the brink.
I’d also like for Belle to be the little voice in the back of Mr. Gold’s head telling him to stop, slow down. 😉
