If the writers really want to torment us, they’ll reveal that Gold’s first name is Henry.
Ok…that would be awesome creepy. π― π― π―
I wonder what kind of name Mr. Gold would choose? Henry? Robert? William? I find it nearly impossible to imagine Mr. Gold with a first name.
But then again, his real name is Rumpelstiltskin. So, weirder names have existed. π

I’m assuming there will be plenty of Belle next season. The producers already stated that they plan on going forward with her story, so I’m expecting a lot of Belle in season 2. π
Definitely. Belle has become an integral piece in Mr. Gold’s personal puzzle. She’s too improtant to his story to just write out of the show or not address with the proper amount of screentime. So, I’m glad the writers decided to bring Belle back into the main plot in the finale. π
I agree. I’m glad the writers recognized Belle’s significance in Rumpel’s story. For a while there, I began to fear that Belle would actually be killed off in the finale. Thank goodness the writers did a complete 180 and brought her back into the fold. Killing her would have been a waste of a good character and a good actress.

Ladies, I think we’ve just cracked the code to season 2. π
I think we have too. π I can’t wait to see how Rumpel handles all of this. There will definitely be tons of drama, but Iβve never actually worried about the long term condition of Rumpel’s relationship with Belle. This show is obsessed with the idea of true love and happy endings, so Belle and Rumpel will get their happy ending eventually.
Someone (I forgot who, sorry) made an interesting point about how to solve the problem of Rumpelstiltskin and his lust for power. They basically argued that Rumpel must have his happy ending because he needs his own personal curse to be broken. The heroes will never be able to out-smart him or over-power him because he is the Dark One. Killing Rumpel is out of the question because all that would do is just create another Dark One. The only safe solution is for Rumpel to be cured by true love’s kiss. Belleβs kiss would destroy the Dark One’s powers once and for all, instead of just passing it down to another person.
Rumpel will always be more power than the heroes because they are basically playing by his rules. Everything the heroes have done has ended up benefiting Rumpel, either directly or indirectly. They’re damned if they, damned if they don’t. The only real solution would be for the powers of the Dark One to be vanquished in its entirety. And since killing Rumpel is out of the question, the only other option is true love. So, that very conundrum implies that Rumpel must have a happy ending.
I completely agree. The show keeps reminding us that true love is the most powerful magic in the world. It can break any curse. So, the natural solution to Rumpel’s madness would be true love. From either his son Baelfire or from Belle. Killing him would only sire a new Dark One, so true love has to be his cure.

For some strange reason, I like the idea of Rumpel and Belle being linked through magic. I know it’s probably just my fangirl heart talking right now, but I think it’s kind of romantic.
Or at least it will be in the beginning.
I wonder if the pink enchanted rose from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will come into play in season 2? If Rumpel is going to be working with true love magic from now on, then he’s going to need a symbol of that. Back in Fairytale land, the Dark One was always connected to the dagger. The dagger held some sort of power or control over him. But now that Mr. Gold is working with the magic of true love, he’ll need a new object or symbol. I think it’ll be the enchanted rose. π
I would love for Disney’s enchanted rose to be introduced into the story. Since Rumpel’s new strategy is to work with magic made from true love, he’ll need a new object that represents his power. The enchanted rose would represent that new-found power perfectly. π
beauty the beastParticipantMidnight Dreary, you’re Candygirl9890? Holy cow, I’m Sweet Charity! *Sisterly Hug* I had no idea you were the same person. π
I went absolutely GAGA for the 25th celebration thread. It had everything. Gorgeous artwork, roses, silver, testimonials, stories…it was amazing! Thank you for putting so much hard work into it. π Can’t wait to see the 50th anniversary thread. By the way, I love the idea of Hades and Persephone as the theme for the next OP.. It’s very dark and romantic. π

I think you should do a vote without the three Rumpel episodes because i actually would rather know that then just another poll where everyone is going to pick Skin Deep. The winner is going to be Skin Deep. I will never vote for Skin Deep, but it is going to win the poll.
Wow. Really? π Skin Deep is a popular episode. Just because you don’t like doesn’t mean that it should be removed from the list. Why should Rumpel’s episodes be removed from the list? What if Snow and Charming’s episodes were constantly winning? Would ask for them to be removed too? I don’t particularly like Emma, but I don’t rant and rave about how much I hate her episodes. I usually just avoid talking about her. π
*Sigh* π
