ParticipantLoved – Weaver refusing to use the wheelchair and also Alice getting Rogers to wheel her out in it. Love them both.
Dislike – Jacinda and Lucy. Still not feeling them.
Intrigued – I wonder what Ivy did to lock Regina into the curse? I assume it must involve Henry or possibly Lucy getting hurt if the curse is broken.

Please, for the love of everything, stop with the “many years ago”
Really? The stellar idea to earn enough money to own your own apartment and be free of Victoria is for one person to make beignets? That is…unrealistic and dumb.
I’m not sure what it is, but I find the way Gabrielle Anwar plays Victoria to be really off putting. Maybe it’s her voice or slightly plastic-y face, but she’s just not doing it for me.
Jacinda used her rent money–money that could keep her child and herself off the streets–to buy a food truck? That currently doesn’t have an oven or even counterspace? Girl, you’re dumb.
I agree with all these points.
Earning a living on baking pastry based on one (partial) days sales is as ridicules as buying an empty truck and acting like this solves all your problems..I hope she saved enough money for an oven, paint, fresh baking supplies and lots and lots of Lysol. But I still side with Tiana on this one. At least she’s fighting. If Cinderella wanted to knuckle under and take her best chance…she should’ve taken her step-mom up on the apartment offer two weeks ago.
Stop with the lazy ‘many years ago’ stuff and actually work out a timeline that makes sense. Come on ABC I dare you!

Dr. Facillier – He was creepy, but interesting. The desperate soul line made me hope we’d see more of him. He’s sort of a Rumple type of character that I could see being very interesting if written right.
Tiana – I’ve only seen her movie once and that was quite some time ago so admittedly I’m not very familiar with the Disney version of her tale, but I did like her role in this episode. She has all the faith and moxie you expect from a heroine. I would’ve liked to see a golden ball somewhere in her story though. The original Grimm? version of the princess and the frog is the version I remember best.
The picture – I’m happy that they ‘found’ (they were lead to it by Drizzy really) that picture and I’m hoping in the next episode for some variation on the theme of, Roni: “how can I possibly be your mother? We’re like the same age.” Henry raises an eyebrow. Roni: “Almost”. It feels like the story is moving towards a curse breakage at last.
The witch in the tower – continues to be intriguing. Though I wish they’d give us more to theorize with.
Neutral:
Rogers – his search for the missing girl just doesn’t interest me. I assume the girl will be his daughter and maybe the story will get more interesting when we know more about her, but at the moment it all feels like a sidetrack to the more interesting stuff that Weaver and Alice have going on.
Ivy – she definitely emerged as a villain tonight. I agree with everyone guessing that she probably cast this curse.
Disliked:
No Weaver. No Alice.
Cinderella – my goodness she came off badly tonight! How am I supposed to root for her when she’s such a weak borderline unlikable character?
Princess? – the auction felt weird and out of place for a princess. I know kingdoms can become impoverished, but this just didn’t fit the narrative. No Queen would do something like this. Sure she might sell some things under the table to fill up her dwindling coffers, but not on the front lawn of her castle. If they wanted to go this way they should’ve just made them a rich/noble type family who either fell on hard times after their, say rich merchant father died or maybe the King levied a heavy tax on them that they were unable to pay because they refused to squeeze their peasant farmers like all the others nobles were doing to pay their heavy taxes. Alternately if they wanted her to be both poor and a princess they should’ve either had her kingdom overthrown so that she was tossed out of the castle with nothing or had her kingdom be a very small one and her ‘castle’ be only a small fort or something barely bigger than the hovels or her subjects.

ParticipantI’d say Going Home, while not a perfect ending, would’ve left a much better legacy than what ultimately the show has become. I feel that the characters at that point in the series were still mostly on point and it could’ve been a bittersweet kind of happy ending. Emma’s happy ending is finding true love with her son. Rumple gets to find Bae and Belle and make some peace with them and then die a hero. Snow and Charming get their daughter back. Bae/Neal finds Emma and Henry and in some way their love heals both their hearts (Neal and Emma were very much alike with their backstories)…. it would’ve been a good ending.
Granted we have had several very good episodes in the seasons following 3a, but imo the overall narrative has been lacking and very particularly the characters have been incredibly inconsistent in the time since 3a. But I also think that the fact that I’m still watching the show after all the complaining I’ve done over the last four years speaks volumes for how well they wrote the first season and how deeply invested emotionally we all became with those original characters. So I’ll always thank the writers for that. Season one was amazing.

ParticipantI just think it would be such a richer story for Alice to be Rumple and Belle’s daughter, trying to wake her father up and find a way to help him break his Dark One’s Curse. It would be such a full circle for Rumple.
Not to mention – She looks a lot like Belle/Emilie. – One of Belle’s biggest desires was to see the world, and Alice herself is an adventurer who has explored several places. – Belle would totally name her daughter after a literary character.
I agree. And it is for all those reasons that I am bummed.
Why should she be WishHook’s daughter anyway? Because she’s blonde like Emma? Emma isn’t even the mother here unless they want to create another Wish Realm where there is another Emma he could meet in the past before his realm existed.
Maybe they’ll put one final twist in the Once family tree and have Alice be the child of Gideon and RealHook+Emma’s as yet unborn (on the show) daughter? Thus making Hook and Rumple co-grandpa’s to complete the weird Once family circle (if your family tree does not fork…you’re probably a character on Once). It would screw up the timeline of course, but since when has that bothered them? Or maybe just simplify that theory and keep the timeline intact by having Gideon marry crazy Alice. Hook and Rumple as in-laws would be an amusing send off for Once.

ParticipantAlso: what’s a guardian? who’s a guardian?
a magical person maguffin so that Rumple has to stay the dark one and can become a shady villain when they need him
So true.
It’s so frustrating that they never found the way to write Rumple really well past season three. To me there is nothing wrong with him being The Dark One and still being married to Belle. She fell in love with him when he was already cursed and she should have been there for him, not co-signing his bad actions, but softening him somehow just by being there to remind him that there is a good man underneath the monster and that he can fight the darkness instead of always giving in. Yes he could still do shady things for plot reasons, but instead of yelling/leaving/coming back to him, Belle could be there consistently to pull him back from the evil brink. The on again off again stuff they did instead was exhausting.
Plus if they’d done this we never would’ve had those Evil Queen scenes in season six because Belle would’ve been right there to drop a bookcase on EQ if she tried any of that in front of her.

ParticipantBummed. Definitely bummed.

ParticipantI guess maybe the bullet woke him up. Well the bullet and ghost Belle.
Poor chip smashed again. Why must they always pick on chip!
