Just some random thoughts
You know, I was just thinking and…as much as I would love to see Hook & Emma end up gloriously and incandescently happy together at the end of this show — that isn’t why I’m so invested in this pairing.
What I’ve wanted for Emma since the very first moment she was introduced, was for her to be happy. I want her to believe in herself b/c that woman is a fearsome thing to behold and she deserves every bit of goodness that comes her way. I never truly shipped her with anyone until Hook came in the picture b/c he is just her match in every possible way.
Let’s look at all of the things Emma has been lacking in her life — hope, love, trust, support, understanding, people who believe in her and her abilities, and most of all…people who keep their promises to her and don’t let her down. Hook is the first person to meet all of those needs. He is the first person to answer all of the riddles. Sure, her parents do as well but, as good as they are and as much as I hate to say it, they are part of what caused her issues in the first place. Like she said, no matter what the circumstances, SHE is the one who had to live through all of those years of her life alone, not Snow…not Charming…not Neal. And as much as she does forgive them, the damage is done.
(It’s interesting that Snow wants another baby b/c what she has with Emma, while it’s wonderful, isn’t what she had in mind when she was born so she wants another shot with another child. — the same concept could be said for Neal who sent Emma away b/c of her “destiny” but it’s impossible to reclaim or rekindle what they had before after too much pain and loss has been inflicted. This isn’t what he wanted with Emma, this awkward “I can’t look at your face without thinking of everything you robbed from me” thing they have happening between them. His chance for his “Tallahassee” isn’t w/Emma, he needs a fresh start with someone new, like Snow needs with a new baby. Even more interesting that Snow admitted this to Charming right before Emma confessed to Neal that she needs to put him behind her, she needs to move on.)
But back to Hook — he is the very first person outside of immediate family to come back for her, to put her first, to not abandon her when he promised he wouldn’t, to show her that she can trust him and he will never forsake that trust, even if it means risking his life. He saved her father…any memories she makes with Charming in the future are all because Hook tricked that stubborn ass into following him up the mountain and saved his life. That conversation she had with Charming about the “good moments” was possible b/c Hook made it so. That is such a beautiful gift. He saved her father and is now in NY trying to once again bring her back to them.
Hook is the only person (again, outside of Henry and her family) making a real difference in her life. I don’t know what the future holds for them, but he’s in it for the long haul and he’s truly changing back into the man his brother would want him to be and it’s because of Emma. It’s because of the little girl who never thought she’d matter to anyone and here she is, changing the life and heart of a man who has long since had any hope.
Then think of Hook, every person he’s ever loved he’s lost. His father, Liam, Milah, even his crew. But here is this beautiful golden goddess who can see right through his BS, is handy with a sword, who doesn’t take his *stuff* and she just keeps coming back into his life. After the beanstalk, after Rumple’s cell, in Storybrooke, after she jumped overboard and finally back in NY — All of the pain and loss in his life is being re-written b/c of the noble choices he’s making as a result of loving Emma. He almost lost Charming like he lost Liam but that didn’t happen…and there is zero chance he can lose Emma like he lost Milah b/c Emma’s heart can’t be taken. What one lacks, the other makes up for and vice versa. They are like puzzle pieces that fit perfectly together.
They have been written so perfectly for each other that it baffles me that people don’t see it. Even down to the smallest details. Hook is the first person ever in her life who truly gets her and is the one person who will never let her down. I’m sorry, if that’s not beautiful — if that’s not a ship to go down with, I don’t know what to tell you.

I think my favorite part of the kiss is when he brings his hand up to the back of her head, not sure what it is about that part but I love it.. Also, at the end of the kiss when they are clinging to each other…LOVE IT!!

I was surprised at all the Smoochies!! Loved it all! Emma and Hook’s first kiss was awesome. Not a surprise since I saw the promo but I was caught off guard by how hot it was.
Lol – NONE of us were expecting a kiss that hot. Or passionate. Or romantic. UGH

Thanks so much for all the greetings!!! I feel so excited to talk to you all after reading all of your awesome commentary for the past few months. Yes, I have 3 girls ages 9,7 and 3. My older girls are dying to watch the show that makes mommy so excited. LOL.

Since then I’ve also discovered tumblr and twitter and now my life is consumed by CS.
WE FEEL YOUR PAIN (it’s great pain but it doesn’t make it any less painful haha)
And I’ve not been this obsessed with a TV couple since high school or college. I have no idea why CS has reduced me to a 16 year old again, but here I am!
