ONCE - Once Upon a Time podcast
Reviews, theories, and talk about ABC's Once Upon a Time TV show
With the extraordinary imagination of A & E fairy tale characters of OUAT, we can vicariously intertwine our real everyday lives with these beloved hero’s and heroines. The episodes remind me of the Hollywood formula where boy meets girl (Neal & Emma), they truly fall in love, then are separated by tragic events, they have “faux romances”, issues are resolved, hero and heroine are reunited—–GO SWANFIRE!
This Hollywood formula works as it creates the necessary tension to move the plot along, ensuring audiences keep coming back. The secondary romance characters are used as either comic relief or the “faux beau” — ie Hook. I like Hook, and IMO, the banter between Tink and Hook (they cook), is another Hollywood formula of true love between secondary characters in this epic tale.
