So, she’s basically oblivious that her fairy friends are missing, she has a fake dagger, Gold has Hook’s heart in a suitcase, she’s about to become an accomplice in kidnapping Henry and taking him across the border, among other things.
But, she gets a nice yummy breakfast in bed, prepared by her murderous, heart stealing husband, the Dark One, aka world dominator. (He’s still my fav on the show, along with Regina)
However, I’m as believing as she is, because I still believe there’s a lingering piece of goodness hiding somewhere in Rumple’s dark heart.

The place where Neal loved Tamara, who Rumple later murdered. The place where Hook tried to murder him with Dreamshade. This is Rumple’s go to place to begin a new comfy life with Belle and Henry.
New York City, where Rumple was fearful of airplanes, security and such. That’s the place he chooses to set down his throne as supreme ruler. Well, maybe he really loved the hot dogs or he wants to live in shadow memories of the grown son whose New York life he didn’t understand.
What a beautiful memorial to a beloved son. Go to Neal’s safe place, where he was isolated and protected from magic. Use ultimate magic to control Neal’s non magical city, and use his couch as your throne.
Personally, I take everything Rumple says to Hook with a grain of salt.
I think this is partially why I’m so perplexed by Rumple. I hear him tell Hook what his plans are. But Generally Rumple tells half truths and never the full story. He rarely lets anyone know his true intentions. Yet here we have Rumple telling Hook exactly what his plans are? Yes, Rumple intends for Hook to die, but still, it’s not like Rumple to give full answers to anyone when questioned.
So, obviously there’s got to be much more to this plan. I don’t believe for a minute Rumple wants to rule the world…with Henry? Here’s some furniture polish kid. Next year we rule the world! Its just ridiculous, and not Rumple at all.
It would make more sense to me if Rumple wanted to be known as a hero to Henry and Belle, get out of crazy Storybrooke, go find a kingdom to rule somewhere. But why on earth, and in what universe would Rumple want to go live in New York City? Like, does he have fond memories of New York?
However, if his intention was to get away from everyone, go to NY, keeping his powers just long enough to cast a memory spell on the three of them, changing their memories so that Henry would thereafter be known and remembered as being Neal, a nice happy family, Rumple the hero, Belle and Neal, that I could believe. Because that’s crazy Rumple.
But world domination? I don’t believe it.
If there’s one thing I want to see this episode, it’s Belle finding out about the dagger. It’s been almost an entire arc since they’ve set this up, and I am getting constantly annoyed that it keeps getting dropped (did anyone else expect Belle to overhear the conversation between Rumple and Hook?).
If things don’t come to a head with that, I’ll be pretty upset.
I assumed Belle wasn’t just sleeping in that scene. My assumption was that Rumple magically knocked her out for the duration of the curse to protect her. (Actually, to get her out of his way so he could pack and avoid her questions).
Belle’s most adamant statement ever was “no one decides my fate but me!” Rumple is taking that away from her.
It’s so curious, and frustrating, that they wrote Belle into the Snow Queen story, Anna’s story, then they put her to sleep as the curse played out. Possibly she won’t ever be part of Anna’s story as she leaves Storybrooke and returns to Arrendelle. Anna could have given insight as to how Rumple was involved with her parents, the hat, the sorcerer, etc. I would have loved to see Anna react to learning her friend Belle actually married Rumple.
Also frustrating that Belle actually saved Robin and Marian’s lives, but she has no part in their present stories. She had a fairly significant backstory with Robin when he broke into the Dark Castle, but they don’t interact in Storybrooke.
And Henry, working in Rumple’s shop. So much potential, but…..nothing happened.
I was hoping 4B would have a lot to do with Snow. She really does need to get her groove back.
And, if they’re all looking for happy endings, you’d think they’d have a bone to pick with Snow who seems to be the only gal with a happy ending so far.
Plus, if those Dalmatians, sea gulls, ravens and such, start midnight howling and communicating distress, maybe Snow can decipher their language and come rescue them. As in, maybe Belle’s new puppy tells Snow where the villains are hiding Belle. Snow can rescue her so she’s free for Regina to kidnap later. Sorry, kidding.
I’m expecting a long 11 weeks of fan complaints. Why are they featuring Cruella so much? Why aren’t they showing more Meleficent? I want more Ursula! 3 villains! Where’s Belle? They lock up Belle AGAIN! Too much Cruella!
This town is too small for 3 villains at once. Ursula deserves her own story arc, why are they wasting her arc in a Cruella story? Where’s Maleficent? Too much Ursula!
Our main characters are under featured because of the 3 villains.
Regina the Queen. “I don’t know who you are, but why don’t you go back to where you came from.”
