ParticipantGreat idea! But I have a question. Do you want to discuss a book made into a movie or just any book and any movie? Current movies, in theaters today, or on dvd? (netflix, hulu etc.). Two weeks is a short period of time to fit in a book especially a trilogy :). You might have to limit the size of the book.
Great questions! Here are some (TENTATIVE, SUBJECT TO CHANGE) guidelines:
1. The books and movies cannot be more than one. If it’s a series, we could always continue during the next cycle, but we’ll limit it to one for now.
2. They can be different books and movies. I’m thinking that, every few cycles, we can always have the movie be an adaptation of the book, but it’s generally separate.
3. No movies within the last six months, books within the last three months.

ParticipantVague press releases are nothing new for OUAT, especially for finales.
How will Cruella be related to Henry???!
Normal Theory: No direct relation, but she will become his first true adversary. If Regina does end up splitting up with Robin Hood and sending him over the town line, Henry will go and get her a dog (a Dalmatian, of course). However, everything changes when the De Vil attacks! She wants to take the puppy for her own, malevolent reasons.
Crack Theory: Cruella is the Supreme Overlord of Dalmations and teams up with Ursula (the Goddess of the Sea, who controls fish) and Maleficent (the Mistress of All Evil, who can turn into a dragon and possibly communicate with other dragons) to take over Storybrooke. She uses her psychic animal powers and, along with the other “Queens of Darkness,” (by the way, does that mean there are Queens of Light?) shall destroy the town and rule over Storybrooke’s citizens with her precious pups and Co.!
All jokes aside, I really hope this episode tells us WHAT THE HECK RUMPLE IS PLANNING. Because, as cool of a character as he is (was?), I don’t want it to just be world domination through means of a magical hat. I want a thought out motive that will justify why we have done a complete 360 on his character development and why we’ve spent 11 episodes only getting subtle hints. I mean, at this point last season, we got an extremely beautiful scene where he sacrificed himself for everyone. I want to know why we’re not seeing that man anymore.

ParticipantIt’s late, so mine will be quick, but I did really like this episode. This season has been iffy at best, mostly because it’s been really inconsistent, but this was a really strong episode
LIKED:
– The “psychic.” It was fun to see a psychic-for-hire, and I liked the banter with Ingrid.
– Every moment with Regina. From Evil Queen to loving mother, she was great.
– Snow doing things! Her banter with David was hilariously good, and her kicking the stuffing out of Regina was great. Hopefully, we get more of these moments in 3B.
– Ingrid’s sacrifice. Yes, she did kill herself. However, sacrificing yourself for the greater good of everyone isn’t, in my opinion, straight up suicide. I’m not going to dwell on the touchy aspects of it, but I did think it was a touching moment and a fitting end for Ingrid, since she did get what she wanted.
DISLIKED:
– Ingrid’s sudden reversal. When she touched the stone on the letter, it seemed to indicate that she was given back these memories. However, she never got them taken away. Therefore, I don’t see why she would just be all, “Oh, I now remember my sister’s love that I knew she had for me and was just angry at the moment. Let me go ahead and kill myself now, even if it is a sacrifice for the greater good.” Touching moment, yet caused by a confusing turnaround.
– The attached image should explain it all, if you replace the cat’s head with Rumple’s.
Overall, probably my favorite episode of this half.

ParticipantI liked this promo a lot, but I can’t get over the fact that MALEFICENT SHOULD BE DEAD. If they don’t explain that, I’ll be very angry.
Otherwise, I hope this is a nice conclusion to the arc. It’s had its ups and downs (some more than others…), but after a really strong episode, I hope they can end it on a high note. At least, one that can hold us until March.

ParticipantFinally saw the sneak. Alright, if the episode is half as good as this, it’ll make up for all the terrible lines they’ve given Snow. That was HILARIOUS.
Now I want some Regina lines, because if Snow is this snarky, I can only imagine Regina.

ParticipantBut the past in the past, can’t change anything now,
We said that before last season, don’t give them that idea again.

ParticipantI have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, I am kind of upset that it seems like Regina can’t be happy. She loses a love, gets another one, then loses him again.
However, OQ is a very unhealthy relationship by modern standards. With the cheating, the sex in a crypt, and the endangerment of both Henry and Roland, this could be good for both sides.
We’ll have to see how this plays out. I’m just excited for the finale based on the title alone!

ParticipantI think the curse wears off once you’ve committed the act that is most opposite from your normal self.
For example, Anna is someone who is extremely loyal. She went through extraordinary lengths to bring Elsa back! But when she did the thing that’s most opposite to her (betraying Elsa and trapping her in the urn), she snapped out of the spell.
So, if Snow White committed murder, lost hope in all things, and/or became a pessimist, she would might be able to snap out of the curse. Same goes for everyone else who commits an action that’s most opposite to their normal selves.

ParticipantWhat I don’t understand is that, if Blackbeard was alive, why didn’t Hook just try and kill him again for his ship? He was perfectly willing to do it before, so he could’ve just gotten the bean from Blackbeard (who’s name is not split in two, which is a historical fact that Once apparently doesn’t mind changing) after killing him and everything would be solved.
The thing that bugged me about the wishing star was that there was no foreshadowing up to it. It was just THERE and apparently everyone was fine with that. If there had been foreshadowing, I’d be more fine with it.
(But Plot Device Fairy is now chilling with Plot Device Fairies in Plot Device Hat. Let’s get the Black Fairy’s wand, Rapunzel, and ALL THE BEANS in there and have a Plot Device Party!)

ParticipantWell, that’s…new.
It’ll probably focus on Maleficent not forgiving Regina for locking her under the clock tower.
Still, I’m surprised that Adam himself is directing it because I don’t think he’s ever directed…ever. It should be interesting.
