DemiletoParticipant
Ah, but if Snow discovers she’s pregnant in the present….then it’s a pretty big parallel.
Fair enough.
[adrotate group="5"]DemiletoParticipantI think more than likely they never find the mythic creature. I bet Snow finds out she is pregnant and they give up the hunt in order to prepare for Baby Emma.
Then I’d have to question the point of the flashback in the episode. Like I said, its function in ONCE is to either parallel or explain events in the present.
DemiletoParticipantI really don’t think it’s Pan. The Tword would go all crazy and Snowing never seemed to recognize Pan with a “oh yeah, we went after that dude once!”
He doesn’t have to be using the face they’d recognize later. He might not even be using a face at all, maybe all they interact with is his voice.
One thing’s for sure: there’s no actor cast specifically to do this “mythical being”, so either it’s someone we already know or it’s a completely digital creature that won’t speak a word.
DemiletoParticipantWhat if this is how they first met blue fairy for real?
We know as a girl that Snow thought she met her, but actually did not. Then later on of course she is “air support” because grumpy is owed a favor, and is actively involved in their campaign council pre-curse, helping them trap Rumple etc.
Unless they’re trying to get squid ink too.
Snow and Charming have interacted with BF plenty of times before Regina crashed their wedding party, I highly about about it.
I’m more inclined to think the “mythical being” is Pan. I have no idea where that’d fit in the big scheme of things, but this IS still during the Neverland arc and flashbacks ARE done to either parallel or explain present events, after all.
ETA: Maybe “The New Neverland” is meant to reference how time stood still in Storybrooke for 28 years just as it is in Neverland. Who knows?
DemiletoParticipantI do agree that PP is a bit of a sociopath and I remember someone once telling me that Disney actually hated the character because he found him creepy.
That was me, actually. It was a bit of trivia I found some time ago in Pan’s page from Disney Wikia:
Even though his film was a success, Peter Pan was not one of Walt Disney’s favorite characters because he felt Pan was too immature and cold. This is less prevalent in the Disney parks, however, to enable better interaction between park guests and fellow characters, but he still does not like to be kissed by girls most of the time.

IIRC, I brought that tidbit to the forums a week or so after season 2 ended. Back then there were people in denial that Peter was going to be a villain and were trying to find loopholes, to which I countered that for all his heroic portrayals in media Pan’s personality curiously seemed to be defined by far more negative traits than positive ones, citing Wikipedia and the article above as sources.
Of course, not even I imagined back then that A&E would go this far with making a villain out of PP. This Peter seems completely irredemable to me and death does look like to be the only logical conclusion to his story, which saddens me as I was kinda hoping to see, for once, a Peter that ends up with Wendy. Sigh, so much for that! 🙁
DemiletoParticipantOK, this is likely the first episode of BOTH Once and Once Wonderland that has really spooked me out. I’m pretty sure my heartbeat jumped when they revealed the Carpenter was becoming a tree. 😮
November 22, 2013 at 2:23 pm in reply to: Malcolm kept his memories once he became PP/August lost his #225815DemiletoParticipantThey write BF popping up so suspiciously at that moment, with her its either plot convenience or a master plan, or plot convenience they’ve decided to retcon into Sneaky Fairy.
In all fairness, that whole scene reeks of plot convenience. Neal also conveniently popped in out of nowhere, after all.
DemiletoParticipantEmma & Neal facing Pan together?! Now we’re talking!
It’s the follow-up to Pan being empowered by Henry’s heart. Notice the torches in the pictures.
DemiletoParticipantEdit: And just from my experiences with online fandoms over the last ten or so years (OMG, has it been that long?!? ), I don’t know of many guys at ALL who are part of any shipping fandoms so if VCF is a CS shipper, he’s one of few guys that I’ve encountered who even give a crap about that sort of thing. Honestly, I don’t even know of many guys who actually watch OUAT right now…much less any guys who ship anyone on it, LOL
I’m a guy and I ship Swanfire… and I’m also suddenly feeling very alien around here! LOL! 😆
DemiletoParticipantHeh, after this take of Peter Pan I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out the Wicked Witches were misunderstood and the Wizard is the real villain in ONCE’s version of the tale! 😆
