ParticipantI really enjoyed this episode. Love getting more of Regina’s backstory, and her desire for redemption was touching, but I somehow have my doubts that it will end well. Both Regina and Rumpelstiltskin are people who love power–even the people they love seem to suffer whenever they try to reason with them. Also, I am wondering why Regina still married King Leopold–Cora was gone, and Rumpelstiltskin was eager to teach her magic. She had wanted Cora gone so she could escape. What made her change her mind about the marriage? ❓
I really missed Emma and Snow White–but I the episode was enaging enough to make me forgive the few scenes they were given. Still, I wonder why Mulan is blaming them for Prince Philip’s ‘death?’ And why hasn’t anyone recognized that Snow White is–or was?–Queen? Unless she is not from their area, perhaps?
With Cora, I am guessing that she lost her powers–why else is she in prison, not having tried to escape?

ParticipantTo say one is better than the other–that they have a better chance to be redeemed…I don’t know. Everyone talks about redemption for these two, but one sign of redemption is not only to change their ways, but to feel remorse for what they have done.
Regina has shown a great emotional side in regards to Henry, but she has done much to not only hurt him, but has never shown that she is truly sorry for her actions. She tried numerous times to kill his grandparents before he or Emma was born. She tried to get rid of Emma, she killed Graham and caused Henry to feel intense guilt for his death and fear for Emma’s safety.
Rumpelstiltskin is in the same catagory. While he motivation for finding his son is touching, what he has done is aweful. He killed a Fairy Godmother who never had anything to do with him. He helped create a curse to send everyone to their misery, and not only shows no remorse, but continues to manipulate. Belle said it herself–he still does bad things.

ParticipantI had vaguely wondered about Emma staying in Tallahassee, but I never thought there was going to be a whole lot of importance to it. 😮
It will also be great to finally get an episode for Emma alone–I like all the hints given in different episodes of her past, but I had been waiting an episode to focus on her solely for a while now.

ParticipantI thought this was a great start to season 2 and a great episode. The scene where Snow White and Prince Charming see Emma, who looks so very lost and uncomfortable, and hug and cry for her was so touching and sweet. Henry calling Prince charming grandpa was really cute, too. Emma had been looking for her parents for so long, and not only did she (a little) looked touched, but also a bit scared. 🙂 And I love how Snow white was trying to get to Emma–also revealing her one-bight stand with Dr. Whale. 😆
The reunion with Belle and Rumpelstiltskin was sweet, but I wasn’t surprised at his finding a loophole. This is a man who makes his living out of loopholes and manipulation. I also disagree when he said he deserved a thank you–true Henry lived, but he really hurt Emma. She believed Henry to be dead, and Rumpelstiltskin allowed her think that–he should know more than anyone about the pain of losing a child, and yet he put her through that.
I did think it sweet that Belle returned to him. 🙂 And I hope we leanr more of her time in both Fairytale Land, and in Storybrooke before the curse broke.
I actually felt a bit of sympathy for Regina…until she tried to kill Prince Charming. Also, why lie about Jefferson? Everyone remembers, Emma believes in the curse–she would not be surprised if Regina had betrayed Jefferson. What does she gain? The only thing I can think of was that she was afraid that Emma would change her mind about helping her if it was revealed what she had done to Jefferson.
Henry calling Regina his mom was not surprising. I think her last words to him in A Land Without Magic got to him. And maybe he was hoping that she would change. Also, I partly think his calling Regina mom was to stop her from killing Prince Charming–not to mention his trying to make her help in finding Emma and Snow White…might be a way of helping them out.
It is a bit sad that everyone seems to hate Mulan–she has only been in one episode, and we haven’t really seen a whole lot of her.

ParticipantI had no problem with her–I did enjoy her character, but I also wanted more. It is understandable since we have only seen her in a few scenes. And her having feelings for Philip is not a big surprise–they were together for a long time, had fought together–that does form bonds.
I didn’t blame Aurora for being a bit snappish–she feels jealous that Philip was with another woman while she slept on in a curse.

ParticipantA lot of the times, when we talk freely of our emotions, they don’t always make sense. Emma wished to be with them and not seperated. She wanted a loving family–but she always thought that they simply did not care for her. She probably thought they did not love her–she is both joyed and shocked that they love and want her. 🙂
I also think there is resentment. When Snow White says that they gave her up for her best chance, she counters that they did so for everybody.

ParticipantI wasn’t at all surprised–I think Regina’s final words to him in A Land Without Magic (about how she does love him) did reach him a bit. He doesn’t want to live with her–he doesn’t want to even be near her–but he doesn’t want her to die. And he does agree that she has taken care of him in a way–he agrees when Emma points that out in An Apple As Red As Blood. 🙂
Also, the second time he calls her mom was when she was about to kill Prince Charming–I think he did it to stop her. He might be starting to realize that he does have a bit of an influence over her–he told her not to talk to her until she found Emma and Snow White.

ParticipantThe BBQ one was very funny and cute–they all looked so very happy together, even though none of them (except the Charming Family, and even then that will have some trouble) are going to get along. Emma has been shown a lot lately with a sword–I think this is the fourth or fifth promo pic with her holding a sword. There might be even more that I haven’t seen.
Emma with a sword might be a sign of how she is going to embrace her role–plus she has obviously always been a fighter. 😀 I am thinking there are going to be alot of fight scenes with Emma, though that could be more hope in me. Henry does look very much like Robin Hood–it could be a nod to who his father is, or it could be one that shows Henry taking a more active role in the story. He already had an active role, of course, but it may increase.
I also love Belle holding the book in her hand–it is another cute little nod to the Disnsy film. 😀
The second picture with Emma in the room with the dresses was interesting–the blue one was the dress that Cinderella wore to the ball when she met Prince Thomas, and I think the whitish (maybe beige? I am not really good with colors) dress is the one Cinderella wore to her wedding. And of course Emma picks the armor–awesome. 🙂

ParticipantI don’t think Emma had Henry after she gave birth to him. We know she was in prison when she gave birth and Regina had adopted him when she was three weeks. I think after she gave Henry up she started traveling–she told Mary Margaret that she was looking for her parents. She may have traveled around trying to find them. She may have stayed in Tallahassee because she thought she found some sort of clue–perhaps she had grown close to some people along the way.

ParticipantI’d have to say the whole Charming family. Red/Ruby, Jefferson/Mad Hatter, Belle/Belle’s Counterpart, and Regina/Evil Queen. 😀 I can’t pick one. 😆
