I voted for Mr. Gold/Rumplestiltskin. He’s been orchestrating this hold thing for centuries. He created the world’s most powerful curse, he found a soul desperate enough to cast it and he even convinced the person who cast the curse to make him rich and powerful in the next world.
Point= Gold.
[adrotate group="5"]eternalflameParticipantDoes anyone know what “Baelfire” means? It’s a very unique and powerful name. Really leaves an impression on you.
eternalflameParticipantI don’t think the BLue Fairy is bad. She seemed to have pure intentions during last week’s episode. She wanted to help Baelfire and his father escape the power of the Dark One. But I do think that she has other motives. Not necessarily bad motives. But other motives nonetheless.

If August is Pinocchio it just seems weird to me that he is dying now that Emma has returned. Unless he was fine into she returned or has he just been suffering for the last 28 years and it is only right now that he is dying.
Yes. You’d think that Emma’s presence in Storybrooke would actually heal him. But I guess not. 🙁
eternalflameParticipantYes, Mr. Gold and August’s scene in the woods was very beautiful and touching. But I want his real reunion with his son to even more so. However, after August’s betrayal, I don’t think Mr. Gold is going to allow anyone to get that close to him again. Which is sad because the real Baelfire is out there somewhere, and Belle is safely locked in the mental asylum. But now, Mr. Gold’s walls are going to be sky high. No one will be able to penetrate them.

Is he a liar, though? I can’t go back through all his statements, but although we know he’s done some misleading, has he actually said an outlight lie? Or has he adroitly danced around it? 😉
He’s lied a few times now Lemurs in Nepal, calling Gold Pappa etc
That’s what I don’t undrstand. Some of his lies are justifiable. He needs to keep his true identity hidden or else the Evil Queen will have him killed or thrown in the mental asylum. But some of this other lies, like the lemurs in Napal, just seemed unnecessary. If he is in fact turning back into wood from all the lies he’s told, then it’s his own fault. Which is sad, because I really like August and would like to see him become a permanent series regular on the show. But if he continues to lie like this, then he’s going to be in some real trouble.
eternalflameParticipantI don’t think anyone should have apologize for liking a particular character. All of the characters, even the villains, are easy to love. I like that Rumple/Gold is both good and evil. I like having that balance in a character. I’d actually be disappointed if the writers decided to go one way or the other with his character. His character shows that even good men can make terrible mistakes. The only difference here is that his mistake led to extreme tragedy.
eternalflameParticipantWow! these avatars are amazing. Great job! 😀
eternalflameParticipantI also fear for Baelfire’s mental and emotional well-being. He’s been through so much and I’m not sure if his young fragile mind would be able to handle it.
Baelfire actually reminds me Luke Skywalker (Yes, I wen there) Baelfire is essentially good, but he’ll always be tempted by the “dark side.” And to make matter worse, his father has already been converted to the dark side. After viewing last week’s episode, I’m beginning to believe that it will be up to Baelfire to save his father from the forces of evil. Sometimes, it takes the urging of a loved one to change your life. Maybe Baelfire will be that person for Rumple.
You know, after all this talk of fathers and sons, good and evil, I kind of wish that Baelfire played a bigger role in the show. He’s extremely important to the plot. If it weren’t for him, the curse wouldn’t have existed. So, it’s pretty safe to say that the curse is about him, and not necessarily Emma. Rumpel could have easily used any child from the product of true love to help him create the curse. So, Emma isn’t necessarily the focus of the curse. It’s Baelfire. Baelfire is the common thread that runs through this curse.

Someone needs to save Mr. Gold from himself and return him to the loving father he once was.
You couldn’t have said this better! I completely agree with you. Rumpel has been slowing killing himself with each innocent life he hurts. The light of hope within him that was from loving his son is diminishing. If someone doesn’t save him, he will drown in his own pain, ultimately loosing his humanity. That is when he will become a true beast.
I like the way you said that. His darkness is slowly killing him. I wonder if that will become an actual theme in the show? The idea of darkness slowly killing a person from the inside. Rumple started out as good and decent man, but the dark one’s power slowly began to eat away at him. I wonder if the dark one’s powers would actually kill the person it inhabits? That would be tragic.
