My favorite character is Rumpelstiltskin. I love his complex backstory, and Iām a sucker for the Beauty and the Beast storyline.
[adrotate group="5"]eternalflameParticipantI’m actually pretty partial to all of the Baelfire theories. My favorite one is him being Henry’s biological father, but I also love the idea of him being Peter Pan, Jack or the Wizard of Oz. š
eternalflameParticipantOMG!!! Thank you so much for posting these spoilers! I can’t wait until season 2 gets here! So much to look forward to! Rumbelle, Baelfire, Henry’s father, the Charmings, Captain Hook and the rivalry betwen Rumpel and Regina. GAH! So far, the episode that I’m looking forward to the most are Broken, We Are Both and The Crocodile. These episode sound like they have a lot of history and mythology to reveal. Can’t wait!
Once again, thank you so much for the article. š

How do you think the rest of the town are going to react to Rumple and Belle as a couple?
I can see some of the reactions being:
Belle’s father- horrified. Would probably think Rumple bewitched Belle or something and tricked her into loving him. Would also have the memory of Rumple beating him with his cane so would probably fear for Belle’s safety.
Charming- Would connect the dots of Belle being Rumple’s true love and then let them get on with their relationship.
Snow- Would probably be a bit surprised but accept it. May even befriend Belle.
Emma- Would see it as none of her business.
The rest of the town- May avoid Belle because of her association with Rumple.
I think you’re right on the dot with this. š
eternalflameParticipantLOVING the new shots of Emilie and Robert. š I’ve been waiting for what feels like forever to see these two onset.

Hopefully darker doesn’t necessarily mean evil.
Don’t worry. I don’t think Belle will ever become evil. But after spending 28 tears locked in a mental institution and being in love with Dark One, Belle will undoubtedly become a slightly different person than she was back in Fairytale land.
eternalflameParticipantOh yes! The “dark Belle” spoilers. I’m really interested to see where the writers take this. I think it has the potential to be very awesome. I like the idea of Belle and Rumpel being the exact opposite of Snow and Charming. Actually, maybe not too dark though. I don’t want it to go against Belle’s true nature.
eternalflameParticipantVery interesting theories in this thread. Here’s what I’m almost positive of.
1. Bae is either Henry’s father or Emma’s true love.
2. Bae landed in either Arizona or Boston
3. If Bae is in fact Henry’s father, then that makes Henry pretty powerful. He’ll be the son of two very powerful people who are connected to the curse.
4. Whatever Henry’s father did to gain Emma’s ire, it was either really bad, or they were both involved and there’s probably enough blame to go around.
5. Uh…that’s it. šI’m with you A Chipped Cup and Midnight Dreary, I really like theory of Bae being Henry’s father. It would answer quite a few questions about Henry. If Henry is indeed the child of both Emma and Bae, it would explain why he’s able to detect the curse. Maybe being the child of the two people who are directly connected to the curse makes him immune to its effects.
eternalflameParticipantI’m all for a slightly darker Belle. I just hope the writers don’t go too far with it.
And I love what Emilie said about the future of Belle and Rumpel’s relationship in season 2. š

In her final scene with Rumpel in Skin Deep, she was pleading with him to understand and change his mind. She wasn’t angry at him. She was trying to talk some sense into him. I thought it was quite obvious what the writers were trying to do. I actually thought Belle’s love for Rumpel was quite clear. When we see her again in Dreamy, she’s going on and on about true love and how valuable it is. She was obviously talking about Rumpel. She was hurt and still missed Rumpel. That was made abundantly clear.
I agree. Belle was obviously still in love with Rumpel when we saw her again in “Dreamy.” And the last scene between her and Rumpel in “Skin Deep” was about her trying to get Rumpel to review his actions. She was telling him to stop being a coward and face life. She was pleading with him. She wasn’t angry. That was evident by the fondness in which she spoke of him in “Dreamy.”
And like others have said, I wasn’t surprised at all by Belle’s reaction to Mr. Gold in the finale. They’re true love, so of course she’s going to be happy to see him. True love doesn’t just fade away. So actually, her rejecting Rumpel would have been out of character and would have screwed with the continuity of the show’s mythology. True love is true love. There are various different types of true love, but it’s love nonetheless. And no one has been able to stay away from their true love. There have been characters on this show who have resorted to killing because of the loss of their true love (Regina). So, of course Belle was going to be happy to see him again.
Exactly. I would have actually thought something was wrong or off if Belle rejected Mr. Gold in the finale. I would have thought that she was brainwashed or something. It’s already been proven that Belle and Rumpel are each other’s true loves. And having her all of a sudden being deathly afraid of him would disprove that. I know in the real world you can love someone and still be afraid of them. But like it or not, this show isn’t about the real world. It’s about fairytales and magic. Its rules for true love are different from those in the real world. It’s supposed to be pure and unyielding. There can’t be any doubt or fear in it. That would taint it, thus making it impure and not really true love. Normal love? Maybe. But true love? Definitely not.
