True, but then that means that more than one villain also “has it coming.” *CoughReginaCough*
Ah, of course. But if you notice, all the other villains, be it Cora, Regina or Hook, they paid their prices in some proportion already. Back in FTL Regina lost her battle with the Charmings and was banished from the land, nearly executed! In SB she lost her Mayor’s position and people were THAT close to killing her. She also lost Henry and everyone hates her.
Cora was stuck in mad Wonderland without her family for a long time and Hook lost Milah.
I’m not saying they paid their prices fully but if you notice Rumple caused even more havoc, playing on desperate souls, beating people with his cane or changing them into rats, and he was even the one who played on the buttons of our villains – yet he didn’t have to pay any consequences EVER. Even if he went to Granny’s diner (him and Belle’s meals), people would just leave him alone and not make any remarks on how come he’s there or reach for a knife… Yes, he lost his son but it was his own fault for being a coward, not a consequence of his wrongdoings.
So all in all, yes, he did have it coming, probably way more than any other villains.evilqueenParticipantA Chipped Cup, if you notice, we all agree on that.
The question was however, why is REGINA helping her, since the only reason why she joined her mother was to get Henry back and she shouldn’t be trusting her in anything. The only possible reason would be to eliminate Gold so that he cannot threaten Henry. I’m also a fan of the theory that Cora knows all along that Bae is Neal (I cannot see him being anyone else) and when she reveals it to Regina, she might freak out she will lose Henry for good?evilqueenParticipantBut Henry pointed out some time that he could only leave town to find Emma, because he was intending on coming back. Perhaps that is how the delivery people would work – no outsider could come to town so someone from Storybrooke would have to go out and bring things in – as long as they were certain to come back, this could’ve been possible?
evilqueenParticipantTo be honest, I really think Cora is the more powerful one. There are many many reasons:
– She probably learned absolutely everything she could from Rumple so they could be equals, but often she seems to know a lot more than he, not to mention she’s a lot more resourceful than him (for example the globe).
– She also ‘traveled through many worlds’ while he seemed to be using the Mad Hatter all the time. During her travels she surely encountered many things and tricks she learned.
– She also seems to be always a step ahead of everyone – much like Rumple – so that eventually he couldn’t use her to cast the curse?
– And we cannot forget that “love is weakness”. Cora doesn’t seem to have one and if it really is Regina, then well, she is powerful enough to defend herself. Rumple, on the other hand, has Belle and Bae, none of them know magic so they may really present weaknesses when it comes to threatening them.
– Cora also seem to be more cold-blooded. They are both manipulative but Rumple blew it all when he out of nowhere threatened the Charmings family. Things like that and he will not have any allies or anyone to listen to his manipulations. Cora is more diplomatic, she learned well from him how to play on people’s emotions and desperations and it seems to me like she really become better at it than her master. (not to mention that Rumple himself is a bit desperate right now)
– Everyone seem to know of Rumple’s weak point – the dagger, yet he seems to carry it with him everywhere – bad bad move! Cora is more sneaky about it and hid her heart and absolutely nobody has any idea where it might be. In my eyes Rumple is ‘more destructible’ than her, right this moment.
– The shear fact that Rumple is convinced that he is more powerful than Cora gives her a great advantage – people tend to underestimate the enemies they consider weaker.
– with just one sweep of her hand, Cora protected a vast piece of the Fairy Tale Land from Rumple’s meticulous curseevilqueenParticipant@Phee wrote:
They haven’t eliminated the theme entirely. Regina owns 1 or 2 (hundred) mirrors. 😉
That plus ALL HER AMAZING COSTUMES.
Also I think they are going to touch on Snow not being that nice in the future episodes in the flashback when her mom was still alive.evilqueenParticipantSee, to me this is more to do with the fact that they are reaching outside Storybrooke and this is what is causing the interaction. To me it seems like as long as they were to stay within town, nobody would know of their existence, even the government but as soon as someone is reaching ‘outside’, the details the are requiring would conveniently appear wherever they are needed. Nobody probably knew about MM until Henry using her card triggered that.
And yes, this was supposed to be a world without magic but still, it was a world with a curse in it and that curse (thanks to Rumple) more than likely, took care of all of those ‘minor’ problems. Rather than thinking that somewhere out there some magic created fake identity, I’m thinking more than this Magic or Power of the Curse was born either directly in Storybrooke, or even long before it – just when the curse was cast and came with the residents, just to act whenever it’s needed.evilqueenParticipantThis is an interesting thread.
As much as I think Rumple is a coward, I don’t think that this situation is an example for that. He was going to leave Belle anyway – finding Bae is his life priority, he was looking for the boy for so long and now he is SO CLOSE. And he WAS trying to remind her of who she was but when he failed miserably, I think it occured to him that this will require a lot more work than he thought and that right now he cannot let those feelings cloud his judgement when looking for Bae. Together with Cora presenting him with a quick solution (the globe) to finding his son, it seems to me like he weighted the odds and decided to focus on the original plan and the quicker he goes, the sooner he comes back and only then he can properly focus on Belle’s case rather than rushing her into things. Plus she clearly needed some space.January 26, 2013 at 3:23 pm in reply to: Why did they have to give Frankenstein a different brother? #170072evilqueenParticipant“William” just doesn’t sound German enough! 😆
