Marilou, i have no clue and I live here.
I’m not really bothered by the fact that MRJ and Jennefer don’t look the age they are supposed to. I mean some people are just easier to de-age then others. I think i would be more upset if they got someone else to play them for that one epp…
[adrotate group="5"]faux paxParticipantCeege, i have to say your break down on the Peter Pan theory hit the nail on the head in regards to every reason i have hated it from the first time i heard it. That, and i think it would mean the writers were taking the easy way out when it comes to Rumple getting his happy ending. I mean if Bae is a still a child in any form he wouldn’t have had the opportunity to really grow into the scars Rumple’s unbroken deal undoubtedly left. I want Rumple to see how his abandonment hurt Bae, even if Bae isn’t going to be a bad guy.
I love the idea of Hook and Aerial together and i think it’s still possible. Keep in mind that when the show refers to “true love” it NEVER says “one true love.” There’s a big difference there. I think OUAT’s definition of true love is a pure and unselfish love. Think about it; Emma kissed Henry and it worked, and there was nothing romantic about it. By that logic, Killina and Millah were true loves, they were willing to die for each other, but that doesn’t mean Hook can’t find love again.
One last thing. Was I the only one who noticed that Hook obviously knew about Neverland before he tossed the bean into the water? I have a theory on that. Maybe he was originally a lost boy for a period of time and then he got board of following Peter’s orders. It could explain why they were such bitter rivals. After all, In OUAT it can’t be because of the hand thing. I have a headcanon that Hook was Peter’s older brother before he took off, but i have absolutely nothing to support that. 😆

You have to understand that during that time period a lot of marriages were either arranged or because they were ‘comfortable’ and they got married before Rumple became the village coward. It’s entirely possible that he accepted long ago that she doesn’t love him (i don’t think he realised just how much she despised him, but that’s a little different).
I really like what others were saying about that whole ‘How could you leave Bae?’ bit really being that he was projecting his own self loathing onto her…at least mostly. I won’t deny that there would be some hard feelings, but i think it was mostly him.
P.S. Trickster, just out of courisity, is your name a nod to one of my favrote supernatural characters? 😉 :ugeek:

What bothers me is how people want to turn Milah into this Cora-level monster when, if you look at it from her perspective, she did what she thought was best.
faux paxParticipantI really hate the theory that Rumple isn’t Bae’s biological father (Milla not being his mother doesn’t sit well with me either, but I don’t know why). Whether or not Bae and Rumple share blood, it WOULDN’T MATTER to Rumple at all, but i think if it turns out that he’s not, then i think it would cheapen everything Rumple has done for him in the eyes of some of the audience. I can see the post now…”So sad, after all Rumple had done to get to Bae and get him to forgive him, he’s not really his son. what a waste of Rumple’s time…”
faux paxParticipantIf they do bring in peter (which I am praying is not Bae–but that’s a rant for another thread), I hope they get more into why Peter and Hook were such rivals. And now that we know it was Rumple that cut off the hand, it’s going to have to be something good.
Syfy channel had a miniseries called “Neverland” which explored this a bit more. In that show, Hook was kind of a mentor to Peter but when they got to Neverland he hooked up with a female pirate and chose the “grown-up” feeling of lust over the boys who looked up to him. There’s more to it than that, but it’s an interesting take on why peter and Hook hate each other and why Peter is fighting the idea of being a grown up so hard.
faux paxParticipantI like that they didn’t make him evil. He has a score to settle with Rumple–and rightly so–and nothing to lose. That makes him dangerous. But he did love Milla and tried to protect her and he was fair with Smee. So he would seem like a decent guy.
Was I the only one, though, that kind of thought he was trying a little too hard to match Jack Sparrow’s accent? O’Donohue is great and yummy, but there was no chance anyone could pull that off but Depp.
October 22, 2012 at 4:42 pm in reply to: Rumple just keeps digging himself deeper and deeper… #157635faux paxParticipantI think that because Rumple is the more favored character out of those two, some people want to excuse everything he’s done. Truth is, I don’t think Milla was teasing him heartlessly, I think she was telling him a hard truth the he couldn’t take. Pile that on top of the fact that he was projecting his own self loathing over what happened to Bae onto her, and most of the fault lies at the Crock’s scaly feet…
faux paxParticipantI just cannot see that at all after last night’s episode because I think revealing what Rumple did to a young Bae would just be wrong not that I want to see older Bae learn the truth, but I know it’s going to happen eventually and an older Bae could handle it better, at least as well as one can, after finding out something like that.
I love this point. It’s not something i’ve really considered before, but you’re right; with all the drama that is bound to unfold, it would be cruel to have Bae be a kid, still fresh from his father’s abandonment.
I have always rooted for the grown-up Bae theory for a couple reasons. I’m a big SwanFire fan and want him to be Henry’s dad. And I think that having him be a little kid would make it too easy for Rumple. A lot of people want him to have his happy ending, and i agree, but the show wouldn’t be good if he didn’t have to earn it.
Besides, am I the only one looking forward to maybe some sort of Bromance between Hook and Bae? I mean he was kind of his step-dad, and I’m sure Hook would care for him at least somewhat, given how much he meant to Milla.
October 22, 2012 at 2:20 pm in reply to: Rumple just keeps digging himself deeper and deeper… #157586faux paxParticipantThe only thing that allows Rumple to get away with pure evil, is the fact H&K will just blame it all on the darkone curse- so if/when he finally lets go of magic/power he will be able to be totally redeemed- In some ways that is kind of a cop-out tho—- at least in my eyes it is.
But he will still have to deal with the consequences of what he did. I don’t see Bae forgiving him for so much, especially since Rumple killed his mom and a whole bunch of other things like the cure. This will be all the worse because i think he will find out about this stuff one at a time.
