Francisco CasalsParticipant
Is not uncommon to kill a God in a TV show. Actually, another fiction TV shows around Greek mythology Hercules The Legendary Journeys & Xena Warrior Princess, had different “methods” to kill gods. I knew Zelena will end up killing Hades because she can’t possibly kill THE main character in OUAT. I was disappointed that Zeus only made a cameo and that they casted someone so young, if Hades is the younger brother and the actor looks like in his late 40s early 50s is ridiculous that the older brother is 20 or so years younger! They did it with Merlin but they had to screw Zeus too? It would had been cool have a flashback of Hades & Zeus but it wasn’t going to fit in this episode, a more deserving screen time was given to Robin Hood prior his demise. It is upseting that Regina is a widow ONCE AGAIN but Robin Hood was a decoration in the show. Sure, he had few episodes that featured him (particularly season 4), but hmm… who’s going to miss him? It also makes sense to kill him in order for Regina & Zelena to bond and raise the kids together as sisters unless of course the show creators decide to throw stuff in the fan again and screw that family too.
Now that Belle’s father refuses to wake her up I’m asumming Rumple will somehow garner the power of the Olympian crystal to wake up Belle. And for the God of love Eduardo Castro, can you take that ugly beanie from Emma’s head?!! How about everyone to get a costume change too huh? As much as I love Regina’s coat I’m already tired of seeing in every episode!!! ?

Waaaaaaay back in S1 and early S2, someone sat down and wrote out every instance of Smoke on ONCE and who was associated with it and what was going on when it happened. So far as I can tell, Regina almost always uses PURPLE and Zelena almost always uses GREEN (the latter seems to be a nice call back to OZ and that myth); Rumple uses red, especially if he vanishes. Pan’s smoke was Green but when Regina cast her curse in S1 it was black. I’m not sure they are specifically associated with one person anymore.
With Regina, only the Evil Queen used black and Regina per se used purple. I think it have to do with the intention now that I think it through. I think each color means a certain emotion or motivation. Green it’s fair to say it’s associated with wickedness as Rumple reappear to Zelena after he fooled her and when Peter Pan recast the Dark Curse, that’s a theory.
Francisco CasalsParticipantbut then why have regina that letter. She said she read it during training. She did go to WL to get her father out, maybe she get the letter by training when her mother visisted her and took Henry with her. That was always missing and could fit.
Regina didn’t said she read the letter during training, she said she read the letter in times of solace, etc. which means she discovered when she was already the Evil Queen, but what’s tricky is that let’s say she find the letter in Cora’s crypt (after she died last season) when Rumple gave Cora this letter if this timeline right?
Francisco CasalsParticipantI thought tonight young Regina, wearing blue and with pigtails, looked an aweful lot like Dorothy.
I have no clue about the timeline, but I still like the thought that the slippers are Ruby’s slippers. The Ruby slippers (along with other iconic 1939’s movie things) are copyrighted by MGM and can’t be used by Disney however, since Disney does have access to the OZ book’s original content they can use the silver slippers which are in fact as they were written.
Francisco CasalsParticipantZelena as Dorothy, don’t make sense. Dorothy like Walsh are from Kansas, my guesses are that Dorothy defeated Zelena thus taking possession of the silver slippers and prompting Zelena to the Enchanted Forest to seek a new chance. There’s also a chance that Dorothy and Zelena haven’t met yet and it’s only Dorothy the one able to defeat Zelena just like in the book.
Looking at the scenes and Regina’s costume, Zelena travels to the Enchanted Forest right after Regina pushes Cora through the looking glass and she’s convinced to stay and learn magic. Everything else, (The Doctor episode) happened after that but before Regina fully transformed into the Evil Queen. Also, take in consideration that when Jefferson and Rumpleskinski talk about the slippers this was written before coming up with season 3 plot. So I wouldn’t go for season 2 material so much for clues, although the writers will come up with a way to re conciliate those dialogues.
Francisco CasalsParticipantIf it’s brain, courage, heart, that’s three elements, which is similar to how they changed the laws of magic in WL, with three Genies. Each of those three Genies could maybe be classified as one of the three elements Zelena needs – Cyrus had bravado, so he’s the courage, his older brother seemed to be the stern, worried one, so he’s the brain, and the younger brother just seemed like a sweet kid, so he’s the heart. So maybe Zelena is basically just trying to cast the same spell as Jafar and Amara.
I’m glad you brought up WL because as I was watching, I kept thinking “this isn’t how you change the laws of magic.” So I don’t know what Jafar needed 3 genies and Zelena needs courage, heart, and brains.
Zelena it’s not trying to change the rules of magic, she wants to travel to the past in order to change it, somewhat similar but not the same. It’s interesting that in this episode it’s revealed that magic is in fact an innate gift when in the past everybody have to “learn” magic: Cora, Regina, Emma, etc. This changes the rules of the game and thus the “impossible” possibility to travel to the past might be indeed posible with the appropriate spell (the ingredients Zelena is collecting).
Also, what happened in OZ that prompted Zelena to get back to the Enchanted Forest at this precise moment (after Regina destroyed the first curse herself) and not anytime before (before Regina even cast the Dark Curse in the first place) after all, it seems she already master her powers before Regina did hers.
