Originally thought it was The Darkness somehow finding out a way to escape again and took on rumple’s physical form just for kicks. A rumplestilstkin who lost everything, seemingly almost consumed by the darkness all the way, and is utterly hopeless and a wildcard goes back to the shows roots and already makes him compelling enough. Robert’s final performance of him facing off against his absolute dark version will be fun. Curious what plan he got in mind

I really liked this episode and puts the show in a good position to end on a right note. While their were some problems around the episode, overall it hit all the right emotional notes, especially with Lana and Andrew together in a scene.
liked-
the scene between henry and Regina as she desperately tried to wake him up was tear inducing. Regina realizing her son can’t even remember her and the fact that of how henry was particularly alone, depressed and destroyed as a person was so real and tragic and brought out completely into light was a tough watch. This scene alone shows the real life damage that this particular Dark curse has done, which elevated drastically the stakes for me of why it needs to be broken much more then gothel’s generic doomsday almost ending the world, with her nature apocalypse thing. stellar acting from those two.
The storybrooke scenes- best kind of nostalgia. definitely one of my favorites. Real life situations, mixed with fairytale antics is what we signed up for. Henry going off to college, graduating, and Regina actually doing mayor things was welcomed.
henry phone call. Whenever a character wakes up from a curse it usually makes for a good scene and this one was great. Surprisingly I enjoyed the older henry talking to the young, it was very heartwarming
loved how the curse was broken, all the characters on the same playing field, the reunions, Alice’s speech to gothel, and the plot moving forward in the right direction
wish rumple final antagonist, honestly concern aside on the execution it will have in the finale, this is a perfect way to finish off the show and makes a hell lot more sense then gothel, facilier, tremaine, or drizella even(despite liking her) that and Robert acting his ass off for the finale sounds like an ideal watch
mixed
-facilier, gothel, coven, all wrapped up and disposed of to make room for wish rumple. All lacked development,(facilier especially, and gothel was only alright enough at best, with a backstory that doesn’t make much sense at all, none for coven either. All of them a waste of time basically.
-weird not seeing Emma at all. I know Regina and Emma prob have like a every other week plan prob on where henry lives, but it would of been nice to see Emma share a moment with henry during this time
-I find it funny how Cinderella, Lucy, tiana, are prob benched for a good dose of the finale. These characters didn’t live up to potential for various reasons, and at least the writers are aware of putting the key players in front for finale.

nothing in particular annoyed me all that much. Even plot holes were filled in kinda decently. Where henry got his bean to leave storybrooke was answered, and while the curse sending them all back in time prob won’t add up if we analyze the timeline, it kinda makes sense. It’s a good reason why our characters couldnt have gone to storybrooke because it could screw up timelines and was a surprisingly innovative use of the curse on gothel’ end
freytormParticipantTrue it is strange they keep using curse names, especially for the characters after the original curse was broken. But I guess I could understand why they’re still referred to as such for this season since the curse still isn’t broken, and they still have to pretend with the other characters that they r still cursed.
freytormParticipanteh, at this point why not, she prob the last villain backstory we ever gonna have from the show. I’m wondering what’s gonna be the endgame final battle from the show, gothel, facilier, some other random evil

In a way unless I’m forgetting, it’s the first time we have a character that’s just a regular human guy in real life with absolute no fairytale, cursed, from a story, or legend, science, magic or Disney connection that isn’t background or one episode guy either and see how that plays in the show
freytormParticipantSomething tells me I’m just gonna love Zelena’s cursed persona, even if her character sucks, or is written badly, or has crappy dialogue, just because I’m sure Rebecca Mader will give everything into this role, and ham it up
freytormParticipantI have a feeling they either might do a flash forward in the enchanted forest where years later drizella announced her curse is complete and about to be cast, or might just show the curse itself and what they did to protect Lucy during its casting or before
freytormParticipantGee. I’m so shocked! She’s Rapunzel!
Yeah I find it odd they didn’t even try to keep this a surprise a little bit.

I figure they’re purposely not making it out as any major plot twist for the viewers. They’ve been laying a lot of seeds for Tremaine’s unique past in the show, and especially in the spoilers. How the reveal will effect the characters is prob the bigger element, and admittedly it is intriguing will get to see Tremaine’s tragic beginnings when she was known as rapunzel of all things they decided to do with her story. At least more interesting then the first bland rapunzel story they made.
