Now that we’ve seen that physical Peter is a bad guy, and that the lost boys answer directly to him rather than to his shadow, I’m thinking that the shadow is Peter’s good aspect. The lost boys were about to kill Greg and Tamara, and maybe what we saw was the shadow rescuing what it could.

We have only met one previous dark one too though, maybe he can only summon the spirit of the one he himself killed?
I like this as a fantasy story element, but I’m not sure it fits OUAT. Zoso was so desperate to escape his curse that I can’t see him choosing to be a slave to his successor. Of course, he might not have known about this clause in the contract.
