I liked this episode a lot. It was dark, but it didn’t take itself too seriously.
    Some favourite moments:
    – the doctor dressed as The (4th) Doctor
    – Disney celebrating its big acquisition from King George
    – Emma banging her head in frustration
    – the return of Cool Igor

Oh, Maleficent is totally Phillip’s mom. She’s a dragon, he’s a fire lion, and she doesn’t like her son’s girlfriend and so goes to extremes to keep them apart.

That would be really fun to watch, but I don’t think it will happen; a non-lethal bullet wound isn’t a problem for a guy who can reattach arms, and I can’t see Rumpel letting them put Belle back in the basement.

Neal might not have had a car of his own, but he knows how to get one when he needs one.

Er… Let’s avoid contentious political issues here, please.

I’ve been wondering if the power of the Dark One is not a curse at all but is instead — or, at least, was originally meant to be — a solemn duty, and that, when the Dark One can no longer bear the responsibility, he is meant to give the dagger to his trusted successor. Kind of a morbid thought, but it seems in keeping with old-style fairy tales.

Also, I like how this dagger has the Dark One’s name on it. I don’t think any character has used that line yet, but I’m sure it’s coming.

I’m shocked that they found Archie so soon. I thought we would get two or three episodes of Cora manipulating Regina as Regina tried more and more desperately to resist the temptation to return to evil since she had lost everything. Instead, Emma and Henry now know she is innocent of Archie’s murder and Emma is probably going to feel a little guilty that she doubted Regina (or Regina will be sure to make her feel guilty.) This could make Emma more likely to let Regina have some time with Henry, which could only serve to help strengthen Regina’s resolve to reform and help her resist Cora’s schemes.

So, it seems the writers have squandered an opportunity for an extended dramatic story for Regina by foiling Cora’s plan so early. Knowing these writers however, I suspect Cora is going to cook up an unexpected new plan that will come at Regina from a different direction. I can’t wait to see what it is!

How about if the newly-rescued town conscience is actually Cora in disguise? I know, the “What if X is really Cora?” speculation is way past the point of being a novel thought. I’d like to see Archie be evil for a few episodes, though.

I think Neal is safe (so far). Someone — probably the victim — had to tell Cora about Archie, and the Storybrooke people all know Dr. Hopper for helping them adjust to their dual identities, but Neal would’ve had other things on his mind since arriving in town.

For Cora to keep a low profile, it’d be best for her to kill a cricket or a frog and turn that into fake-Archie. Fewer questions that way.

Gold’s comment about sheepdogs makes him sound like Peter Pan. Also, it has me hoping that George will get the Shaggy D.A. treatment.
