GaultheriaParticipant
So best guess: they find Hook’s soul, take out his heart (even though it’s not a physical one), crush it or leave it in hell, and give him half of Emma’s. And then he can just walk out of there, somehow totally reconstituted.
Even though he is buried in Storybrook.
Hook needs a new body anyway; his original body has that severed vein that can’t be healed.
On a serious note, though, I think Emma could use her heart as a container to carry Hook’s soul, like with Pan’s shadow and the coconut. Just long enough to smuggle his soul out of the underworld and reinstall it. It would be the reverse of the all too common rip-heart-out trick which has long since lost its dramatic impact.

GaultheriaParticipantThat’s season 7. A portal opens at the end of S6, Baby Snowflake falls through and then the final scene is some mysterious man riding in on a motorbike, stops and Granny’s, find’s Snow and Charming and greets them with “Hi Mom and Dad.”
“Are you Mary Margaret? My name’s Neal. I’m your son.”

GaultheriaParticipantI think this is the kind of cognitive activity A&E seem to be attributing to us, their show’s audience. They are assuming that if a storyline or character arc worked before, it’s enough for this audience to simply repeat it ad nauseum,
They keep hearing “Give us more [favourite character] and [favourite relationship]; show us our fanfic”, so I think they end up feeling that they ought to write something for those parts of the audience, but it seems to just divert resources into episodes and plotlines that fail to rise above the level of “watchable, sort of”.

GaultheriaParticipantAnother thing that hurts about Rumple becoming the Dark One again is that he chose to do so as a mere mortal man. This wasn’t Rumple with the darkness inside him manipulating him. He 100% willingly chose to go that route all on his own.
I think it makes sense for Rumpel’s character. With his leg magically healed by Hook, Rumpel had a reminder of just how good it feels to be able to wave problems away. As a former user, Rumpel was doing okay in recovery until Hook spiked his punch.
Also, the thing about Rumpel’s fear reminded me of Timothy Zahn’s novel Angelmass. One of its plot points involves people wearing medallions that make them peaceful by taking away their fear; for the most part, their disputes don’t turn into preemptive strikes or massive retaliation, and so people are more willing to work toward constructive solutions. But for some people, it was fear of being caught and punished that had been keeping their criminal ambitions in check; the medallions have the opposite effect on this group than on the majority of the population.

GaultheriaParticipantI think Hook will end up as the next Charon, not exactly free from the underworld but not exactly a prisoner. This show has got to do Pirates of the Caribbean sometime.

GaultheriaParticipantIf it’s not Felicity….then I’ve got to go with Diggle, and that’s exactly how I see it going as described by @Phee. Crying Oliver is desperately trying to save a dying Diggle, they make amends, Diggle makes Oliver promise to look after his wife and daughter, “cue Wicked’s For Good Music”, Diggle dies, and Oliver loses it.
Diggle hasn’t had much to do recently, so for the sake of drama I think his character needs to leave or change — and Curtis certainly needs to get Diggle’s T-mask at some point.
I predict retirement to a quiet family life for Diggle.

GaultheriaParticipantWhich is why I now wonder whether we’ll be going to the Underworld, or will the Underworld come to us? I think these folks have been resurrected.
So, they skipped out on bail, and there’s a bail bondsperson in town? I think Emma works much better as an action hero detective than as a sorceress, so this is good news to me.

It’s also Indonesian for “monkey”.

I think it’s not so much a reforging as an undoing, the first step in restoring the Grail and returning the water that was stolen from it to make the Dark One. Stolen magic needs to be returned, like in Wonderland, and “undoing” has special meaning to the Dark One.
Even knowing that it will kill Hook, Emma might be willing to complete the restoration of the Grail now that she understands how much worse off Hook is as a horcrux.
