ParticipantYeah, Emma did tell Regina that -‘the father doesn’t even know’.
‘Neal Cassady’ is obviously an alias, so, I’m guessing the DOB is just a made up date.
The year 1977 could just be a LOST nod. They used that year (with much significance) as well.
It is also connected to Stephen King’s Dark Tower series…one of the characters, Jake, lives in 1977 NY…the scene in OUAT where Rumple lets go of Bae and he falls through the vortex is the exact same thing that happens to Jake in the book.
Also, Stephen King wrote ‘Dreamcatcher’ and the story begins, I believe, in 1977. In describing one of the main characters (the hero- Duddits Cavell) SK says: ” The fact that he had Down Syndrome made him like Peter Pan.” (able to travel through worlds, albeit, telepathically)

ParticipantI am very familiar with Kitsis and Horowitz, and Damon Lindelof (he is a consultant for OUAT). I am a huge LOST fan 🙂
While I do agree with you that the fact that Snow’s mother ‘died’ is essentiail to the plot, I honestly feel that part of the story was said and done, and that K&H left it up to us to understand that part.
I feel, at this point, they don’t need to go into all of that, as it would just seem like an unecessary sub- plot, imo.As with LOST, I don’t think they are going to explain every little detail.
That is part of the big controversy with LOST, to this day. A lot of ppl say that they left too many questions unanswered, where as I feel they left some things to the viewers imagination/opinion.They seem to be pretty straight forward with OUAT, which makes it a bit easier to follow than LOST was 🙂

ParticipantSnow lost her mother sometime before she was like, 10yrs old, that was evident in The Stable Boy. In Fruit of the Poisonous Tree, King Leopold tells Snow that she reminds him of her ‘Dearly Departed Mother”. No, that’s not definitive proof that Snow’s mother is dead, but, some things are alluded to because the brilliant writers figure we, the viewing audience/fans, will just ‘get it’ without it having to explained in detail.

ParticipantYes, TheGoldenKey’s theory is awesome! I’m sticking with Neal/Bae/Peter Pan. The name Neal Cassady just has waaaay too many clues connected to it. I haven’t seen any other clues connecting any other character to Neal/Bae.

ParticipantI don’t really see how that could be possible. They seem to be around the same age. In fact, Aurora looks younger than Snow. Everyone remained the age they were when the curse hit 28 yrs ago, so, they have always been around the same age.

ParticipantYes, and the ton of clues connecting the name Neal Cassady to Peter Pan!

ParticipantI must say, I thought the same thing. Neal is not Dean. This would make more sense if K&H named Henry’s father Dean Moriarty, but they didn’t, they named him Neal Cassady, for a reason.
The fact that Neal was the basis for Kerouac’s character is only one aspect of Neal’s life.He was the inspiration for the character ‘Mac’ (Jack Nicholson’s role) in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
He was also well known for the Beat Generation, the Merry Pranksters, and the psychadelic drug movement.
The movie Magic Trip, with the Grateful Dead, the infamous trek from San Francisco to NY in “Further”, the songs by the Dead…..all just as big a part of Neal Caassady and who he was and why he’s well known to this day. There were many actual nods and clues to those aspects of Neal Cassady.

ParticipantWell, there are waaay too many connections between Neal Cassady and Peter Pan, and I don’t see Neal being Peter Pan without also being Bae….there wouldn’t really be a reason to have Neal be PP unless he was also Bae.
That’s just my opinion.TheGoldenKey has a pretty convincing theory about Bea/Henry’s father/Peter Pan, and this ties right in with it.
But, I guess we will see 🙂

ParticipantJust because the Blue Fairy said Bae was going to a land without magic, doesn’t mean he went there- first. We all know the BF lies. If Bae/Peter Pan went to Neverland, that would explain his not aging. PP could travel freely between Neverland and our world. If he happened to be in our world when the curse struck, that could have made him be stuck here and start aging. Rumple wrote the curse to take him to where Bae was- at the time of the curse- which was our world.
IDK, for sure, but, it’s plausible 🙂 -
