ParticipantRegina touched on that subject in S1eps 2. When enacting the curse and she asked everyone gathered around, for a lock of hair ‘from the darkest souls’….she said to them aren’t you all tired of losing?

ParticipantNeal Cassady could possibly Jack, but, I still think he’s Bae/PP/Henry’s dad.
I don’t think Gold/Rumple could have found out about Neal Cassay during the 28 yr curse or had contact with him, considering that Rumple didn’t get his memory back until Emma said her name at Granny’s B&B (confirmed by K&H).
It is fun guessing, though 🙂

ParticipantMellie – I totally agree 🙂

ParticipantLol! I agree…there is much more to AWB’s name than that 🙂
And you’re right about Damon and Carlton…I like that we had to figure some thing’s out for our selves and also that, some thing’s were left to individual interpretation and answered directly…and I won’t be surprised if OUAT is the same way. I love the way Damon put it…LOST definitely should not have had an ‘Architect’ ending lol

ParticipantRumplesGirl…not willing to give up, either! I really believe Bae is Peter Pan 🙂
As far as choosing the name for himself, idk? I would like to know that myself…same with August..who chose that ‘real world’ name …him?
And if Bae(?) and Pino did choose their their names, what made them choose those names imparticular? Especially, Neal Cassady? (as soon as I saw that name, I immediately thought of The Dead- “Cassidy” is one of my favorite songs-yes, it’s spelled diff).Being that you are also a LOSTie, you know how important names were in LOST, as well as OUAT.
Then again, they never really spelled out the ‘hows’ or ‘whys’….the importance of the names seem to be be left up to us to figure out!

ParticipantTrickster- to use your example- telling someone “You’re not my brother” doesn’t necessarily allude to the fact that the person saying it does, in fact, have a brother. “Brother” doesn’t always mean sibling. My family has belonged to a MC Club for over 25 yrs and there are over 90 members. Of course they are not all blood related, yet, they refer to each other as ‘Brother’.
If a rival club member approached one of them and addressed them as ‘Brother’, the natural response would be, “You’re not my brother.”

ParticipantAbout Dean never finding his father, I don’t necessarily think that is reflective of Bae/Rumple’s situation. Dean was a character…if they had named the Mystery Man Dean Moriarty, then, I would think along those lines. But, Neal Cassady being the ‘role model’ for Kerouac’s character is just one small part of the real Neal Cassady.
Neal was also the role model for the character ‘Mac’ in the movie “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”, and while they did nod to that movie on OUAT, the character, Mac doesn’t really have much to do with the Bae/Rumple situation, either.
I believe K&H weren’t pointing at the ‘characters’ associated with Neal Cassady so much as the real person.
I posted before: Neal Cassady was also known for the documentary “Magic Trip” along w/ The Grateful Dead, where Neal drove the ‘Further’ bus from San Fran to NY. He earned the name Cowboy, and The Dead wrote a song about Neal and the trip, “The Other One”. A line in that song: “Cowboy Neal, at the wheel , on the bus to Never Never Land”.
The trip itself ties in with NY.
The bus ties in with the Peter Pan Bus Co. based in NY.The Grateful Dead ties in with the Geronimo Jackson clues- sticker on Emma’s car, CD in Henry’s backpack, sticker on Neal’s phone.
Geronimo Jackson is a fictitious 60’s band, based on The Dead, created by K&H for LOST.They also used the name Dean Moriarty in LOST on (Ben’s) passport, but the use of the name was not reflective of that character’s situation, either.

ParticipantUsing the Black Unicorn was also a nod to the Black Stallion connected to Kate Austen’s storyline on LOST…it appeared on and off Island.

ParticipantOr maybe his statement “You’re not my Prince” was just an indication that he was from a different world where Prince Charming didn’t exist as a real person.
trickster- I think his ‘price’ for magically having his arm re-attached was that Rumple made him admit that he needed magic.
That being said, I would love for them to include Dracula…I love all the old classic horror movies 🙂
gypsy
ParticipantYeah, TheGoldenKey was just commenting about Jane Espensen’s tweet about Dracula on the live podcast a few hours ago…I think she posted about it earlier today somewhere, can’t remember where….a new clue?
