ParticipantI thought this episode was pretty bad. Regina interacting with children is ridiculous. There is nothing that she could say that should make wish Henry be okay with her murdering his grandparents. Our Emma is actually this Henry’s mother and that is just awful to think of and the implications that she just left him like she left adult Henry.
The Regina/wish Henry stuff is going to continue into the next episode and just like how it was unrealistic when Emma and Henry wanting Regina around in Season 2, it will be even more terribly unrealistic that wish Henry will give Regina a chance. This is absolutely terrible writing and just a throw back to the first major writing error on this show when they let Regina be part of the group and Henry randomly started wanting to be around her even though she neglected and abused him for ten years.
All the random characters really had no point to them. The plot was all just random events. The Henry will be his undoing thing is just them trying to fix another major error. Them mocking the timeline is terrible especially because they continue to say in interviews that it makes sense when it does not. Instead of keeping track and writing a coherent narrative, they just make fun of the viewers for not understanding.
The writers just do not understand anything to do with how people really are and their characterization is just a complete mess.
I did not like this episode and was really reminded why i am ready for the show to be over.

ParticipantIt would have been interesting if the last season of the show where the Blue Fairy was the main villain and they brought back a bunch of the old characters so that all the realms could fight against the person that had been manipulating them the entire time.

ParticipantIt seems odd to me that Henry is wearing a suit in the coronation scene.

ParticipantThe producers just don’t know what is interesting.

ParticipantThey are just acting like trash people and lying again. I definitely think Emma is only in the one group scene and she is holding her second child the whole time and that is why they are using that shot of Emma from the pilot.
Though, that shot might be shown because of them blowing out the candles, but still.

ParticipantThey really need to stop talking about Snow holding a sword. She held her husband’s sword. That is not some sort of great moment of female empowerment. She never had her own sword. She carried one a few times, but it was rare she was part of the battles. Emma’s only sword was her father’s sword and Neal’s sword.
All of the women’s happy endings were just getting married and having babies. Most of them got married to men who did not remotely deserve them. I can’t believe they are still talking about the pilot of this show. They really need to get over themselves. There are shows twenty years older that did more to show complex and flawed and powerful women then this nonsense.
I love that scene in the pilot, but these guys need to grow up and join the 21st century.

ParticipantThis is one of those things though that there is no reason that Rumpel stabbing the wish Rumpel would work. It is just going to. The real way it should work should be because he changed, not just because he stabs his fake other self that just happened to be wished into existence. It should be about a choice he made and not just random nonsense.
This is better though then it could be and maybe there will be some good dialogue along with it. That is the best we can hope for.

ParticipantI actually agree. Rumpel should have to change to break the dark one curse. This is better then a lot of ways it could go. At least, it is better if it is just about Rumpel taking then just the mechanics of it.
I think they could have done a lot better with the “redemption” arcs then what they did. For all the villains.

ParticipantI agree. The idea of Rumpel finally have a moment is good, but this does cheapen it. I think that the Blue Fairy should have been the final villain against Rumpel instead of what they did with adding in the black fairy. Rumpel doing his will they, won’t they against a real character that has been around for awhile would have been much better then this fake Rumpel.
This show really made a huge writing error with all these half season arc villains because you just know that nothing is going to come of it. They come. They talk. They die. There has been no build of story and character in years. There has been no twisting of the stories in years. Instead, stuff just randomly pops up out of nowhere and then they have filler for half a season and they die and that’s it.
Hopefully, this will be mostly about them letting Rumpel talk and not fake Rumpel.

ParticipantI liked the scene with old Henry talking to young Henry and his memories returning and reuniting with Lucy. It should have happened in the fifth episode of the season, but these writers are terrible. I liked the curse breaking scene. Alice and Robyn reuniting was great. They had multiple nice moments.
The flashback scenes with Regina just did not work for me. Henry living with Regina is ridiculous. Emma not being mentioned or part of those scenes does not work. Regina giving him her car is ridiculous. They have never passed the place where it is reasonable that Regina be allowed around a child. I know that people like that and they rewrote Regina over the seasons to make her a new character, and i like that character and how she interacts with the world and the adults. That doesn’t change what she has done in the past to Henry and to other children, so pretending that she is a reasonable person to help raise a child is still a no for me. Especially, in light of what this show could have been if they thought about anything and really worked Regina through all that stuff instead of just rewriting her and pretending that stuff didn’t happen.
I liked that most of the nonsense was over in this episode. Like Gothel, Facilier, and the witches.
Rumpel deciding not to kill was good. I liked the idea of the crazy Rumpel. This could give Rumpel a way to talk about all of his mistakes and the evil he did in his attempts to find Bae, but i am not sure that the writers get all that or get what makes sense in this situation. They have made it too much about doing right to get to be with Belle. That is all stupid and repetitive and Rumpel should do the right thing because it is worth doing and not just to get something out of it. It is what it is though and enough of a reason and deus ex machina way to destroy the dark one curse.
