I don’t know where to put this, but Eddy talking about their writing week at around 6:15 before the season starts and he mentions Emma dying as being part of their plan for the season. Ginny starts laughing then they try and play it off. After actually seeing it, i am still not sure what to think. I sort of think Eddy is an idiot, but he still might have just meant Emma’s will she won’t she die arc and called it Emma dying in short hand. They were really trying to cover hard for it though. I don’t know.

Emma might die, but everyone dies on this show and comes back except Neal and Graham.

I can’t believe they are continuing with Designated Survivor. I just feel like that show would be expensive to make and it just isn’t good. I only watched a few, so maybe it got better, but that really does show how little they have to work with right now.

I am so glad there is only two more weeks of this. I just have a hard time with it being funny because this show is not funny. It is funny because we see interviews of these actors and see them as real people and they aren’t supposed to be that here. They are supposed to be their characters. I don’t really care if the cast has a good time. Maybe that is unkind, but i don’t, especially while i am watching the epsiode. This is a tv show and i want what happens to feel consistent and earned and all the things that good writers can do that this show can not.

I think this episode could be fun as like this is silly and stupid and why are these people singing and having fun, but i am in too deep and have too many problems with the writing to really feel that way about what is going on the show right now.

    They look a lot alike.

Have you ever read the book? Even if not, it doesn’t need to end well, I think. I think story is perfectly set up to show that things don’t well a lot of the times. (book spoiler in black below!) I’m actually really curious how this season or next season ends. Will they take Atwood’s approach of throwing us several hundred years into the future and having a conference on Gilead trying to figure out who Ofred was Second, as far as not explaining how it happened, Ofred does give some insight around episode two. She talks about how it began by blaming events on terrorists which led to a suspension of the Constitution and freedoms under the guise of “protection” and how Congress was eventually slaughtered. And then finally Gilead (Ofred’s current home which is the former East Coast of America) was born out of these events, a theocratic military dictatorship. Third, as far as realism…I’m not trying to open this to a political debate but given the current American situation, American President, and certain executive orders, ideologies…well. I can easily see the threads of a Handmaid’s Tale scenario coming about *now* more than any time in the past.

I would agree that the show doesn’t have to end well. It just feels more pointless to me that way. I have watched the first three episodes and seen some of the explanation to what happen. I just find it extremely unrealistic, especially based on what is going on in the United States right now. I am quite certain people aren’t sitting in a corner just letting things happen. There are constant protests. The park service. The judges stepping in on those executive orders.

Though this is a different situation in the show, in that, something catastrophic has happened. People aren’t able to have babies anymore which is world ending. I just think the ritualistic bizarre thing that is happening here is not what would happen. Descending into chaos, maybe, but not this. Violence, sure, but this. I just don’t know.

I think people are trying to equate this to current things going on in the US, but people not wanting tax payer money to fund an organization that does abortions because they believe that is wrong, seems a long way from ritualized sexual slavery. Maybe it is because i am from Ohio and i know people that voted for Bush and for Clinton and for Obama and for Trump and that doesn’t seem weird to me. Even if i may disagree completely with who they voted for.

That not allowing one group to have control for too long is more of the game then all of these social issues. I don’t know. There have only been three episodes and i have enjoyed them for what they were.

There are so many dangling threads on this show. I don’t get how Eddy can say that with a straight face, but he really has no clue what has actually happened on the show.

They should have just got married in the loft, in their street clothes. This makes no sense to me that Emma, or Snow for that matter, would want a wedding like this.

Seriously, can someone just kill Jaha already? Why is anyone listening to that guy still? They have a limited amount of space and if these people are not mentally prepared to be trapped somewhere again then well let them be, for goodness sake.

I think Raven is going to go up into space and be saved. Didn’t they say they could save her up there? Then maybe she will be able to do something about the radiation. I could see them deus ex machina this somehow. Maybe creating some sort of safe zone somehow.

I understand what they were trying to do with the whole Clarke wasn’t born a nightblood so her becoming one artificially mocks their religion, but it is still their religion. I am not sure that it actually makes sense in a lot of ways. It is no less arbitrary then people being born a nightblood though, i guess, that could be gods will instead of the will of a person.

I look forward to the big fight and i am glad Octavia is back for it.

I am not sure how i feel about this show. I guess i think it just isn’t going to end well. There is no way that any of the characters could trust one another ever. I think i also have a hard time believing that something like this would happen and they aren’t really explaining who started this yet and why someone didn’t just kill that person. I do think that the show is doing a great job explaining the harshness of the situation, but i doubt they are going to explain how such a situation could happen in a way that i would find in any way realistic.

Bobby has said that before and Ginny laughing when they said it would make sense that Emma would die. The actors all just need to run for it.
