My theory is that Into the Deep could be a reference to a PBS spiecal by the same name about the history of Whaling. We shall see…both make a heck of a lot of sense.
[adrotate group="5"]hmverhagenParticipantI’m very excited as well. I’m gonna stick with my Peter is Whale theory, but things seem to be leaning in favor of him being a Mad Doctor of sorts. If so, I’m going to have trouble wrapping my head around it. I’ll probably post something and people can list off evidence in support of his identity.
I realized that Snow was wearing a key necklace in Lady of the Lake, and that August, Henry, and Neal have bus scenes. Are Greatful Dead lyrics, and a poem supposed to show us that Emma, August, Henry and Neal are all ‘Lost Boys and Girls’? Possible…very very possible.
hmverhagenParticipantNo, it wasn’t the wraith. It looked like Gold was in the woods when he summoned it.
Mulan said that Fairytale Land was affected by the curse, since time stood still for 28 years. Perhaps when the curse broken below Storybrooke, there was some kind of implosion that could be felt above. AKA: The curse broke in both places at the same time, but there are seperate lands with seperate affects.
I can’t wait until they tell us how the people below knew that the curse lasted 28 years. What I mean is, while the curse was in effect, time was MUCH slower in Storybrooke. (So slow that the people were unaware of the passing of time.) Did the below people know about Rumple’s prophesy from episode one?
hmverhagenParticipantHmmm…I think that line is still debateable, Lorem. Did she bring Jefferson over personally, or thought the curse? Regina vanished with Snow and Charming, but is she able to make the hat work on her own. (I know Emma probably helped her recently. I’m talking about shortly after the curse was cast. We know she had some magic stored in her vault because she mentions this to Jefferson in Apple As Red As Blood.)
hmverhagenParticipantCrest, maybe George wasn’t dethroned. Perhaps the knights were just loyal to Charming. When he wanted to fight the dragon, they all challenged it before he did. Aka: They accepted Charming as the new Prince and possibly became friends.
hmverhagenParticipantVery interesting stuff, dear. I’m gonna say that at the very least, the mystery man is supposed to be seen as a ‘Lost Boy.’ Perhaps Jack would also miss his parents, and this would account for the lines in the poem relating to where he walked and the ‘key’ in the window. We’ll see what happens in the very near future.
hmverhagenParticipantAll this said, I’m hoping we can put our minds together. 😉 I tend to pick up on things, and it seems you do the same thing.
hmverhagenParticipantI’ll take a look, but I whole heartedly believe that Dr. Whale is Peter Pan. Here are the reasons:
1) His last name is Whale because he is liken to the White Whale in the book Moby Dick. (A few days ago, Adam and Eddy said in an EW interview that this book WOULD be used.) The connection I made is that Captians Hook and Ahab both went crazy due to the loss of a limb, and they are both seeking revenge against the person or creature that caused the amputation: Peter Pan and the White Whale.
2) Also, Dr. Whale’s ego could be compared to that of Pan’s, since he was constantly challenging Captian Hook.
3) He wouldn’t trust Charming because of how Peter viewed authority. He was a leader, and all the other authority figures were Pirates with seedy motives.
4) Maybe Whale’s curse was that he automatically became a man, and Peter doesn’t know what to do with his raging homomones.
5) Whale seems interested in how families work. He is seen watching the Charmings and Red and Granny.
6) Lastly, Whale watches Charming interact with Mother Blueperior, who is a Fairy. Peter’s best friend was also a Fairy:Tinkerbelle.
If I’m right, I’m worried about Peter. He needs to get his mind off of dating, and start preparing himself for an attack from a rather nasty Captian Hook. I’ll leave the spoilers that make me believe that they will find each other out of this post, but if you have Peter in the mix, why wouldn’t you have him fight Hook?
hmverhagenParticipantI will have to reread this in the am…to tired to make sense of it all, but it seems you may have picked up on something…at least the discription of where the guy is walking and why.
My currant theory is that Neal is Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk. This is because Neal means champion, or cloud, and Cassidy refers to Curly. Also, Neal Cassidy is the name on Ben Linus’ passport when he escapes the island. Ben is known for being able to manipulate people. Neal Cassidy was known as a theif.
Imagine a beanstalk growing up to the clouds. It is climbed by a common theif who approaches a giant, and becomes a champion when he successfully fights for his life.
Also, Emma may have broken the law because of the influence of someone like Jack.
hmverhagenParticipantIf I were Emma, I’d be tempted to quit, but there are some nasty people in town that would push to take her place and bring the town down. Everyone is dealing with a lot, so maybe being sherrif is kinda a catch 22 for anyone.
