Oh goodness there are loads upon loads of parallels between Snowing and Captain Swan. It’s crazy to list them all, but there are a lot of them. So many that it makes it far from a coincidence.
[adrotate group="5"]LOL the first thing when we found out his name was Jones was that maybe Davy Jones is his father. Then I thought of POTC where that whole speech reminded me of Will Turner(whom also thought his father a fugitive abandoned him in the night) and Bootstrap Bill Turner his father.
Hook’s got massive daddy issues though clearly.

Actually they confirmed multiple times that Hook was supposed to be a main regular from the get go but because of rights had to be placed on the shelf in S1 and saved for S2 but if you watch S1 there are many hints towards Captain Hook. 🙂

Skate – I love Sawyer & Kate and we had LOTS of hints for them in the first few seasons. Then Sawyer jumped off a helicopter so that the rest would be safe and Kate could take care of baby Aaron and all he asked was that she go make sure HIS kid was alright back home & taken care of as well. Then Sawyer mistakeningly thought the helicopter blew up, he was left stranded on the island with Juliet – they eventually fell in love so that 3 years later when Kate returned he was still happy to see her but he ended up with Juliet.
I get why people *might* think that the new Skate is CaptainSwan because we seem to be getting them early, they understand each other / are similar / have a strong connection. But does the jumping out of the helicopter to make sure that Kate gets home and is able to take care of the various children in his life sound familiar to anyone??
I was worried about the Skate vs Jate comparisons because I loved Skate and it didn't happen. However, based on the stuff we've already talked about plenty in this thread, I feel very strongly that CaptainSwan is a huge possibility. Even when Skate was happening full out, there were still clear signs of the jealousy on both Jack Kate's parts etc so it was subtle but there and I got used to it but didn't love it. On Once, all of the jealousy stuff on Emma's part is (hopefully) over because she has more info to go off now and that was pre-really connecting with Hook. Or at least reconnecting and seeing the good side of him that she CAN trust.
So then we get to CaptainSwan who are very similar and this is still early on and that worried me a little…until I thought more about the portal thing. Neal was basically saying you have to be safe, you have to get back to my kid so he doesn't grow up like we did, I love you. Now…Sawyer basically said the same to Kate (although it was whispered) and THEY DID NOT END UP TOGETHER. Time passed with him thinking that Kate was dead, he moved on with someone else who became the love of his life, as much as he was happy to see Kate alive and well later on.
So OUAT-wise…Neal went through the portal to save Emma so she could be there for Henry. Just like Sawyer with the helicopter (ironically Sawyer's ex/mother of his kid was named Cassidy). The only difference this time is that Emma is the one who thinks he's dead and not the other way around. Even getting major CaptainSwan hints right now, I don’t think by any means that it shows what will happen later on regarding the SwanFire stuff. I really do think we will get CaptainSwan and the portal gives me a little bit of hope. It’s closure for her and time will pass and even with a *forced* love triangle, it should go back to CaptainSwan in the end.
MM in that quote I shared from above doesn’t want Emma to revert to the person she was before. I think being around Hook, Emma will be able to embrace who she is today and not want to go back to what she once was. Just like Neal didn’t want to be turned into a 14 year old again. As many characters have made mistakes, most (basically anybody other than August…) do not want to go back to a different time but are embracing who they are today because of what they’ve been through (think Charming’s speech in We Are Both). All of these things give me hope.
Eventually Neal will find someone else, though I think he’ll come back and see CS spending time together and get upset. I just hope by that time Emma has found herself and can identify the differences between her relationships with both guys.
I actually see loads of Captain Swan with Jack and Kate as characters. Hook has loads of Jack in him. He’s a born leader, courageous, ruled by the heart, cocky , arrogant, always knows the right thing to do. Not to mention we now know he has daddy issues. Loads of Jack inside of Killian Jones and yes like you I definitely believe that Captain Swan will be endgame, and I can’t wait to see it.
Sounds too far-fetch’d for my taste. The theory doesn’t really hold merit and it’s too early to tell. I doubt we will even see Hook’s father in a flashback. Besides he’s already a member of the family as of the last episode. I’m sure we will get a flashback to Killian in his youth but it’s likely ot be when he was already abandoned.
Personally I still believe he was Peter Pan if not the first one. Kind of like how TDKR said that Batman was a symbol, maybe that is what Pan is.
Family isn’t only tied by blood, this show says that more than anything.
The ship actually clearly is going to be a main player in the series. Hook’s never going to give it up but essentially it’s like a vehicle. They said it in Tiny the ship is made up of enchanted wood. Which means like the wardrobe, it can travel between dimensions. Which more than likely means it will be used as a way in the series for the characters to get through to dimensions.
No doubt Colin is here to stay. Hook’s the character they wanted from the beginning of the show as a regular. Colin is indeed here to stay for the majority of the shows run. He’s a series regular and now stated as a core character.
Really Snowing paralleling Swanfire. I have never seen it. If anything the couple I see paralleling ST is Milah and Rumple. They’re both tragic stories and there are tons of parallels between them. “You did this because a seer told you to” you did this because Pinochio told you to”
The parallels between CS and Snowing is insane and its FAR from vague, the season finale even had a major parallel. Both Charming and Hook left SB, returned, and reunited and talked first with the woman that made them go back.
This finale was completely 100% foreshadowing of CS in S3 and IMO like in the finale of last season with Snowing, cemented them as true love.
Yes true they didn’t kiss but they might as well have because CS have come full circle.
They were never going to get anything overtly romantic yet, they were not ready. What they needed to do in order to get to that level, they did indeed do.
Hook chose Emma, which NEEDED to happen in order for this ship to sail. He chose her over completing his revenge. He took her up on her offer. He can be a part of her family and like with Bae and Milah, I am very positive he will be incredibly protective of Henry and Emma. Nobody can say Killian is not good father material, and if they do they’re living in a pit of massive denial. True Bae’s memory of what happened was substancial to him returning but it was Emma’s offer, Emma’s words that made him turn around as well. She is his something to care for now, he basically said as much when he returned and told her that he basically needed a reminder that he could be the hero he always was.
Emma trusts Hook now. She gave him the bean which is going to lead her to her most prize possession. She has placed her faith and her family in his hands. She is also shocked that someone actually chose her for the first time in their lives over doing what needed to be done in their mind. He came back to her. That has never happened before. I think you saw that when she looked to the horizon with a surprised look on her face and then when he gave her the bean.
This season finale was to put it in a way magical for CS and everything that in order to have a successful romantic relationship later on, happened. These two are set and now all we need now is time and this is going to be an epic love story.
Of course Colin is back next season he’s a series regular and one they have wanted from the very beginning, he’s not going anywhere.
