That’s great! And if Bae figures it out at some point, he could change his name before he ever even left NL. Maybe to Peter….]
Loving this idea! 🙂
Try introducing yourself as Peter Pan…seriously that’s not going to fly (pun intended)
😆
For all we know he could have changed his name several times, he is at least a few hundred years old, right!?
[adrotate group="5"]imported_belleParticipantMaybe Bae finally telling Wendy his name was Bae, out loud, triggered the shadow to seek him out in that home. It’s a good parallel to the real Rumpelstiltskin tale, where they find out his name when he sings it out loud around a fire.
That’s an awesome thought. Names are important to the Rumpelstitskin story.
You know what this reminds to me of also:
In the last Harry Potter book, Voldermort puts a curse on his name so that when anyone speaks it aloud, he would know exactly where they were.Rumple could have put the same sort of spell on Bae’s name. If Bae said his name, the shadow would be able to find him. It wouldn’t have worked when Bae grew up because he went by Neal.
imported_belleParticipantI don’t think Rumpel created Neverland itself
Neither do I. I just believe that he THINKS he controlled the shadow, but in reality, the shadow (or the island itself) was keeping the boys there without his knowledge.
but I do see him putting something into motion without realizing the cost.
Exactly, Rumple does tend to do this a times. Because of his seer abilities, he doesn’t see the BIG picture.
imported_belleParticipantit is still really unclear if the Curse was already in existence before Rumple or if he created it from scratch
That is true. I was going off the fact that Rumple had said he created in the episode A Land Without Magic. I forgot about the convo between Blue Fairy and Rumple. I hope they address this in S3 as well.
But like I said in my orignal post, it’s a crazy theory! Rumple probably had nothing to do with Neverland, but it is neat thought because he has had his hand in most other fairy tales as we have seen 🙂
imported_belleParticipantI don’t know. It kind of fits Rumple’s M.O. to me which is manupulating someone else (the shadow) to do the dirty work for him. He created the curse, how much dirtier can you get than that and he manipulated Regina into inacting it because he didn’t want to do it himself.
You are right about leaving them there, though. I don’t think Rumple would have wanted that. He is desperate to find his son though, who knows?
imported_belleParticipantI heard someone say (I think it was the couple who does Once Upon A Time Fan Podcast) that the operation names could have been a nod towards Kung Fu Panda which is a Dreamworks movie, but still.
Operation Tiger
Operation Praying Mantaswhich are both characters in that movie.
Could just be a coindidence though being that Kung Fu Panda is definitely not a disney movie.
imported_belleParticipantOh okay! So Emma being the failsafe is null and void now that the curse is technically broken.
That makes more sense now.
And it makes sense that Rumple had one and so did Regina.
imported_belleParticipantI agree with Rumple’sGirl. He made no indication that the “she” he was trying to spit out was Tamara. Gosh I can’t stand her, I was really hoping little boy August would remember that Tamara is a baddy bad .
imported_belleParticipantMaybe they can have a dragon fight
😆 That would be awesome!!!
imported_belleParticipantI have a theory about the Dragon. A lot of people, including me, have been joking that The Dragon could be Mushu from Mulan. Well what if he is of sorts? He could have been Mulan’s protector and guide just as Mushu was in the cartoon Disney version of Mulan. Not necessarly turing into a “pocket-sized lizard” but just helping Mulan and being there for her.
