Hey all,
Rumbelle’s got me all kinds of confused this back half – although I have to say I’m loving Belle’s no nonsense attitude and Rumple’s “I’m DO and I love it”. I wasn’t surprised the TLK didn’t work and assume they’re setting that situation up to explain further…I do like the idea of sacrifice and wonder if maybe, like they did with Emma and Hook and have their TL confirmed through action and not a kiss. Honestly, they kind of use TLK as the save all for a lot, and we’ve already gotten how many on 5B? I like the idea of Rumple performing a completely altruistic sacrifice that results in Belle’s awakening as opposed to another TLK. I think he’s getting there and one thing I have liked about this arc is that Rumple is embracing the DO, but it seems he’s focusing on his powers more to do good than evil. And I think that’s more powerful an action in Belle’s eyes than a simple kiss.

And…of course I wrote more and then firefox crashed. i give up…happy almost OUAT DAY!!!
Jenna_BParticipantProbably right, RG…in which case, ugh…unless they both want to go full on evil…Dark Rumple AND Dark Hook either together or against each other could make for over the top flamboyant fun. Both characters are so much fun Dark. But yeah, I’m guessing Milah’s return is that or simply because they’re on a ‘bring everyone back just ’cause we can book them’kick.
Jenna_BParticipantOk, I haven’t been here in awhile so let’s see if I remember how to quote and unspoil…
Nope.
Ok, so I really like the top 10 list! And I agree, I love Dark Hook. I really don’t think they utilized Robert Carlyle as the’big bad’ last season, I miss a dramatic Dark One. Colin’s is, naturally, very different than Bobby’s,but both areso much fun to watch. A season of psychopath Dark Hook could awesome, but I agree, I’m guessing it’s short-lived.

Jenna_BParticipantI’m interested in seeing how Milah comes back…but I doubt there will be a confrontation between her and Emma. I’m fairly certain Emma knows Milah is Bae’s mother. It’s common knowledge, especially to Henry’s mother, that Rumple is Henry’s grandfather…
Jenna_BParticipantI haven’t checked the thread/site in forever, but I was missing all of you so much I had to check…and I’m so happy to see chatter! I want to take some time later to really read all of your posts thoroughly and reply, but I did have to jump on and say Hiiii!! I’m seeing some great insight just skimming so I can’t wait until later when I can really read and think about all your thoughts on our Princess and her Pirate!
Jenna_BParticipantOk that nasty little chat bubble has lost me 2 comments today alone….argh…
@Ranisha – 🙂 I do so love our ensemble when they work as an ensemble…and what a way to get that and show the very important (in my opinion of course) theme that you have to save yourself, even if it’s you you’re fighting.
Jenna_BParticipantI very highly doubt this outfit is the Dark Swan outfit. 1. The shoot was in April. The writers hadn’t even reconvened at that point to start writing S5. 2. The OUAT costume dept wouldn’t be dressing Jen Morrison for an EW photo shoot/interview. This outfit is courtesy of EW, and merely their ‘take’ on Emma as the Dark One based on what was in their own closet. There is no way OUAT is going to have Emma go dark and not let the costume dept have a field day dressing her. Look at what they did for Snow as the Evil Queen, and that was one…two…episodes.
As for Regina as the ‘savior’….oh, I hope not. Even in the EF during the S4 finale, Regina wasn’t exactly the savior; she still needed Emma and Henry to push her in the right direction. I really hope saving Emma is a team effort, with a good dose of Henry included…but hopefully in the end Emma realizes the only one who saves Emma is Emma. (I love that line, I love the concept behind that line…)
Although….dang, Jen…that pose with them boots in the diner? That there is some serious strength and flexibility….!
Jenna_BParticipantIt’s such an ingrained fear in him. His father abandoned him as a child, Milah left him, Baelfire left him, Cora left him, etc etc
Ok, when did baelfire abandoned Rumple?was this something shown this season? Because i was sure that was the other way around, Rumple was to scared and abandoned baelfire at the portal. So they rewrote that on S4 as well?
I think it’s not so much that Baelfire actually left, but Rumple’s perception of their separation. Bae didn’t willingly leave, we know that, but Rumple – believing he is unlovable- could definitely perceive it that way. I think it’s more that Rumple believes he is unloveable, therefore any love he receives is fleeting.
And I do think there’s hope for Rumbelle. I think Rumple is going to have a tough time trying to figure out who he is – or who he wants to be – without the DO. And I can’t imagine Belle won’t be the driving force behind that. So it may not be the DO curse Rumbelles kiss cures but God knows it could be any of a plethora of others! Though I am sad it’s probably NOT going to be the DO curse, I definitely think there’s a Rumbelle curse-braker kiss in the future!
June 12, 2015 at 7:28 pm in reply to: EW 6/9: Sean Maguire and Rebecca Mader promoted to series regulars #305361Jenna_BParticipantUpgrading Robin was a no-brainer as all have said. Still very trepidatious about that whole storyline; I really liked OQ until it reached telenovela status but now it feels like the writers keep digging themselves further into a hole…I don’t love Zelena’s constant sneering so I could have definitely done without her.
Slightly off topic but some of the comments have me thinking about how awesome a Rumple storyline about him so full of knowledge of magic and total inability to actually perform magic would be… but we all know the amount of fantastic storylines they could’ve done with Rumple and where that’s led…
So I guess I’m kind of meh about the announcement…?
