I downloaded and began to read  Through the Looking Glass since it’s been years and I’ve forgotten parts of it.  I’m on chapter three and it’s interesting that the Red Queen isn’t evil.  She just sets her off on a journey after Alice expresses her desire to go across the chessboard land.  So the queen sets her up to play the game.  She’s a White Queen’s pawn since the White Queen’s daughter Lily is too small to play the game.  That’s how she got to be for the white side.

What’s also interesting, and we talked in chat about this a bit last night, is that the land isn’t specified as Wonderland.  It’s the land “through the looking glass”.  I always wondered about that because Wonderland and Looking Glass each have a different feeling to me.  Each is full of nonsense and Alice navigating her way, but the land itself just seems different.

It will be interesting to see what they pull from each book for the new show.  I just hope that Adam answers the chess tweet.  Hopefully, he’ll give us some kind of answer, even if it’s a smart aleck, sassy one.

Yes, while technically the guy is 26 in real life, the character is a teenager.  Most non-obsessive fans will view Peter Pan’s followers as children and to pair one with Regina is just icky, for wont of a better word.

I know people complain about Rumple and Belle’s age difference, but at least Belle was introduced as an adult character.  She was already engaged to be married and thought of enough to be allowed in the war room for strategic planning.  I know the princesses were traditionally teenagers, in this show they’re not.  The actresses range in age from late twenties to mid thirties.  That age difference then isn’t squeamish as if Felix and Regina were to have a relationship of some kind.

I’m usually open minded but Felix and Regina is just something I can’t cotton to.

Felix may be hundreds of years old, but emotionally he’s been held in limbo at a younger age.  He has no character growth to go along with that passage of time.  Compare that to Rumple, who as a currently immortal being, is totally cognizant of time and has used it to manipulate events to his liking.  He hasn’t just been sitting around spinning gold.  He exhausted and explored every idea and type of magic he could find in his quest to find his son.  Sort of like a mad scientist only he’s a mad sorcerer.   The boys on Neverland never age or mature so that passage of time means nothing.  They are frozen physically and emotionally.  That is why Felix, no matter what his age is not an appropriate companion for Regina.

So all that Peter Pan and the Lost Boys need is some form of release?  Like a valve on a pressure cooker?(That’s the nicest way I could phrase it.)  I’m not going any further with this train of thought because it leads to roads best left to tumblr fanfiction. 😛  👿

I can imagine Regina with a pirate, a thief, and even a certain cricket…but I just can’t imagine her with a younger man.  She’s the type that give her an inch and she’ll take a mile.  If there’s going to be any kind of romance that doesn’t just end in a boy giving her mooncalf eyes then he has to be someone she sees as worth her time and effort.  More of an equal, not necessarily in power and position, but in a personal sense.

*I am now worried that Felix might be a contender for Regina and I’m pretty sure I told @HappyEndings that if that happened I’d eat Jefferson’s hat….*

I told her I’d eat my shoe.  I don’t fancy the taste of leather and rubber so I’m still pulling for Regal Hood.

    *claps*  We are brilliant!

I can totally see this happening.  It’s one big giant game that Alice has to win in order to get Cyrus back.  She needs the Knave and White Rabbit to help her along the way.  Now that we’ve talked it out, it makes perfect sense.  We have a beginning and closure and it won’t be a repeat of the things we’ve already seen in Ouat’s visit to Wonderland with Jefferson.  They might incorporate things in, but we know that the Mad Hatter/Jefferson isn’t going to have a part (other than a rumored cameo) in the storyline.  The chess match theory gives us an outline of what should happen.  They might not come out and specifically say it’s a chess match but I think it’s a plausible idea as a framework for the show.

For those who don’t know how, it’s really worth it to learn to play chess.  I know it has a nerdy reputation, but it is really fun to play.

Price:  Marian’s death and the “loss” of his child.
Debt:  To Belle for saving his life.

Really, RG, are you trying to break my heart?  So sad and a plausible idea.

I thought I kicked my fandom addiction after HP ended.  I thought it was a one-time thing that happens only once, but evidently I have a problem.  Eddy, Adam and Once just pulled me right back in….with the help of Bobby Carlyle.

Yes, they all do look as though they could be related.

With that hash tag at least we can surmise it’s a guy and not a girl.  😛

    Love Robert Carlyle.  He’s fabulous!
