JosephineParticipant
Okay been a long time since this thread was visited. Last season’s finale. But I had a lot of feelings and can’t post in the SF thread because some haven’t seen the episode yet so I’m dumping it here.
Grimm finale thoughts:
Fantastic finale. No wonder they didn’t release anything.
Diana is utterly creepy. The dolls, her wanting get parents together to the point of killing Rachel. That girl needs to learn control.
The writers remembering past storylines. Adelind got a warning to Nick and the Scooby gang by appealing to Diana’s feelings for Nick’s mother, who fostered her. Good remembering. Once never would have.
I don’t ship but a small part of me could like Trubel/Meissner post-mortem. She cried over his death and we don’t see emotion a lot from Trubel. Is there some back story there?
So much testosterone in this episode.
Juliette is back. They didn’t outright confirm this, but she’s having feelings. Did the stick cure not only her injury but the hexenbiest in her? She wasn’t born with the powers so did it remove them? Would Wu be cured if the stick was used on him? Is Eve gone or is she both Eve and Juliette now.
I suspect the wood stick is a shard from the Cross of Christ.
How funny and fantastic is WereWu? He looks more like a Neanderthal, but it’s awesome he has control over it.
Adelind’s ring. Why do i have a feeling if she taked it off that she’ll turn to stone?
And then there is the final scene. Renard running through Bonaparte, although controlled by Diana. With Bonaparte gone, Renard is the top dog of the Black Claw hierarchy. Will he continue? That look he gave Nick, I have a feeling the fighting isn’t done. Renard has Kelly and I’m going to add in Adelind because I think that Nick realized he had real feelings for her after she left. What’s between Renard and Nick just isn’t Grimm vs. Wesen or Royal/Resistance/Black Claw. This showdown is personal.
So next season…. Love triangle or square or whatever? If Juliette is resurfacing will Nick forgive and reunite with his longtime love? Or will he go for the mother of his child who, I suspect, he has developed real feelings for? A few seasons ago I would have been confident that Nick and Juliette are a definite endgame. Now I’m not so sure.
And now the best for last! Everyone’s favorite Wesen couple is having a baby! Yippee Monrosalee. Not shocking at all but very welcomed. And Monroe’s reaction was perfect. This show is worth watching just for seeing Monroe and Rosalee. They’re not perfect but they talk through their problems and are a fantastic couple.
Is it too early to ship HexenGrimm Kelly with Baby Monrosalee? Macy announced it was definitely true love.

This is pretty much the only way I’m going to accept that the same woman who wrote “Skin Deep” also wrote some of the latest episodes and CS drivel

JosephineParticipantI haven’t been posting much recently, but I thought I’d add my two cents. In the past I have enumerated the various reasons why the show has sucked. I’m not going to list all of those again, some of you can testify that the list tends to be long. But in my opinion, it all comes down to ABC and Disney taking over control combined with the ADHD-type storytelling of Eddie and Adam.
In Season One, the fairy tale characters we’re not carbon copies of their Disney counterparts. However, as the series went on this changed. It began with Frozen and now look at their representation of Hades. It’s become an incestuous relationship between Once and Disney. A marketing tool.
The first season was intriguing and, well, original. That’s why so many of us here glommed onto SwanFire. It was drawing and building on the foundation of those well known fairy tales. Creating a new story in our Modern World. There was just something poetic about the Savior and the reason for the curse coming together. If this were a novel one was reading this would be glaringly clear. With current storylines, it would be as if Lizzy ran away woth the dastardly Wickham in Pride & Prejudice instead of falling for Darcy. Network interference and having more freedom over the Disney catalog diverted the show from its original premise.
Some shows can succeed wildly after changing the focus after the first few seasons. With Once it just divided the fandom and drained viewership.
At this point I really have no interest in the show, even hate-watching it. But
I promised I would stick with it until the end and I shall be a good friend and keep that promise.Keeper of Rumplestiltskin's and Neal's spears and war paint and crystal ball.
JosephineParticipantThere is always the dropped plot point that the Blue Fairy is the “Original Power”. She’s supposed to be this almost god-like power and they completely dropped it.
I’ll never have my “Ultimate Puppet Master Sneaky Fairy” and that makes me sad.

JosephineParticipantI’ve talked to RG about this a bit, but do you notice how Galavant does Merida much better than Once, without even trying.
Yes, she’s not really Merida, but she’s a feisty redhead who is more efficient than her two male companions on their noble quest. Although they did have to eat that family of hobbits…
As for Newsies, I loved the original movie. We had it on VHS and back in the day Disney aired it a good bit. (I miss the old Disney channel…but that’s another story.). I never understood why it had been a flop. I loved it from the beginning.

JosephineParticipantThis show reminds me a bit of another ABC show, Pushing Daisies. That show was kooky, visually different, off-kilter, and odd. But it was fantastic. Only after it was gone did other people realize how good it was. I fear people will discover Galavant at a later date and regret not watching when it was originally aired, much like has happened with Pushing Daisies.

JosephineParticipantI really just don’t understand why this show doesn’t get better ratings. Seriously. It’s fantastic.
I know there is no chance of a third season but with Alan Mencken behind it, can we at least get a movie. Please! Pretty please!
People should be watching this masterpiece for Tim Omundson alone.
I wonder what the ratings would be if it were aired in summer and not up against football championships, award shows, political debates, …

JosephineParticipantI’m a fan of the John Waters’ original from the 80s with Ricki Lake . Even before the musical, like many other of his movies, it had a cult following. I haven’t seen the musical version, but I will tune in like always.

JosephineParticipantI’m betting the warning is a letter left behind that is mysteriously found, even if there is a warning.
It’s bait, pure and simple.
