I still want Ariel, no matter who she’s paired with, to be post-The Little Mermaid. I really want it to stick to Anderson’s ending. It’s much more interesting and dramatic and would fit with the tone of Once much better than her happy ending of living with her Prince.
So far all the fairytales that we know have already happened. We don’t have the real story in our world, but somehow some version of the tales seeped into our collective consciousness in this world. I would be very surprised if they went a pre-The Little Mermaid version of Ariel where she’s still only 16 since they’ve not done that with any other up to this point.
Based on just little things getting leaked, I’ll be surprised if Ariel is introduced in the first half of the season. Maybe at the end as they’re leaving on the boat she’ll make her first appearance, but I don’t think with all the other storylines going on that they’ll introduce her just yet.

Right now Kelly Clarkson’s “Catching My Breath” reminds me of Belle left behind and hopefully finally getting her own storyline.

Who exactly is Rufio? I’ve seen him mentioned on a few different sites. I know the Disney animated version verbatim and don’t recall him from the Jason Isaacs live-action version, and I don’t remember him from the book. Where is he coming from?

I’d like to second David Tennant. Although, and I’ve said this before, combined with Robert Carlyle that much Scottish goodness on my screen my television might explode. Seriously. My fangirling heart would pass out and my tv wouldn’t be able to handle it.
Obi, I haven’t heard about Ariel being Hook’s mom. I know there is a growing Hookriel crackship going on, which I whole-heartedly approve of, but I’ve not heard of the mother angle. I also wanted to note that while I don’t find Hook attractive with all that guyliner, Colin looks very attractive in your avatar all scrubbed clean.

I’m still hoping we get to see that library opening. The community needs a little good news after all they’ve been through. My wish is that when Rumple gets off the boat, if Belle hasn’t gone to him by then, is that he walks into the library or mayor’s office and sees Belle hard at work without her noticing him. For so long, he’s put her on a pedestal and has seen her as someone he needs to protect. I want to see her TCB (taking care of business) and kicking butt and taking names. Imagine his surprise to see her running everything successfully without magic, Regina or the Charmings.
I can just picture the following scene:
Rumbelle in pawn shop having romantic moment. Interrupted by jingling door and hurried footsteps.
Gold: (exasperated) I’ve been back for five minutes. Could you please just leave me alone!
Townsperson: Oh, we don’t want you. It’s Belle we need.

So far, Once has paralleled the animated Disney version of “Beauty and the Beast” very well without making it a duplicate. The numbered list is what generally happens in most versions of the tale and under is what specifically happens in the Disney’s and Once’s versions.
1) Beauty sacrifices herself to save her family.
BATB: She changes places with her dad in the castle.
Once: She goes with Rumple to save her village.2) Beauty has a hard time adjusting
BATB: She cries and eventually runs away after being frightened and escapes only to be saved by the Beast from a pack of wolves.
Once: She cries and let’s RH escape and wishes him well. Rumple drags her along for the hunt but eventually lets RH save his Marian and escape.3) Beauty and the Beast become friends
BATB: “There may be something there that wasn’t there before”. 😉
Once: Falling off the ladder, Belle chasing him around the table, talks about Bae.The rest of the “Beauty and the Beast” storyline is kind of played in a continuous loop that we’ll hopefully get out of one day.
TAKE ONE
4) Beauty leaves the Beast.
BATB: Belle sees her father sick through the magic mirror and the Beast releases her to go to him.
Once: Rumple releases Belle after their heart-to-heart and he realizes he’s falling for her.5) The Beauty returns to the Beast
BATB: Belle escapes and after a fight with Gaston saves the Beast with her tears and the curse is lifted. (Nope, it wasn’t the kiss that did it!)
Once: Belle returns, with the urging of Regina, and kisses Rumple. TLK works and starts to transform, but he stops it, gets angry and banishes her once again. No curse is broken.So in our original “Skin Deep” episode, they don’t have their happy ending as we all know. So it goes back and is rewound to earlier in the story and we have to repeat elements.
TAKE TWO:
4) Beauty leaves the Beast.
Belle leaves Rumple and goes on adventure with Mulan and instead of returning to her family decides to return to Rumple and patch their relationship because she loves him. But….she’s captured by Regina and held prisoner.5) The Beauty returns to the Beast
Belle escapes, with the help of Jefferson and returns to Rumple. Kissing goes on but no curse is broken.TAKE THREE:
4) Beauty leaves the Beast.
Belle is angry at Rumple and her father and refuses to see them again.5) The Beauty returns to the Beast
Really only lasts five minutes as Rumple reveals his sob story of Bae and Belle agrees to date him, but won’t live with him anymore since she needs her space. No curse is broken.TAKE FOUR:
4) Beauty leaves the Beast.
She doesn’t physically leave him, but does so in a way by becoming Lacey.5) The Beauty returns to the Beast
Rumple gives Lacey the BF’s conveniently crafted potion and she becomes Belle once agan. Kisses occur again and no curse is broken.TAKE FIVE, but with a twist and maybe an end to our endless loop:
4) Beauty leaves the Beast.
Rumple leaves Belle, unlike all the other times, to save his grandson. He doesn’t expect to ever return, but we all know he will.5) The Beauty returns to the Beast
The unknown! What will happen when Rumple returns from his journey? Will he be devoid of powers? Will a kiss from Belle break him from his curse once and for all?My point of outlining the parallels is whilst I think Rumple’s undoing will be the shedding of his curse, are they going to have it be at the hands of Henry or Belle? We’ve already see Gold dying once this season and the cure wasn’t TLK. Belle had amnesia and it wouldn’t have worked in any case. So will they reloop the “Rumple dying” thing and this time let Belle save him? Or will it involve Henry and/or Neal.
We really need to get past this skip on the broken record. Ultimately the only way that can happen if for the DO curse to be gone once and for all.

The only problem about PP just being after Rumple is that he had the prime chance when he had Baelfire all those years. Rumple would have done anything to get his son back. If PP’s aim was Rumple all along then why wait for the grandson when you had the son in your possession to begin with.

So the thing is when did Rumple have contact with Peter Pan? Did he meet him as a child? We know he was an orphan raised by family and maybe the shadow visited him as a child, too.
Henry: Don’t worry. Emma’s really good at catching people.
Mr. Gold: Well, my son’s been running away for a long time now. Now I have a feeling he’s equally adept at it.
The other obvious choice is Rumple met him in his search through the centuries for Bae. Gold said the above to Henry during “Manhattan.” I have a feeling Rumple has had a few close calls with Bae through the years and his son escaped him. Maybe he came close to meeting him in Neverland. Sort of like in the movie “Serendipity”. The two main characters are searching for each other and repeatedly come extremely close to crossing each other’s path, but only meet in the end when each gives up the search. I’m thinking Rumple has come close through the years to finding his son and just missed him.

This is what I think, too. This bit of conversation for the finale of season one is interesting:
Mr. Gold: Tell me, Your Majesty, is our friend still in the basement?
Regina: Oh, you twisted little imp. You hid it with her?
Mr. Gold: Oh, no, no. Not with her. In her. I knew you couldn’t resist bringing her over.
This sort of confirms this theory that she picked and chose some of the people she brought over with the curse besides those residing in the Enchanted Forest. I do think Maleficient lived in the Enchanted Forest, too, but Rumple’s wording implies that she had some degree of control over the curse and who would come to Storybrooke. But the thing is, do the writers remember this or are they going to change their plans.
