The thought has crossed my mind once or twice since they’re always hammering home the fact that Rumple lacks courage, but I just can’t see how it could fit at all.

You have to remember, too, that Eddie, Adam and the other writers are telling their version of the story. Not mine or the fans. There are so many differing opinions that I really feel they can’t appease different fan groups. They have to go with what they want to write.
For example, the tv show “Glee” was fantastic the first season, particularly the first 13 episodes. They were written “in a bubble”. There were no fans, no press, no fandom. They were goofy, weird, and fantastic. As the seasons go on, and they’ve added writers and catered to certain fan groups, the show has gone downhill dramatically. When I tell people to watch the show now, I say “Just watch the first season and stop.”
J.K. Rowing is another example. I remember her interviews about “Harry Potter” and her talking about writing the story she wanted to tell. One interviewer asked her about alienating fans by putting two certain characters together or killing off such-and-such and she said more or less that she couldn’t listen to what fans wanted to hear, that in the end she had to tell the story she wanted to tell and if it lost her fans then that was the cost.
Everyone sees something different in what they’re viewing or reading. I never saw a hit of Harry/Hermione in the “Harry Potter” books and was a staunch Ron/Hermione shipper from the beginning, but I would have continued to read the series to the end if Harry/Hermione had happened and been a fan of the books. Same thing with Once. There are certain characters I’m not enamored of, but if the storyline goes certain ways then I’ll suck it up and watch it and hope the story they’re telling is good. The great thing about ensemble casts is that there are always multiple storylines going on, so if you don’t like one, there is usually another to get you through.

I have no idea how they’re getting there since the three of them are getting out of a cab. Maybe they fly from Boston to New York.
I suspect that Neal doesn’t go back with them immediately. He’ll have things to take care of before he goes to Storybrooke. He won’t want to be separated from Henry so he won’t waste too much time.
But I could be wrong and they could all carpool together back to town. 😆

Hmm…Manhattan. Any chance it’s going to be written by my favorite Once writer, Jane Espenson, too? Is that too much to ask for? Please, please, pretty please.
I have to say I’m much more interested in Neal overall than any other character at this point. It’s knocked Rumbelle out of the top spot on my Once obsession list, and I didn’t think anything could top Rumplestiltskin. There is just so much I can’t wait to see about Neal. If he’s Bae, then what happened to him? What will his reaction to his father be? How is he going to react to being a father? Will he move to Storybrooke? How will Regina react to having Henry’s father in town, another person she has to fight for attention with Henry?
I’m abivalent about Hook at this point. I wish they would have casted someone more mature for the character. When I think of Captain Hook, I think of this domineering and sneering villian. He was one of the only villians I was truly scared of as a kid, so I’m kind of disappointed in the direction they’ve taken him. I wanted someone on the level of Robert Carlyle. In my opinion, Barbara Hershey fits nicely but Colin doesn’t. Just a personal opinion.
I’m with Bee, I can recognize that Josh Dallas is the most physically attractive on the show, but I probably wouldn’t go for him in real life. I find Robert Carlyle much more engaging, even though he’s in his fifties and not considered eye candy. But then I’ve had a crush on him for years, so it’s not the age thing, it’s the actor. I also think Michael Raymond James is attractive. I was really surprised when I read online that so many people find him unattractive.
As for who Emma should end up with, I admit I’m a major SwanThief/SwanFire fan. I just think it’s poetic that they end up together in the end. And I just can’t see Emma with all she’s been through, even if there is sexual chemistry, having a long-term relationship with Hook. Just because there’s a spark doesn’t mean it should be ignited. Heck, she has a major spark with Regina and I’m in no way a SwanQueen fan. Actually, I don’t think she needs any guy in her life this season. She just got Henry back, she found her parents, was whisked away to another world, and now has to build a relationship with her father. She doesn’t need a romantic relationship to throw into the mix, even from Neal. I do really want to see him in her life, but I think they’ve got a lot to work out and it’s going to take a long time. I’d be disappointed if they jumped in the sack after one episode, or even this season. So despite the flirting, I can’t see her falling for Hook, either.
Ack, my fingers spewed out a lot of Neal and Hook opinions, but I also wanted to add that talking to a few in my family who love the show, but aren’t into fandom, they all are interested in Neal being Bae, but not one of them have talked about Hook. We have to remember that what fandom thinks is not necessarily what the rest of the viewers think. We’re only a small percentage of who actually watch the show every week. I also don’t think the writers take the shippers views into account at all. They have story to tell and they’re going to go where they feel their muse will take them.

Naomi, that’s my birthday. Last year I got to see “Skin Deep” as a present. I hope this year’s episode is just as epic, and it would be appropriate since 2×14 = 2/14. Perfect episode number for the holiday.

Oh, that would be great. I’m a knitter and it could be good having a spinner in the house. Otherwise, as much as I love Rumple/Gold, he’d scare the bejesus out of me if I saw him in real life…in any incarnation.
