I actually think he looks a bit like Dylan. I did google him because I’m unfamiliar with his work and he’s more attractive in other pics, but I could imagine him as Bae and/or Henry’s father.

I really think some reporter should get Jen really drunk during an interview, take her to dinner, and then ask her who Henry’s father is. She admitted at ComicCon that she’s known from the beginning. And I really need to know the answer for my sanity. Maybe they could take David, too, to get some answers on who Dr. Whale actually is. 😉

AntBee, I told you that song was depressing. It’s even more haunting when sung. It will be interesting to find out who this Mihla actually is. Poor Bae had it even worse than Emma, imo, so I wonder how screwed up he’ll actually be.

Gosh, this theorizing is starting to sound exactly like the folk song “House Carpenter”. Boy, that song is depressing. It’s a story about a woman abandoning her baby and husband to go off with her true love. It ends tragically. i’m on a tablet and can’t get YouTube so here is a link to the lyrics.

Wow…just wow. Nobody can overtake my Rumple love, but the OUaT people are really trying hard. I did expect that Hook would be older, a contemporary of Gold, but this will do, too.

They really are just toying with us now. I have a suspicion Jack will be brunette and gorgeous, too.

Ohh, I forgot about Emma arrested in Storybrooke.

AntBee, now that you mention it, maybe they will show up. I’ve got the Christmas story started and have plans for New Years Eve.

Autumn, now I’m going to have to watch Skin Deep for the hundreth time (well, the Rumbelle parts that I watch). I do wonder though if the cup will show up again. Robert Carlyle took the original home and is auctioning it off to charity. So they’ll have to get another if it shows up again.

Does anyone think there is a chance Charming encountered Belle in the Evil Queen’s dungeon? Snow met Grumpy in King George’s cell. Just a thought I had today. She probably had Belle then, although we’re not positive. So they could have been in her prison at the same time.

I just realized all the main characters except Regina have been imprisoned at one point.

I also think that Rumple was much more malicious in those beginning days. He had all this power and could wield it unquestioningly. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. He went from a zero to evil. Anything that stood in his way he killed. He loved that everyone was terrified of him. A much different change from his previous life of being the town coward. Skip to centuries later and we don’t see him kill anyone, except maybe Gaston and Gepetto’s parents…oh, and the fairy which may or may not have been evil. He’s developed a code of ethics that all his deals follow, even if they don’t seem ethical to others. He doesn’t lie, misleads, but doesn’t lie, and everyone comes to him. He doesn’t seek out deals. They come to him. I think as long as he’s lived he’s at the point that if they’re stupid enough to ask for help then they can withstand the consequences. Like the old Chinese proverb “Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it.”

So when he made the deal for Belle, I think he was a different version of his earlier cursed self. More set in his ways and tempered by time and experience, although still the Dark One. Living centuries will change anyone. I think he saw Belle, like the others have said, as just a caretaker. He was lonely and wanted a body in the castle. He had all this wealth and luxury and nobody to share it with until he was reunited with his son. He saw an opportunity and took it. After spending months with her, I think they became friends and he fell in love gradually. It’s funny rewatching “Skin Deep” because he’s always suprised by her, whether it’s her taking down his curtains or chasing him around his table. She was actually quite forward. And like you mentioned, Belle was never afraid of Rumple. Onora, on the other hand, was terrified of him. I think if he’d have met Belle in his first few months of the curse he’d probably have done her in, too. But she wasn’t born until centuries later so we don’t have to worry about that. 😆

I have no idea what side of the fence Gold will sit in regards to Jefferson. On one hand, he freed Belle. On the other, he knew Belle was in there. It’s still a wildcard, in my opinion. Whatever Jefferson’s story, we’ll be getting it the first half of the season as he’s filming Captain America in the second half.

I’ve wandered about Rumple being an Imp, too, and not Zozo. My conclusion was that maybe it affects people differently. Attacks their weaknesses. Rumple was known as a coward who never stood up to anyone. He wasn’t the alpha-male type, so when he became the Dark One, it transformed him into this confident creature that wasn’t afraid of anything. Plus, we don’t know how long Zozo was the Dark One. Could have been centuries, or could have just been 20 years. We do know that Rumple has been the Dark One for centuries.

Also notice that the longer he goes on the more monster like he became. I don’t know if it was planned by “the powers that be” or just adjustments in makeup as the season went on, but in the pilot he was insane and heavily made up. When he showed up as Mr. Gold, it was really a shocking transformation…from insane monster to suave businessman. In the his first days as the dark one he’s just a little sparkly and dressed as a peasant. And then when he falls in love he’s very sparkly, but still looking a little human. After he discovers Belle is dead, it seems to be a turning point. Like he went into turbo-speed with the curse and finding Bae. He’d lost one person he loved, he’s going find the other against all odds.
