“A pirate died.”
“That’s what pirates do!”
So ratings are going to suck this week. The Golden Globes are Sunday.
Really, more people need to watch this show. Where are the Mel Brooks fans? Where are the Monty Python lovers? They really need to watch.

JosephineParticipantOf course as a OUAT viewer, certain things were particularly amusing. The Enchanted Forest gay bar run by the Evil Queen, Chef pointing out the plot inconsistencies when Isabella talks about her amulet, and Richard pulling out a sword in the same fashion as Excalibur. I couldn’t help but imagine Chef representing how we feel whenever we notice plot holes on OUAT. This show is very self aware, which is great!
I have to admit I noticed these things, too, and for a show that’s so self-aware and mocks everything, including itself, I felt this was a jab at its time slot sharer.
I hope the ratings are good. It was a really strong beginning of season two and it feels like it just got stronger in the year it was off. Let’s keep them coming.

JosephineParticipantI think that as long as a guy is hot, people will still ship him with somebody. Even if he is an absolute arsehole, the female protagonist will be shipped with him because he’s misunderstood, he can change for the better with love, he just needs someone to care about him, etc etc. It’s a well known trope called “Draco in leather pants” and often goes hand in hand with “Ron the deatheater” ie the bad boy is woobified into “just needs love” whilst the more heroic character is vilified.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RonTheDeathEaterWe actually discussed this particular trope in regard to the HP fandom last week. I seem to be seeing it more often, this issue for HP of Weasley-bashing and Slytherin-worshiping. It’s a disturbing trend on tumblr. This also led to an interesting discussion on the romanticizing of Snape. Snape was essentially the Sidney Carton (Tale of Two Cities…required reading if you haven’t read it) of HP. In my opinion, if the showrunners had gone with their original story, then Hook would have also had this role. Yet for various reasons, he morphed from this Carton-esque character to the hero of the story. A jump that should never have happened. Carton did NOT get Lucie Manette in the end, and I still believe it was never the original intent of Emma to end up with Hook.
One positive thing about this is that the trolls will never touch our beloved classic literature. They might use Frankenstein but they’ll never flirt with Austen or Dickens. They’re a bit too cerebral for the Once audience. My Lizzy and Darcy are safe.

JosephineParticipantHappy New Year!
So Ranisha, RG, and I might have done a bad thing last night. We plotted out Pride and Prejudice as a CS fic.
The concept was what would Pride and Prejudice look like if it was series on TV today with a fandom following. Here were the results:
–Wickham would be the hero. He has a lot of manpain.
–Darcy would be considered mean, abusive, and not deserving of Lizzy.
–The main ship of the show would obviously be Wickham/Lizzy. (Wizzy)
–Lizzy forgives all of Wickham’s dastardly actions because he is just misunderstood and, of course, has manpain.
–Wickham’s manpain originates from having to watch Darcy grow up with advantages and money while he is just a poor nobody.
–Darcy would be shipped with Caroline Bingley because, of course, he doesn’t deserve Lizzy.
We had more, but that was the gist of it. Sadly, this would probably happen.

JosephineParticipantI may be outlining a new SF fic where in the pilot when she’s chasing Ryan (I think that’s his name) she gets hit by a car and has been in a coma dreaming all of the past seasons up. One of my endings for the show.

I’m shocked Eddy came right out and said it. Which leads me to believe it will be filmed outside and soon and will be spoiled anyway by fans.

JosephineParticipantMary Margret makes a comment when they were marked that the babies were safe with the fairies… you know that group of beings with magical powers and it’s leader being the “original power”.
Don’t worry, Adam and Eddy forgot about it, too.
Maybe the townspeople who are missing in all scenes are hanging out at the convent.

JosephineParticipantJust watched the scene and there is no baby in it. Mary Margret had her hands in her coat pocket. So I assume the babies are still with the fairies.
I only hope that when they return the fairies refuse to give up custody on grounds of neglect and abandonment.

December 8, 2015 at 5:13 pm in reply to: THR 12/7 – "Unfinished Business" in Underworld, Potential Rumbelle Baby #313972JosephineParticipantYou would think that if the DO curse could be spread to or affect offspring, then the most reasonable way to poison the world with darkness would be to ‘go forth and multiply’. Spread your demon spawn all over the Enchanted Forest and plot to rule all with your Dark offspring by your side.
*cackles* Muhahahahaha

They went to London in Wonderland… but not the REAL London. 🙂
They play the same song over and over just to a different beat.
