I got that if Emma died the curse would automatically be broken, not that she hadto be killed. I took it as the curse can still be broken if she lived, but if she did by chance get killed then it’s null and void, sort of like a contract. I don’t think I explained that well, but the gist is that she doesn’t have to die for the curse to break. It’s already starting to weaken and the queen is scared that she can break it. That’s why she didn’t want to kill her, just put her into a coma-like existance.
Ohh, Regina’s “So there” did put his hackles up. He looked like he wanted to @#$%^-slap her there when she rubbed his face in it. Just wait until next week when Belle makes an appearance. I sooooo hope there is interaction between her and Gold, and then Regina and Gold afterward. If Regina has a bit of magic left because of the objects she brought with her, then Gold has a whole storehouse full of magic.

JosephineParticipantMy dog is not a Rumbelle shipper! Or even a Mr. Gold/Rumple fan. 😕 The reason…I have my cable television hooked up through my computer so I can watch television and tape, similar to a dvr only I use my computer. Well, first when “Skin Deep” was on and then when “The Return” came on, both Rumple-centric episodes, my dog decided to root around in my computer armoire and get into the back (she’s a little jack russell terrier) and pull the tv tuner out of the USB slot. During both episodes! So I have a ten minute chunk taken out of each episode when I go back to rewatch, each right smack dab in the middle of the show. I have taped most of the season, except for a few shows, and these two are the only ones she’s done it to. I’m going to have to make sure she’s no were near the computer for the finale. I’d hate to see what plugs she’d pull out if Gold and Belle ever got together. She’d probably make my computer crash. 😯

JosephineParticipantMaybe she made lasagne the way I do, Stouffer’s frozen. 😀 But even that takes over an hour.
I have no idea. That wasn’t a good dish to pretend for her to make. Evidently, the writers are not that experienced at cooking. I could understand a quick spaghetti, but never lasagne.

JosephineParticipantI’m still not convinced he’s a whale. They’ll really have to pull something out of their bag for that to work for me. I think he’s Prince Eric from Little Mermaid. Although I loved that movie, it was really the songs, Ariel, and the sea witch that made it great. Prince Eric was not my favorite. I always thought he was too fickle, falling in love with a girl for her voice. It seemed a stupid reason in my tween mind at the time. Still think that way. On the other hand, I always loved Beauty and the Beast, even long before the Disney version. Anyway, Dr. Whale seems to have a wondering eye and that reminds me of Eric.
Okay, I rewatched Pinocchio yesterday and realized that that specific scene is the last of the movie. It’s been years since I actually watched it. I was impressed by how spot on the raft and the whale appears in the show. The whale attacks the raft, then they wash up on shore, Pinocchio is unconscious, Gepetto finds him, and then the Blue Fairy turns him into a real boy. The end. I think they chose that to hasten the story along the point we needed it. No need to tell the whole tale. We just need the ending. I don’t think it had anything to do with showing Monstro to tie to Dr. Whale. And the whale was in Henry’s story. That’s the scene where the story stopped. Even August said that it stopped there because they’re writing the story now, and really, nobody knew the real ending of sending him in the wardrobe.

JosephineParticipantBeauty and the Beast does have some disturbing elements, but so do all fairytales. They were originally teaching tools. Just look at Little Red Riding Hood, that has subtext out the waazoo and has filled numerous books disecting it’s meaning. Beauty and the Beast was originally told as a tale to help ease girls into their new marriages, which were often arranged with someone they never met and far from home. It showed that their future husbands weren’t all monsters. So actually it’s one of the few that’s meant to be uplifting and reassuring, not just cautionary.

JosephineParticipantI haven’t seen it mentioned here too many times, but it’s been theorized I think the producers have confirmed it and a link is in the Blue Fairy thread that Gold didn’t have any memories of his former life until he heard Emma’s name in the pilot, acting as a failsafe. It was a trigger to bring back all of his memories. If this is the case then he needed Emma to come to Storybrooke to get the ball rolling. The only catch is how did he know specifically to procure Henry for Regina’s adoption?
It’s also been discussed that this is the “curse to end all curses” and Gold wants the power done with completely. I think he hates that he broke his promise to Bae. Just think about how he admitted it to Regina, with bitterness at himself in his voice. He wants to atone and make good with Bae, his father back with no magical powers. That was the point of the whole curse.

JosephineParticipantI was debating where to put this, but if Belle does get out of that asylum and supposing she has her memories and she meets Gold at one point, do you think she’d actually know who he is? Gold looks a lot different than he did as Rumple and even his voice has a different, uhm, color, for wont of a better term. Sure this is supposing a lot, but I was pondering over this. Would he approach her first? Would she believe who he was? Or would she know immediately.
I hope they interact in the finale, but I’m expecting them not to. I don’t want to get my hopes up too high only for their connection to be eyes meeting and maybe one word spoken in the very last second before the credits.

JosephineParticipantI kept waiting for a scene where Gepetto turned him back into a doll and painted his hair to disguise him. 🙄 Like others have said, they’ve gotten the other casting down so well and the comment about Bae to Gold just makes you really wonder why they are so far off in the casting of August.
As for hair color changing, I was blond as a baby and now a brunette. I was always jealous of my brother’s and sister’s dark hair. Now as an adult it’s darkened and I’m much happier with it. I do have gingers in the family and as they got older it didn’t turn brown, just more a russett or auburn or a snow white color. August’s hair doesn’t look like it’s ever been red to me. And if he’s been travelling and spending time in tropical exotic locals usually your hair lightens up with all the sun exposure. 😕

apple butter
Seriously? That exists???
Omg, yes! It’s one of my favorite things to eat. I make a huge batch every fall when the apple harvest comes in. There is no butter in it, just apples cooked in cider (non_alcoholic) until it turns into a thick dark brown preserve. The only things I add are cinnamon and sugar. It’s quite popular in my area and can be bought in the grocery store, but I prefer to make my own.
Getting back on topic, I don’t think Jefferson is working for Regina this time around. But then again, she may be dangling his daughter in front of him.
