ParticipantI don’t really think that Gold refused to help Emma because he wants custody himself. I think he refused because he wants her to go to August for help so he can convince her about the curse.
However, if there is a custody battle, it might somehow come out that Gold is related through DNA testing or some other means. Seems after the Katherine situation, anything is possible regarding DNA in Storybrooke, even if it was tampered with. Of course, that would open a whole new can of worms with Emma about Gold and his son. Thinking all this though, I don’t think Gold’s going to get Henry. Unless they are ballsy enough to really go there.

ParticipantThere may be a chance for Bae to really be dead, but I don’t think the writers in the first season would devote two episodes to the subject and then pop up and say, “Oh, he’s really dead.” But you never know what twists they’ll come up with to keep us on the edge of our seats. It would be a fitting retribution to all Rumple has done.
You know how sometimes certain thoughts just pop into you head with no evidence…just gut feeling? Well, last week when I was watching “The Return” and Henry popped into Gold’s store, the only thing going through my head was “Grandpa”. I’ve thought before this episode that Henry might be kin to Gold, but it just kept circling around and around in my head so much that I had to rewatch that scene to see what they actually said. I think part of it was that Henry’s one of the only people Gold has actually been kind of nice to in Storybrooke without something being in it for him.
Does Gold know that Henry thinks Storybrooke is populated with fairytale characters? I’m trying to think back on all the conversations about it and I can’t remember if Emma mentioned something to Gold or not. I don’t think Henry would say anything and Regina doesn’t seem like she would admit it to Gold that her son is trying to bring her down. Hmmmm….am I forgetting a conversation somewhere?

ParticipantI really don’t think it’s going to go back to the way it was pre-curse. They just can’t erase Henry’s existense or reset Emma’s life to when she was a baby. I hope that people get the choice to stay in Storybrooke or return to FTL, if it even still exists. That would be much more interesting, seeing how they adjust and reconcile their former lives in FTL with their current lives in Storybrooke. I really don’t think some would willingly want to return to that former life. Even though they’re cursed, I think some have it a bit easier in Storybrooke.

ParticipantBoy, and I thought my family reunions were interesting… 😯 What a cast of characters that would involve! I wonder whose castle they would congregate at. 😆
I’m also of the opinion that Bae is Henry’s father. From what the writers and creators have said about we may or may not have seen him already and that he’s not just some ordinary guy (paraphrasing) it has to be Bae. Now we just need the story to figure it all out, however, with all that they’ve done so far, I don’t think it’s impossible for them to come up with some sort of plausible explanation for how it could happen.

ParticipantI think it would be unexpected and the best idea yet to not have the curse breaking as the finale of the series. We need to see how these people we’ve been so invested in deal with the aftermath of the curse. Whether it is staying in Storybrooke or returning to FTL, there will still be more stories to tell. In fact, I think those might be just as interesting, watching how characters are adjusting to their lives.
We also need flashbacks to Emma as a teen. We’re missing big chunks of information from this time that I have a feeling this is extremely important. Didn’t the creators say that Henry’s father (cough::Bae::cough) wouldn’t just be some ordinary person? We’ve have FTL flashbacks, but we need flashbacks of our world, whether it’s Emma, Bae, or other untold characters that have ties to our world.

ParticipantI’ve seen this mentioned before somewhere here, that Mr. Gold/Rumple is reminicient of Severus Snape from Harry Potter. Throughout the entire series, until his final moments in the last book, you never knew what side he was really on. It was the most interesting and perplexing thing about the series. His loyalty to Lily’s memory was behind everything he did, similar to Rumple’s situation regarding Bae (and to an extent Belle). Will we ever truly know what side Rumple is really on? The big difference between the two characters for me, though, is that I was never a fangirl of Snape. Being a teacher, I despised the way he treated his students. No matter what side he was on, I could never forgive him for this. However, I have no problem trying to rationalize away squashing poor cart drivers and killing mute maids. 😕
Another note, I was rewatching part of “Heart of Darkness” and caught myself unexpectly giggling everytime Rumple giggled…something I really don’t do the first time watching probably because I’m so into the show on the first time around. This got me thinking that I really wouldn’t like this character if any other actor would have played him. Robert Carlyle is just fantastic. I was actually really surprised when I realized that he was the lead in one of my all time favorite movies The Full Monty. He’d best get nominated come Emmy time.

ParticipantI want to see Sleeping Beauty and her prince. Growing up that was always my favorite Disney movie. Prince Phillip was probably one of my first crushes. He was just swoon-worthy. From Tchaikovsky’s beautiful score to the art-like feel of the movie, it’s just a masterpiece. In my opinion, the only one that comes close is my other favorite, Beauty and the Beast.
I was never that big of a fan of Disney’s Snow White, I liked the original tale, where Snow White gets visited three times by the Evil Queen and only awakes after the prince’s men trip and cause the apple to dislodge from her throat, but the Disney version didn’t do much for me. However, I do love what OUaT has done with it. Fantastic.
Hmmm..maybe others I’d like to see are Rapunzel, Gulliver’s Travels, Jack the Giant Killer…really any fairytale. I was always a fairytale nut when I was little.
I just hope they don’t do an episode and make Rumple into Bluebeard. That fairytale is just really twisted.

ParticipantI’m going to rewatch the series, what I have taped. I think I’m missing just a few episodes. Sadly, the pilot is one of them. I’m hoping they rerun it in summertime. I might try the suggestion of watching in FTL chronological order. That sounds like fun. I might also brush up rereading my Brothers Grimm and Charles Perrault tales.
The only other fandom I’ve been invested in was Harry Potter, which this show is giving me the same feelings. At least with this show we have a chance of getting new stuff within a few months. I remember the publishing break between Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix of over three years that seemed like an eternity. I thought I was going to go insane. And even after that it was two years between each book. Oooohh!! J.K. Rowling is publishing again in August…another thing to tide me over until the hiatus is done.

ParticipantThat’s true. E! is usually behind others or exaggerates, especially Kristen. I watch Glee and her scoops are usually stuff we’ve heard a month before she even reports it or a throwaway line. I tend to prefer TVLine, which I wish would give us more hints of what is going to happen.
