I….I….I can’t respond without ranting and raving.

    *calms down*

I know their reasoning. Wonderland didn’t get high ratings so why bother following the canon set up there. Let’s face it, it’s not the first thing they’ve retconned. And love triangles have worked out soooo well for this fandom so far so let’s just kill the two ships left that weren’t involved in any triangles. I know a lot of Rumbellers were also ScarletQueen shippers, including me. So I’m doubly screwed over with this storyline. With all Belle has been through she needs a friend. Not a lover, not a boyfriend, not even her husband. She needs a freaking friend!

I hate to be a Debby Downer but every spoiler I hear about this show just makes me want to watch it less every week.

I cannot admit here what blurted out of my fingers and onto the keyboard at the Snowing/QoD confrontation. 😛 RG knows but might hurt me if I type it. 😉

Jared didn’t get the Nealfire blackout memo that everyone else got. Kinda shocked they kept it in. He also explained that Neal is the son of Rumple who is his grandfather who is married to Belle who is his sort-of grandmother. Not a direct quote. It total it was two sentences and nobody else mentioned him or even showed a picture of him.

Oddly they mentioned Ruby a few times and showed her and implied she was related, too.

So I shared this poem with some of you already but I wanted to post it today.

    “Happy Endings” by Shel Silverstein

    There are no happy endings.
    Endings are the saddest part,
So just give me a happy middle,
    And a very happy start.

This show is so obsessed with happy endings that that the showrunners are missing out how how terrible the middle parts are.  For us, the viewer, the  characters, the plot.   There is only so much angst a person can take without something to balance out the terrible.  And I think I’m numb because there is no balance.  I’m to the point I just don’t care.  I’m not spewing hate, but it’s like watching something from a distance.

Some of you might have seen the post on Tumblr, and I didn’t reblog or favorite it so I can’t remember who posted it, but it was guidelines to how to write a successful soap opera from a veteran soap writer in the 80s/90s.  Some of the stuff I didn’t agree with but the one thing that stood out was the rule to WATCH THE SHOW.  Yes, they see the dailies, and write the scripts but do they watch the completed product?  Or rewatch the series?  I think not.  I think if the writers would actually sit down and watch what is on the actual screen, what we the views see, they might get a different perspective on the show.  They have all these unknown facts in their head about the show that we don’t know.  I always said that Eddy and Adam explaining stuff through podcast were signs of poor writers.  You have to get your message out through the show! Not podcasts, not interviews, not cut scenes.  The general audience, where your ratings come from, do not seek these things out.

If this show was book I’d have quite reading several chapters ago. 😉  Not that’s not totally true.  I’d quit reading and then skip to the last page  to comfort myself on all the crap I saved myself from actually reading it.  😛

I have reached this point of numbness from the show.  I’m not shocked by anything and not in a good way.  Even up till 4a I hated some parts but I still wanted to watch the show.  Now I’m just …. uninterested.   Like I said, numb.  I’m very meh about the whole thing.

I think the showrunners  walk a fine line.  That famous saying about “The opposite of love is not hate.  It’s indifference” is very applicable.  Do they really care if people hate-watch?  It brings in viewers, which brings in ad revenue.  But when people become indifferent about the show, when they just don’t care, they don’t tune in.  They forget it’s on, they flip channels, they watch strange reality shows on Discovery instead of their once favorite show.

I know the fandom is insane. A dissatisfied fandom may stay faithful out of loyalty or hope that things will turn around.  A quiet fandom, which I’ve noticed a cooling down in many places although it’s still largely insane, will find something else to watch.

Lol, thanks, RG.  I am quite proud of it. Of course, I see the mistakes when I look at it, but I’m pleased with the results.

Now I have to return to my cardigan.  And I bought yarn tonight.  Red yarn of unknown origins.  It was a Mill-end bag but I think it’s a superwash wool in fingering weight.  I’ll have to  keep my eye out on a project for it.

    *claps for RG’s Rumple rant*

I can’t add anything more coherent than what RG typed.

ARRRRRRR….this thing is going to drive me insane.

Belle had eyes.  Those gave me no trouble.  But I cannot get the mouth.  No matter how many times I try I just can’t do it.  I’m out if ideas and it’s driving me nuts.  And it’s the last step I have to do.

    *sigh*
