JosephineParticipant
Happy Birthday, RG’s Mom. 😉 Very pretty scarf! I like the color, too. Of course, I’m in an orange kick lately. Used to hate it and now it’s probably my favorite color.

JosephineParticipantI don’t like Outlaw Queen because the ridiculously common and shallow development of the man they call Robin Hood (but who shows precious little of the established literary character of the man of solid legend) is a totally inferior pairing.
My eye rolling distaste of how the Writers have disrespected the legend aside, (it happens- their story, their control) this man is a shallow, common, soap opera jerk. They have written him into a very unappealing and somewhat pruriently crude, stereotyped dud.
To be fair they did the same thing with Peter Pan, Hook and Tink. Their story and Neverland had no basis on the original Peter Pan. They didn’t even “twist” it. It seemed like the origin story and the relationships was completely disregarded or skimmed over quickly. I love alternative versions of fairy tales. I’ve read enough fanfiction based on this idea to last a lifetime, but you need to keep your characters rooted somehow in the origin story. Season one did it beautifully. Now it’s just “Oh, let’s take this character and use their name and likeness.” This man might carry around a bow and answer to Robin, but he hasn’t exhibited any of the characteristics that make Robin Hood the beloved character of legend.
So it all comes down to the writing this season. Something is getting lost in translation from brainstorming to final script. I don’t blame actors, I won’t rant about them or how they perform the lines. It’s the writers who ruined this story and nobody else.

JosephineParticipantOur word of the day is ‘pulchritudinous’.
Pluchritudinous: adj. physically beautiful, comely.
Tom Mison is very pulchritudinous with his long flowing ‘Ichabod’ wig.
Go forth and use this word today.

JosephineParticipantI’m the biggest Rumple fan there is. Love Bobby, love Rumple since season one, but I’m beginning to dislike everyone, especially Rumple….and that’s scary for me to admit. Granny is about the only one left I have no issues with. *sigh*

JosephineParticipant4B is going to be even worse than 4A…if that’s possible. Rumple with Cruella and Ursula. He’s got his own little harem now. Glad to know all that character growth and a little thing called a marriage is doing good for him *Jo is…..angry…yeah, let’s go with angry at Adam and Eddy*

JosephineParticipantElsa’s been here, DSB. I woke up to sub-zero windchills. If it’s this cold in November, what the heck is February, the coldest month in the dead of winter, going to be like. We broke records today for temps.
And people wonder why I despise Elsa and everything she represents. *says, Jo, who wants to be laying on a beach with 80 degree temps and a coconut drink her in hand*

JosephineParticipantI wasn’t planning on saying anything at all. All I will add to the conversation is when you have to start looking for technicalities and loopholes to rationalize behavior then something isn’t right. It might not technically be wrong or illegal, but somewhere in your own heart it’s going against your personal morals.
Adam and Eddy wrote themselves into a horrible place the minute they brought back Marian. Whether she’s still legally Robin’s wife, he doesn’t love her anymore, or being dead and then time traveling nullifies and voids your marriage, this single act killed many people’s support of this ship. Traditionally, the character of Robin Hood is seen to be one of a noble thief who puts the needs of many above his own privileged background. He has a solid set of ethics and mores he and his men follow. So this back and forth triangle makes it doubling troublesome for many.
I wonder A&E thought this through other than, “Let’s shock everyone in the finale.” These things have long term repercussions and no matter who you ship, or if you don’t, this situation can have no good outcome.

JosephineParticipantI think a lot of fandom people’s minds immediately went to the twitter fiasco with the Anti-Happy comment. They might claim all they want on twitter and in interviews that it was just a joke, but people form opinions and it’s hard to change them.
Nevermind. A quick google cleared it all up for me. I’m glad she loves all of Emma’s “ships” and her fans and I respect her defending them, but her reaction read a little grandiose to me. Her whole day? I love JMo’s portrayal of Emma, but the response seemed like she wanted to fan the flames. I think Lana handled it best. Please don’t hate me! This was only the impression I got from what I read.
No need to apologize. You’re on the same page as many of us. Lana handled it, and then JMo just fanned the flames. I admit that I lost a bit of respect for JMo after that fiasco and how she handled it compared to Lana. I might not like what Michael Coleman said, but he owned up to it and didn’t need to be dragged on like it was.
