Count me amongst the shocked for a certain nomination on that list. (If I weren’t so lazy the insert of a certain Munch painting would not be inappropriate at this moment.)

I was going to totally ignore this thread. I see nothing but trouble ahead. I even typed up my own reasons for disliking Hook that have nothing to do with shipping, and then deleted them because …. well, you all know why I’m reluctant to admit my true feelings.
One thing I would like to say is Hook suffers from the “Blaine Effect”. Glee fans will know what I’m talking about. The character Blaine joined Glee in season two and it split the fandom. Some loved him, others despised him. He came in and got more songs and more airtime than the original characters who fans had been waiting patiently, or impatiently, to get a front-burner story. This interloper comes in an steals time and attention. It really had a striking impact on the fandom. Ratings eventually dropped off and while it leveled off to a respectable number it never rebounded from it’s previous high ratings. I see Hook having the same reaction with the Once fandom. And I’m not the only one who had made the parallel. This has been touched on many times in forums and tumblr.
I did save my reasoning that I typed out so maybe I’ll post it at some point, but right now I’ll keep it to myself.

I’m so used to people babysitting Henry my mind went there instead of Baby Namestealer. I haven’t heard Finding Nemo refer to baby, either. Still fits Rumple much better than Charmings.

I finally turned the furnace on. I caved. Last night it was in the 30s and today it didn’t get out of the 50s and it was just too chilly when I came home from work and it was 55F in the living room. Plus, I needed to make sure the furnace was actually working. So I’m telling myself I’m just testing it. I’m letting it run a cycle and then turning it down. I did make it 5 days past my original deadline, but couldn’t make to Nov 1st.
I haven’t seen a lot of glowing reviews of last night’s show. Of course, they’re out there but it’s nice to see there are others who are seeing the cracks now.

Oh dear lord. She’s Dory. They’ve officially made her Dory.
I’ve never heard Henry referred to as Nemo. Baelfire, yes. Henry, no. Season one and two Rumple’s search for his son he lost was often paralleled with Finding Nemo. Tons of tumblr posts abound with side by side gifs. And Belle’s memory loss in Season two cast her into the role of Dory. But I’ve never seen it applied to Henry.
That said, poor Emilie. She is getting the Ruby treatment. It’s sad when a regular since season two gets so little screen time in all her years on the show. She got more and juicier stuff on the show when she was just a guest star.
