I have to say that Daniel Radcliff never replaced my original version of Harry, nor did any of the other actors. I still have my book version in my head even today when I reread the series. I consider the movies as just an interpretation of the books. Not what I picture when I read, but very good versions.
The time travel has kept me away from Outlander series. I love a good romance and Scottish stuff, but time travel is not my thing. That was my big hang up from reading. It’s one of those books I know I’m going to read someday, it’s just a matter of when.

It’s been recommended so many times I always put it off for later. I think the large number of sequels is the reason I’ve held off.
Haven’t seen the show. I don’t get Starz, but I think I’d prefer to read at least the first novel before I see it. Maybe it will move up on my “to be read” list.

JosephineParticipantI’m actually liking Extant and not in a mocking way. It’s getting interesting.

JosephineParticipantMaybe Belle’s mother is the Black Fairy?
I recall there was speculation before that Blue Fairy was Belle’s mother. And someone said somethin about how in either the original story or some other version of it, Belle’s mother is a fairy…or something… My memory is bad. But either way, its be interesting if it is so. As Rumpel said “Fairy magic doesn’t go well with what I am” so thatd add some extra turmoil or them
*sigh* I’m really at the point I have no desire to theorize, but one of the original versions known of Beauty and the Beast did have Belle’s mother being a fairy. You are correct, Watcher. That’s one reason people latched on to Tink being her mother. They’ll never do it but if Belle was half-fairy then that could be a reason Rumple never sensed or “saw” her death. We also have no idea why he picked Belle, a noblewoman, as his caretaker. Yes, it was probably a “It will be funny to see a rich girl subservient to me” but also he had to put up with her daily. I get the feeling he never “saw” anything about her and that’s a reason he picked her to begin with. Like I said, it will never happen, but that block in his “vision” could be attributable to being half-fairy.
But it’s not going to happen.

JosephineParticipantWait you just learned that Hook might be getting back his missing hand? That info has been out for awhile!
That’s not the part that causes intense rage. Although it isn’t something I’m happy about, we knew it was coming.

JosephineParticipantAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, had to let out my anger over the latest spoiler on tumblr and pics and knew you guys wouldn’t mind. They’re doing their best to alienate the Dearies and just completely give up on this show. I’m so close.
I am just so full of anger. That Cane of Feels needs to come back a wack a certain someone…and some trolls, too.

JosephineParticipantYes, Neal has so much more invested in the storyline other than Emma. The whole curse was created around the man for heaven’s sake. He’s the reason for the show. Everyone in some way was connected to Neal:
Rumple: Father and reason for the curse
Emma: Past lover Henry: Son
Regina: Manipulated to enact a curse to find him. Adoptive mother to his son.
Snowing: Grandparents to his child.
Belle: Father’s significant other, stepmother (in a way)
Milah: Mother
Hook: Mother’s lover and one time-mentor turned betrayer.
To kill off the central character, much more than anyone else, the keystone of the show and in such an illogical, stupid and mystifying way is unforgivable. I would accept his death if it had meaning. But it didn’t. And it makes me lose faith in the rest of the storytelling.

JosephineParticipantI’ve mentioned this, but at this point I’m only watching the show so I can stay up to date and read fanfiction. Fan ideas are so much more interesting than the Trolls come up with: TeamBrothers, Unrequited Mermaid love (follow original story), which leads to GayEric, etc. Even Outlaw Queen, a ship I was so enthusiastic about in the past, was horribly written and rushed and made no sense. It could have been beautiful and is much more interesting in fanfiction.
I think the downfall of this show is that they started out brilliantly world-building and then went and paid no attention to their laws and parameters…or characters. They push back, alter, and ignore things that don’t fit into their current ideas instead of concentrating on cohesive, coherent plots. I know some of you’ve not read Harry Potter, but a lot of us come from that fandom and her world-building is so tight and everything fits perfectly together. We now demand that of other SciFi/Fantasy/Magical stories. It’s hard to go back to eating slop when you’ve been gorging on fine dining. Even if I didn’t like the storylines, if they’d stayed true to their vision and their world I’d have followed this show faithfully to the end.
When shows like Grimm, which started the same time as Once, can remember continuity, introduce new characters and still stay on track with their long range story plan, then I demand it of Once. No excuse this is network television and they’re limited because of it. Too many hands are in the cookie jar and the general audience isn’t going to follow along. There are too many things to watch on tv’s and dvr’s to stay with a subpar show just out of loyalty.

JosephineParticipantTo find out how he became Neal. To find out what happened to him in the past 10 years. To find out what happened to him in Neverland
:/
This is my biggest beef with the writers. So much we’ll never know. Stories we’d rather have answers to than introductions to new characters. It’s like they don’t know how to complete anything. It’s set up, set up, set up, but then they have this interesting story and say, “Oh, we’re not interested in that anymore. But look and see who’s coming up next!”
