JosephineParticipant
I had a similar theory last night. We talked briefly in chat about it and I posted it in the Rumbelle Wedding thread. Here was my post…
Okay, I had a thought. Rumple was so adamant that Belle keep the dagger. If he took it back he could have essentially kept the secret forever, probably, but he was insistent that she keep it. Yes, it gives him an alibi for future misdeeds, but is there another reason? Could the fake dagger have an enchantment or protection spell on it that protects Belle and that was a reason he was so adamant she keep it
That little detail is just nagging me. Yes, he’s still the Dark One and regressing, but could there also be another reason for not taking her up on her offer? When someone hands you a “get out of jail free card” you don’t say, “Oh, no thank you. I’d rather do my time.” You take that card and cash it in.
Just trying to look at it from another angle.
Like I said, I think something else might be up with the fake dagger.

JosephineParticipantOne would think. But have you met Emma Swan? If she doesn’t require a believable post-funeral grieving period, neither would Robin. This show doesn’t have time for that.
Very true, 😕

JosephineParticipantThere is another possibility. We never saw the face of the man in the tavern when Tink said the one with the lion tattoo was Regina’s True Love. We all assumed it was Robin when we saw his tattoo but what if someone else has that same tattoo? Maybe Robin was just a “practice run” for Regina.
With this show, I wouldn’t rule that out at all. 😈

JosephineParticipantOkay, ignoring all “did Regina kill Marian in the original timeline?” stuff, even if this isn’t an issue, can Robin ever really be with Regina? At least in the next season?
I have a feeling that Marian’s destiny is an early death. I won’t be shocked at her dying early this next season. But even if that happens, would you respect Robin if after the funeral he’s looking at Regina and saying “how about a drink?” I know that’s exaggerating and would never happen, but he can’t go from funeral to courting. There is a reason people have grieving periods. It’s needed. I’m not saying there is a set time period. But it can’t be a few weeks, imo.
So another possibility is that Robin is conflicted between Marian and Regina. He has to make a decision between the two. A rehash of Cursed David and his situation. (Yes, I know Snow was his true love, but he had feelings, even if they were cursed ones, for Katherine). Does he leave his wife who he he was separated from because of “death” and not marital discord, or does he stay with her and work out the issues?
Piggybacking on that, the last possibility is him having an affair with Regina and stringing both women along. Once again, the Cursed David situation. Knowing that Robin is known for his honor, and he does have his real memories and is not a cursed personality, I can’t see this happening.
So Robin is between a rock and a hard place no matter where he turns. Nothing he can do will be right with the audience.

JosephineParticipantIt wasn’t planned. If you watch the commentary for Manhattan on the DVD, Bobby Carlyle talks about how MRJ approached him before the scene, and they hadn’t even really met before that, and asked if he should include the hand movement. Bobby encouraged him to do it. It’s great that really the first time Rumple and Neal meet was really the first time Bobby and Mikey worked together.

JosephineParticipantBringing in Frozen now is a grasp at ratings for the General Audience who haven’t been turning in at the numbers they did previously. Add in the people who are angry and threaten to leave, I think hastening Elsa’s appearance is a way to attempt to capitalize on its current success.
I am a bit surprised at Disney allowing Frozen to be getting the One treatment so quickly. But the first thing you learn in business school is strike while the iron is hot.

JosephineParticipantSooo….looks like the wedding isn’t Rumbelle after all. My poor OTP is all kinds of screwed up.

JosephineParticipantHi, delurkers! Welcome! And Happy Birthday. We always love a birthday celebration.
Evidently, I think word has gotten out in fandom that we’re a safe haven for SF fans. Our little lunacy in the world of Once. It’s nice to be around like-minded people.
Be careful, Corbin. Young Bison are full of energy and think they’re invincible and next you know you’re knocked over by a big train. Keep your eye out.
