Can I ask what her reason was? I’ve heard similar stories. I told my mom and her first thought was “Hook” and @CrowendWithLaurels has a friend who apparently did the same thing.
Her reasons were for it being Hook was that Neverland was over, he doesn’t have much of a story left, and “they’re never going to put him and her together.”. Not trying to start shipping in here. This is the POV of a 70 year old non-fandom non-shipping fan of the show.

I told my dad girlfriend about the future death. She knows nothing about fandom, shipping, or all the madness going on and doesn’t even know how insane I am about the show, but she immediately said, without any input on my part, the death was Hook. She had specific reasons and it’s interesting to hear from a non-fandom perspective. I told her I thought it was going to be Neal and why and she was surprised.
The others, including Belle, she said they’d never kill off.

I just don’t understand why they would release this spoiler at all. It would have a much higher shock value if kept secret. All it did was just as antagonize and agonize fans and create division.

Me and Slurpeez on the Sidney Carton train. I’ve long thought he’d make a terrific Sidney character, much like Snape did. Storywise it would make sense although my heart still says it’s Neal.

Seriously, between the broken heart and the indigestion, I’m not going to make it to March. (And the Polar Vortex…that is part of my dispare. Why did you have to come back! *shakes fist*) This actually puts a very bitter feeling to any upcoming shows since we all know the death is coming and constantly thinking, “Is this where it happens?” It’s going to drive us all insane.

I’m preparing myself for MRJ. Like said above, he doesn’t get love from fandom, he’s stopped doing his AskMRJ sessions, and I just have a feeling it’s him. I’ll be heartbroken. Truly, but I’m trying to make myself accept he’s gone. It’s easier that way when it is gone. I do think, though, that there are two deaths, Happy and another main character. Even gone, it’s not going to make me ship CS. I have issues with that one that have nothing to do with Neal. So no matter what happens, I’ll never go over to that side. I’d rather her stay single with Henry by her side. 😛 Hate to be a Debby Downer, but based on all the data, it has to be MRJ.

*moves on to actual topic* I was always a fan of Rumple being on that gurney, but the more I think about it the more I’m on the Neal train. He also isn’t in the scene at the meeting that Belle stands up and asks about who cursed them. It’s Archie sitting next to her. Which makes me think that Neal is incapacitated.

Listening to music and I think I’ve wrote this in one of the song threads but the song “On A Bus To St. Cloud” is so Swanfire, more Emma, after she got out of jail. It’s about a woman who sees her ex-lover everywhere she goes, always beyond her reach.
And it’s strange, but it’s true,

And I hate you some, and I love you some,
But I miss you most.Reminds me of all the times she probably search everywhere after she got out of jail for Neal. Whether it was to tell him off or tell him she loved him, I don’t even think she was sure. But those two years in Tallahassee were for a reason. And the Bug and necklace reminders that he was out there somewhere.
