Another theory: voices of the people Rumple’s hurt. Or voices of the the people the WWW has hurt…
Could also simply be the voices of those who have weilded the Dark One’s dagger. Maybe being under someone else’s control with that thing is insanity inducing. It drove Zoso to suicide, after all.

I really think it’s going to parallel their falling for each other in the EF, and I want to see that. Also. How is she going to explain “A fairy told me that you’re my happy ending, so…kiss me?”

Based on one image where Neal’s grabbing his chest in the promo, and the fact that Zelena has the dagger and would probably want additional insurance with Rumple, I suspect that Zelena has Neal’s heart. And you don’t lose all free will just because someone has your heart, so Neal could break Rumple out.

Presuming that Zelena unfroze her and finished off the transaction, Belle would have been a bit distracted from checking the clock before and after. And Zelena got into the safe very quickly…so I don’t think so much time passed that Belle would get suspicious over that.

I know, I know…….I just have to learn to accept that my favorite couple and 2nd favorite character (right behind Gold) will always be red-headed step-children on this show. Well of course, Belle was never supposed to be a regular, so I shouldn’t be surprised, but it hurts nonethless. How inconsistent is this show? Belle believes Gold is alive in FTL, but she doesn’t in SB? Did she lose a few brain cells? Why didn’t she wonder about not seeing the dagger? Sorry for venting – it really hurts……..
I love Belle best of all (even slightly more than Rumple) and I totally get your frustration–they promised us that leaving her behind when they went to Neverland didn’t mean they’d forget her, but it sure felt like they did. And so yeah, I’m worried too that she won’t get the attention she deserves.
But as to her not wondering in Storybrooke–why would she tell a perfect stranger her theories? the only one she spoke to about it in the Enchanted Forest (at least so far) is Neal, who, yeah, she’s had little time to get to know but who she knows through Rumple in a way that makes him feel like an intimate friend. (They’ve been talking, more or less, about Rumple’s son since she was at the Dark Castle.) Besides, he’s the one other person she knows loves Rumple, which gives them a strong bond.
I don’t think her “He died” to Zelena is a mistake. It’s what everyone saw happen…but that doesn’t mean she has no doubts about it suddenly. It just means she’s not going to share her wild theories, especially ones that are a bit dangerous to Rumple (dagger controls him, after all) with just anyone.

I’m pretty sure Belle’s gonna be pivotal in solving who Zelena is at some point, but if Zelena just froze her and didn’t leave any tracks, Belle wouldn’t remember being frozen in place/time for a couple minutes.

And it makes me wonder, did they also fall for one another in the enchanted forest when they can’t remember? Will we get to see them fall for each other TWICE? (if it’s this hot, yay!)

He’s probably ashamed of some of what he got up to in his depression after losing her. Neal promised he’d see them again; Hook only vowed he’d think of her every day.
If he gave up hope of getting back to her, he might have done some awful things. We know he’s capable of it. He’s cuddly…but we’ve also seen him kill people and torture people (if less so than our queen and imp).

She’s hesitant because with the missing year, she saw Rumple die last week.
She’s hesitant because to say it out loud is to make it more real, and she doesn’t want it to be real.
She’s hesitant because on day 1 or 2 in the EF, she’s already telling Neal, “I think we can get him back.” She’s not sure he’s really gone, and every fiber of her being is hoping that he isn’t.
And she’s in the shop because it’s something tangible of Rumple. It probably smells like him, and it’s where they spent significant time together after the curse was broken–it’s where she found him when Jefferson released her, it’s where they were for the End of the World when here memories returned, and where they reunited several times.
We tend to overthink the legal stuff in this show…nobody outside the town is going to enforce US law there. The one who has actual control is the caster of the curse, though the sheriff and authorities from the EF (Hi Charmings) do have some sway. And if the caster of the curse doesn’t care that much (or doesn’t dare fight it–ie, Rumple arranging for Belle to have the library; what’s Regina gonna do in early season 2, hm?), then it’s not far off anarchy. If Belle wants to run Gold’s shop to keep him alive in some manner, nobody but Zelena’s gonna stop her at this point (especially since the background stuff suggests that most of the town actually likes her).
