Well, even if he can get Belle back, she’ll be both, just like he’s Rumple and Gold and Charming’s David Nolan and Charming now. (And these are very good examples since both were affected abnormally by the curse like she apparently will be.) That’s not necessarily entirely bad–Charming’s learned from David Nolan’s mistakes (or so he claimed in We are Both) and Gold’s calm demeanor seems to help balance most of Rumple’s insanity (which was pretty extreme by the time the curse was cast, I think in part due to Regina’s lie about Belle as well as his imprisonment).

I think they said accidentally, and I guess from Regina’s perspective it was an accident. But yeah, that wasn’t quite right.

I suspect that Regina’s statement that Rumple always chooses darkness may be coming into play with Lacey’s appreciation for his darkness. He’s got the easy choice: Darkness AND Lacey, or light and the hard road of fighting to get Belle back. And that’s a tricky choice–we saw how quickly he went for Cora *shudder* when she appreciated his dark side.

Just wow on the feels from this. People are talking a lot about the funeral-ish scene…I’m wondering if Regina (or someone) fakes his death to throw off the Charmings? After all…that’s one way Regina could get him to herself.

Honestly, they’ve had so few guys in the show that aren’t hot…it’s almost unfair to pit them against one another. My vote was for Rumple because the charisma…the talent…gah! Hook I’d say is probably the straight up sexist-looking though. So I’m not surprised about the current standings, except that I’d expect more support for some of the others–cuz they’re dang hot too.
