I think the leather jacket is intended to capture a bit of the flair of her classic red jacket. It’s still her, somewhere in there.

I just hope this arc allows us to explore Rumple’s journey instead of casting him and Belle aside as no longer important.

Did some updating on the timeline. Flashbacks SHOULD be up-to-date through 407 now. I still need to add present events from 403-407 (which I have documented on my personal spreadsheet).

I made some executive decisions and adjusted the dates for the start of Skin Deep back by two months. That sets the main flashbacks of the Frozen arc in November/December 1980. I also set Elsa’s birthday in July and Anna’s in April based on evidence from their film and Frozen Fever (picking random days that looked nice to me, for Reasons).

And I’m giving in on the curtains issue. It now occurs a couple months after.

But in a lovely bit, I have Rumple giving her the library in the Dark Castle on Christmas Eve, 1980. Which is a happy little consolation for the curtains.

As always when I do a bunch of shifts on the timeline and add in new stuff, I welcome constructive criticism, things that are missing, things where the dates didn’t get set right etc. Thanks!

My belief about TLK as we’ve seen it in the show is that both parties must truly love the other–to the point they’re willing to sacrifice for the other. Haven’t time to detail all the examples, but the one moment when TLK almost worked for Belle and Rumple, he’d sacrificed the obvious pleasure he had in her company by letting her go, and she’d sacrificed her freedom to come back in the belief she could help him get free of his curse.

While I think there ARE moments when TLK should have worked later by this theory, I think that Rumple was never completely willing after that moment for even a split second to give up his power for Belle–save when he sacrificed his life to save her and Bae. That, which is all wrapped up in his belief that he’s unlovable and helpless without his power, is why TLK hasn’t worked for them since. (The fact that he DID give her the dagger briefly on their wedding night, though…)
