I think it just hit her what she had done to herself…but I do like the theory that it was a slightly different potion than Snow got.

–All the call-backs. This ep gave me a sense of connecting back to a lot of the action that’s developed all the characters over the seasons.
–Mommy Mal.
–Desperate Rumple explaining to Regina she doesn’t want to face him without his last bit of humanity.
–Emma’s reconciliation with her parents.
–I liked the backstory, though it needed more Will (and some suggestion that my headcanon of this being when Cora took Henry Sr. to Wonderland is accurate. Still headcanoning it like crazy).
–Regina’s sparkly Evil Queen dress in the latter part. OMG, loved.
–Eager Author writing a new twist.
Disliked:
–No. Belle. Feels like an actual betrayal this time when they put out promo pics FEATURING Belle. All that buildup in the last episodes on the plots she’s actually involved in and…nothing. And now we’re going right into finale time (At least it looks like she’ll get to be in that for a second or two.)
–Hardly any Henry. They said in one of the interviews that he’s going to play a major part in the finale. Anyone who came in for Frozen and missed the first couple seasons is going to be like, who’s this kid? I mean, seriously.
–No Will. Whatever they planned to do with him, they didn’t. And I’m actually MAD about it now because they said in one of the interviews that they’re not really going to tell us his story this season after all. Which means, probably never. No fair.
…I…I’m excited for the finale and I ENJOYED this episode and I’m still coming out of the experience angry. I can’t explain.

I have the impression that the author was really intrigued by the idea of writing happy endings for the villains. He’s INTO this. (And hey, he fell for a girl named Cruella…)
The question is, does it mean unhappy endings for the heroes? Or just a reversal of positions for everyone on the playing field?

Hm. I’m not so bothered by the concept of Christianity in FTL, because most of the stories that are involved were, in RL, written/orally composed (at least in the forms we’ve received) in a Christian context with pagan influences. You go through the source tales as they were written, and you find average women with magical knowledge casting little spells on the way to a church…it’s disconcerting in a way to us, because modern American (to some extent, all of western) culture has been inundated with this concept that magic, religion, and science are all in different corners and burn each other when they meet. But historically, and in other cultures, they blended a lot more–alchemy and chemistry were once one and the same (as with astrology and astronomy), supported by church and government alike. Wise women practiced magical medicine all week and attended church on Sunday.

Well, it’s no wonder they got special treatment in Storybrooke as a result, WR. She dragged them all the way from other realms to torture them. I wonder if they’ll ever close Whale’s story? It’s not finished till he gets back to his brother. Jefferson at least was reunited with Grace, though I wish wish wish he could at least have had a cameo in Wonderland.

I think Lily or Zelena is the most likely to perish for realsies. Rumple will die a temporary death.
(I don’t -want- either to die; I just think that’s the most likely possibility right now.)

Whatever. Sometimes we fans try to make it way more complicated than it is. It’s Regina. She still can’t have her happy ending with her sister pregnant with her lover’s child. She still needs the author’s help. And it’s just possible that the author is looking for a way out of Rumple’s grasp, too…given what he just saw Rumple make happen with Cruella.

Given that early Rumple wanted to use the Dark One’s power for good, and we saw how quickly that changed, there’s no question that the power has corrupted his purer instincts (which weren’t the purest to begin with–he did desert from his military service for sympathetic but nonetheless dishonorable reasons, and he did choose to burn the duke’s castle and kill Zoso all before he became the Dark One).
I think he used his dealmaking to help control not only the cost of his magic to himself but also his darker impulses. As long as he had Baelfire to keep him human, it was effective. Without his son, even with Belle left to love, there’s not been enough to keep it in check.

He told her some of it, just not with the same degree of honesty. Some fans believe that once her heart was returned she was able to remember what happened at the well; I’m not so sure about that but he did tell her some of it.
