If he really believes that what he’s going to do (or what’s happening to his heart) changes everything, he might be just as sincere about this farewell as he was in the Crocodile. Belle asked outright at the well if he was trying to get her back (the same question she had in the Crocodile, in fact), and he denied it.

His goal now seems to be simply to escape paying the full price for several centuries of hurting people, including the ones he loves, and his plan is to use the author’s ability to manage that. If he succeeds in that, then he’ll have time (if the possibility still exists) to consider whether he can win Belle back or not. His speech to her when she was asleep suggests he’s not sure about how that’s going to work out.

In S2, Regina was very broken. She’d just had her curse broken and everything she’d worked years for destroyed. She also had something besides her revenge to care for–her son–which Cora used as a weakness as usual.

In the year(years) after Daniel’s death, all she had to live for was revenge.

And who said Lily is caring about the legality here? She is a thief–it’s established that on at least three separate occasions, she’s robbed people and stores, as well as breaking and entering–one robbery being an armed one. And she may or may not be sleeping with her boyfriend–she’s hiding out with him in a creepy abandoned house, according to her story, which may or may not be accurate. She’s been established as an unreliable narrator.

Lily would have to be a couple of months older than Emma.

And this is probably around summer 1999, given that they’re going camping. Emma is about 15, but it’s still over a year before she meets Neal. (That would have been late 2000, early 2001, depending on how long they were together. She turns 18 in October 2001, and around then is when Henry is born.)

I’m so ridiculously excited that the Severe Nurse is coming back.

I find it interesting that they don’t name Regina’s father though…he’s back to valet like he was when it was a surprise who he was. Maybe because Henry Sr. isn’t really accurate and just Henry is confusing.

Also excited for more Nottingham stuff. I like these threads that connect us back to older episodes.

Neal believed a lot in fate and destiny. And he, too, lived one of those weird coincidences (a few of them, actually) that would be beyond belief without fate’s intervention:

–getting rescued by his mother’s lover in Neverland?
–falling in love with the Savior in a land without magic, out of billions of non-magical people?

…among other smaller things. I’m…kind of hoping they bring that up at some point.

Rumple’s waffled back and forth on the fate/choice thing. He spent centuries offering people a choice…and yet fearing the outcome of a single prophecy. He’s outright told people that they can control their fates, and yet he’s had the ability to see the future. Right now he’s on the “fate is in charge” wagon…with the caveat that he believes turning Emma dark and using the author can change what fate IS.

Swanfire may not have been officially together in the present, but they did love each other and Belle suggested that the swan necklace’s ability to cross realms pointed to their love being of the True variety. They were a canon couple, at least in the past. And A&E did encourage their fans to have hope, only to crush it in the cruellest manner possible.

So…while I think (hope, desperately believe) Rumbelle has a good chance of escaping that fate, pointing to any clues from Adam and especially Eddy suggesting we should root for them…is unhelpful at best.
