Oh, good connection. It did briefly cross my mind that Hook might be similar to Snape especially if it’ll be revealed that he’s playing double agent/switch sides in the finale. Oh, and apparently Alan Rickman, the actor who played Snape also played Hook! 😮 It’s in the blurb of other actors who played Hook in that OUAT magazine but I can’t find it listed under IMDB so I don’t know if it’s a mistake.
Rickman played an actor named O’Hara playing Hook in a stage play. It’s called “An awfully Big Adventure” and was around 1995. Whatever weirdness in the family tree we’ve had in OUAT has nothing on what happens there, so I hope there is nothing of that performance in terms of future OUAT plots. Let me just leave it at that but go google it if you want to be slightly disturbed.
Anyway, I am absolutely expecting Hook to have befriended Bae, and to have taught him all his thievery and sailing skills. I also think something in those flashbacks will parallel modern day SB where Hook saves the day by betraying GOAT and revealing he has the third bean after they escape using the 2nd one.

It isn’t that easy for them to block stuff like this when they’re filming in a public area. People can’t be prohibited from watching or taking photos – it isn’t against the law. They have their security people there to keep people out of the shot(s) but that is all they can do. This may be why they are “destroying” Storybrooke, to keep stuff like this from happening. I think too much is getting recorded and they are tired of trying to shoot around it. It is sad for those of us who love our spoilers but it is completely understandable from a producer perspective.
And sad for the people of the town too! Though I do think if they do move locales it is something that was always part of the plan just like breaking the curse in S1. They want to shake it up.

Yes I did forget about Regina and didn’t even think of it as nature/nurture question.
Though RG’s point about BF’s comment could be something they play with as well.

ParticipantIf everyone in SB lost their memories and scattered in the real world, we’d be back to more of a season 1 feel with Emma having to try to bring back the happy endings, and flashing back to the “real story” of their FTL lives. Perhaps doing all that while avoiding the Home Office. I somehow don’t think that is what A&E have in mind because I think they want to shake things up more than get into a formulaic groove. They broke the curse of memory in season 1, land now they’re breaking the trap of SB in season 2.

ParticipantJust to throw this out there, but A&E said Henry is the “product of both light and dark magic”. Well far as we know, while Rumpel is the Dark One, it isn’t exactly a hereditary position….so what does that mean as Bae doesn’t have dark magic in him or does he?
Were they just referring to the dark curse having brought Emma and Neal together?
Or could they have been letting something slip about dark magic being in Neal, maybe it is possible that the Shadow is connected to Neal somehow.“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. ParticipantIt might be a bit early to call it, but it looks like the Golden Key called it early!

ParticipantI did find some disturbing undercurrents–like when he tells her to run along to the shop and she sort of half turns like she isn’t sure but then does. Then when he asks her to excuse him to talk to the Charmings, and she hides. She’s with him because of what he can do, and he knows that but misses Belle so much. The have another drink thing–they are enabling each other in unhealthy ways.

ParticipantSo ideas on the trapping of the boys: (I forget who said what…just trying to sum up some of the ones I’ve seen on this and other threads….
1) Shadow is like any young child can be, immature and unaware of the needs of others not wanting companions to leave, even if the companions miss their homes
2) Looking for the right “fit” to attach itself and have form, but can’t test it out yet so it keeps them all
3) A creature that was ordered to find Bae, but not specifically given limits or instructions not to harm others so it just doesn’t bother to return any of the boys
4) A creature that feeds off the sorrow of all the Lost Boys

I disagree. While Cora and Regina are evil monsters, they are not beyond reasoning with; Tamara, however, is a fanatic, and there’s nothing more dangerous than dealing with fanatics, because there’s no reasoning with someone who believes wholly in the righteousness of his/her mission. It’s like expecting Barack Obama and Osama Bin Laden to have come to a peace agreement, it was just not going to happen.
Regina can reason, this is true, but we haven’t been given the chance to see this about Tamara. No one has tried to really change her mind about her underlying assumptions about Magic yet. We don’t even know what those assumptions fully are.
As for Cora–I would say she was actually beyond reason most of the time. Remember the time Jefferson tried to bargain with Cora? He says “If I tell you how I got here, can I see my daughter” and her response is, “Off with his head!” Or the time Snow traded the dagger for Johanna’s life, and Cora flung Johanna out the window anyway? I don’t think Cora was “reasonable”. Her cause was herself and her quest for power and maybe Regina (though I’m still not sure about that) and she would not let anything stop her.
No, I think people are harder on Tamara because we haven’t gotten her backstory, she interfered with a popular ship, she has “killed” two of our more main hero characters, is a two-timer. While there are some parallels with real world fanatics and we fear such people (rightly so), not everyone who believes in a cause goes full-on nutso about it so long they cannot ever see reason or admit wrong-doing. Someone mentioned the Salem Witch Trials in connection with the Home Office–ever see this? Declaration of Regret. People sometimes get caught up in a cause until something makes them see the evil behind what they themselves are doing, not just those they are attacking in the name of righteousness. I don’t know how they intend to write Tamara just yet–full on crazy or just misguided. She did seem regretful about shooting Neal and popping the portal, telling him he was a good man, so perhaps as we see more they could show us the other side of her story. Then she dies just as we realize she’s not quite the fanatic and lost cause that we thought. Because they like to play with us like that.
Maybe GOAT back off the destruction plan–though I do doubt that, too early to “redeem” them. I think Phee’s idea is likely–the explosion does not actually happen, and they are forced to haul tail out of there and go to Plan B.

ParticipantThat makes total sense that he pirates a bean away from GOAT. He’s too smart to trust them and he has a backup plan.
