ParticipantWow BF is much more active with her magic than in FTL isn’t she? Eva dies and BF stays away despite Snow calling, leaving her open to be Cora’d.
Ok BF being the one to heal Regina is on my least fave parts.

Blue Fairy- Just appearing to say Regina will be fine. Whale could have probably come to the same conclusion.
Excellent point–and with the whole science vs magic thing–what a missed opportunity. They even had Whale in the episode for a kind of silly scene showing Rumpel being cruel and cold for Lacey. BF plot device is blinding the writers or something else better be going on.

ParticipantThey hate it–but they want to destroy it too. Perhaps they want to get to the source of the infection and for that, they have to go to another land and take it out there?

ParticipantI think Snow will say something hopeful to Emma–like you don’t know for sure he is gone, you will find him etc. Then they might talk to Gold. I think Gold isn’t going to accept Bae’s death so easily, dark and angry Rumpel mode or not.

Oh I’m aware that they like to mash them together, I’m just not positive about the Hook / Eric thing since there’s also the Killian Jones angle they have yet to dive into. I’m not sure I see him as Eric just yet but then again I didn’t see Rumple working as the beast when I first saw the Skin Deep promo either so stranger things have happened.
I still love CaptainSwan but if push comes to shove and Ariel is an appropriate age, has chemistry with Hook etc etc I may learn to love it. Hook’s one of my favorite characters and I just don’t see him with anybody currently on the show other than Emma so we need some new blood but not somebody random either. Ariel would fit if done right but again we don’t know who’s playing her, what age etc etc so I’ll wait to officially dive in. (Still really liked the Tom Welling idea for Eric though lol, but if Eric does also have to be Hook then I am 100% in on Colin – adore him).
I see, fair enough if you don’t like the mash up technique or are unsure it would play out well for Hook. The age is a good point–if a young teenage actress is cast, I would also be uncomfortable watching an actor Colin’s age in a romantic relationship with her.

ParticipantI don’t think so. They get quite a bit of angst out of Emma simply thinking he is dead/gone forever and it leaves them the thread to pull on later to bring him back. Bae being dead already kind of leaves Rumpel’s arc hanging too–while they could do it, I think there’s more drama potential if they don’t. I’m not saying they wouldn’t go for the cheap gut punch eventually but not right now.

ParticipantI also see your point Happy Endings–Emma just being happy as a mother and daughter is also a possibility. I do like the romance sub-plots though so I like to analyze them. And it is fair to say while modern thinking is romance isn’t necessary for happiness, it isn’t that romance prevents it. You don’t “need” a man, but it’s ok to want that type of love and hope to find it when it is right for you. So that’s the storyline I hope to see for Emma–a love that is right for her, but also see her love for her family and her identity outside of that romance.
I’m not 100% sure which way the writing will go but if I see a genuine connection for Emma and whoever they put her with, then I’ll cheer it on.“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. ParticipantThey need to leave room for drama though–too soon in the life of the show for a happy ending!

ParticipantI like Price’s explanation too. There always was the childish side to Peter Pan not just the heroic side. (Speaking of childish sides….does the the abbreviation PP make anyone else snicker?) Someone said something about how he would swap sides in a fight to keep it interesting.
I also like RG’s notion that Bae ends up being Pan in reverse. That would be a definite twist–along with Hook being his mentor rather than antagonist. Different enough that A&E comments don’t directly contradict things.
To it, I’ll add another spin:
What if Bae never actually goes by “Peter Pan”. He might take on the name Peter–perhaps gives that to Hook when Hook asks him who he is. I wonder if he recognizes Hook, but Hook doesn’t recognize him right away, so he lies about his name. Perhaps the shadow thing is called “Pan”–and the story we know mashed them together but instead of mashing things together for ONCE, this time they take a character apart. So Bae will (with Hook’s help) defeat the shadow thing in some way–not combine with it or take over as leader on the island.

ParticipantI don’t think Rumpel created Neverland itself (since there were fairies and mermaids on it…why bother? Plus he hated fairies). He might have created the shadow though, perhaps created from Bae’s own hair or something like that, and sent it to find him.
I don’t see Rumpel cruelly separating 100’s of boys to find his own, but I do see him putting something into motion without realizing the cost. He may know magic has a price, but even with his seer powers he doesn’t always know what it is. He dealt in babies after all. He taught Cora and Regina and they created lots of orphans and corpses.
I do think it is something else though, because I have this theory about how Bae escapes.
Wendy said “once you set foot in Neverland”–well, tecnically, Bae lands in the water, and ends up on Hook’s ship. Perhaps he manages never to actually touch the land (perhaps that’s why he ends up flying?) and so he avoids whatever it is that binds you to the island.I’m probably just reading in to what she meant. But if it is something like that, it’s not really the Shadow but the land that keeps them there, then I totally could see Rumpel having set the shadow in motion.
I still also think my other theory–that the shadow was an unintentional creation because of dark one magic mixing with fairy magic could be at work.
