I had the same reaction the minute Greg said that line. This leads to something I was wondering–Greg’s life was saved by Dr. Whale. Does that mean Greg might consider someone who doesn’t have magic, who saved his life as potentially worth saving in return or approachable as an ally? That “kiss my boot” moment in the sneak peak might be going to come into play….what if Greg sees that, and approaches Whale….
Plus…it could go back to my pet theory which is most likely wrong–but GOAT’s organization may have been started by people from a magical realm, but they hide this from the lower ranked people. I think there is a connection between the wraith and that shadow peter pan thing too.
It did seem like Wendy had been to NL before–but perhaps that was her first trip and she was commenting on what Shadow-Peter Pan told her.
However that shadow cannot be Peter Pan if A&E are to believed that we won’t “see” Peter Pan this season.
I also agree with those who think Wendy’s London isn’t the past of “world without magic” London. That 6 mos later thing suggests there’s a gap of Neal’s “first stop”, so even if it is the same as, “world without magic” aka real world, it is consistent with not being Neal’s first stop after FTL. So it works either way.

Another possibility, is the people behind the organization are magical themselves–but no one in the lower ranks knows it.

I agree there’s something to how heavy they make him up, based on the darkness. It’s these attentions to little details that I like (and makes it harder when they miss something like…curtains).

Exactly, part of the point of ONCE is to take the originals and expand and layer things in. We’re all thinking classic Neverland but entirely possible there are mash ups with some other stories, for all we know. Say, there’s an entire emerald city ……we just never know!

Interesting! But if she is in “earth tones”–sounds like she is in dragon form, and maybe she is going to attack him, so whatever alliance they had might be over.
I’m still thinking Mal is tied to the trigger Regina talked about. So she has to send Hook in to do something or get something from Mal.

I think it fun to do all the “what if” now, once we know “what is” there is much less room for imagination outside of alternate universe fics where people say “what if instead”…

Regina pretended to be rude to him when her mother was watching. She apologized when they were alone, but of course, she was in love with him. We didn’t see how she treated the rest of the help.
Would she have fallen out of love? In the real world, what you say is probably true about running away and facing a harsh life, but they were in FTL. She might not have had skills, but Daniel did. If she truly would have been content to just ride horses and run a stable, then it is not hard to imagine an alternate universe where she and Daniel ended up running the stables at say, Snow’s palace. Leopold was kindly, he could have taken pity on them.
The more important thing though is that Regina is not as aware of herself as she should be. I agree with what you say about how she was dominated and has not really sat down to ask what truly would make her happy as opposed to what makes others unhappy. She cast the curse with the idea that if everyone else lost, she would win (and winning would make her happy).

Depends on how they alter Wendy’s story, doesn’t it?
Peter Pan didn’t cut off Hook’s hand….maybe he didn’t fly to the Darling’s window.
Perhaps they arrived in NL some completely other way, then she met Peter after she already had some adventures.Hard to say how they will adjust the tale for Once.
